Fun game with solid mechanics, a good concept, and some of the cleanest graphics I have seen this jam. Great work!
Nice game, though it would be better to have a tutorial instead of manual under description. There is no very explicit visual cue on what is top and bottom and what is middle. But overall a solid rhythm game.
Pretty solid game. A game like this suffers greatly when the controls are not present or communicated in game, especially with them not being the most intuitive choices for controls for such a game when considering the vertical layout (though I get the choice, as they are very comfortable once you get accostumed to them). I appreciate the game making sure you perfect each level and making absolutely sure you got each level's mechanics down. That is something which is easy to miss in level and game design and can often break a player's experience in the long run. Nicely done.
All the levels felt like they were building up to a finished track level with a more sizable length, so I was a little dissapointed to find out the game is over so quickly. Especially in a rythm game, you want to have the time to vibe with the music. But time constraints are what they are and gamejams are tough, so even getting this responsive of a rythm game system is a feat of its own.
Good job and good luck! :)
Nice game, controls are a bit confusing, but after u figure that out game is easy flowing and satisfying, great job!
Good game. In the last loop I was confused what key to press but good game. Very cool sound
Super slick visuals and overall cool vibe. It took me some time to get the controls. Perhaps an in-game label that makes clear which line is which key would help. But great experience overall. Very polished appeal
Great job with this, especially doing it solo like you said! It took me a second to understand after reading the instructions because everything was Space until there were multiple tracks, wouldve been helpful to put the key on the left in the row. But still I had fun playing this. And man do I also know the pain of syncing up music precisely in game, we had to do the same in our game!
The game looks very polished and was pretty satisfying. The level being really short kind of confused me though...
Saw in the comments this is your first jam, that's insane! This is very well done and looks and feels good. I had some issues with the controls at the beginning but was able to catch up. It could be better, as any game, but I do feel is pretty well done. Good job!
I wonder why the tracks are so short, maybe to avoid some desync issues? Also, the control scheme really goes against learning the game. Maybe using amy set of 3 keys that are already vertically aligned would make the game may times easier. To help the player more, just slap the button name to the lane, write [space], [s], [d] somewhere.
I also made a rhythm game of sorts! Thought you would like it, it is a tower defense with rhythmic inputs. And I had to solve some technical issues and learn some stuff to actually keep the music sinced with the game logic, maybe that's why you kept the level short? If so, very smart move for a jam project!
Congratulations on the project!
I wondered if someone would do a rhythm game. The controls were confusing though. I'd probably put a letter on the note you need to hit. At least on the tutorial levels. Great job!
Cool game! it feels responsive to play and the music is great. I wish there were more difficult levels or an endless mode. Great job!
thanks, already in backlog :)
I like the game, I'm a fan of rythm games but the controls are really confusing
Nice game!
Hey , good game ! I really like the idea of "music loop" to fit the theme. Control was a bit confusing but you managed to make it work
Looks cool and I finished it to the end. However, it was a bit confusing the way it switched between levels and how each segment ends abruptly. It was stuck saying level 1 so I wasn't sure if I was progressing or not until I finished the game.
I like the minimalist design. It was fun even though it was short.
Well, the idea is that Level = 1 song, and each instrument is a 'sublevel'. Meaning that what was published was only single Level of the game :D I wasn't able to put more levels due to deadline closing in 😅
Omg! I get it now... Maybe it would have been more clear with Level 1 - Instrument X or something like that. I understand the deadline limitations, don't worry it feels really solid given the time constraint
Interesting concept! I would have liked to have the buttons labelled on the lanes to which they correspond, because S, space and D on the keyboard are not in an arrangement that is intuative for top, middle, bottom! However, I did like the graphics and I appreciate it's difficult to make a rhythm game on a jam schedule!
yep, thanks for the feedback and checking out my game. What keys would make most sense to you for these horizontal lines?
The best would be 'a,s,d' for vertical lanes, but that felt like there is not enough space, so I sticked with horizontal.
Thank you for playing my game! This game very original and by far the best rhythm game I've played so far. I love the simplistic vibe and the fun build up in the music. This is very underrated. Great job!
I always love a good rhythm game, and this didn't disappoint. I know you ran out of time so I'll just let you know what I would have liked to see, had you been given more time. I would've like longer rhythms because I didn't really get a chance to feel the flow with their only being a few notes. I also think you could've added some on indicators on each lane to show what key controls what lane since it's easy to forget. Other than that, I enjoyed what you managed to make and the sounds of the notes playing every time you hit one was rather satisfying. Very well done! If you get a chance, you can Rate My Game Here.
Cool game but it's hard to understand the control at the beginning
