Top art style!

Developer

Thank you will forward to Dylan

Submitted(+2)

I like the artstyle and the effects, the game definitely left me stumped here and there, but not too easy is good!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much,

Stay tuned for an announcement after the jam

Nice to see another Ouroboros bros! I really enjoy the game overall. I only wish there were more mechanics to make the level design feel less repetitive, and a shortcut to retry levels. But I read that’s already implemented, so great job, guys!

Developer

Hey there,

I already got that feedback and started implementing some things on my local build

Shortcuts ok

New items ok

And some other suprises

Submitted(+2)

This is a really cool take on the theme. i thought about doing an ouroboros-based thing but I went another route. You did really good and it's nicely polished too! Great entry!

Developer

Thank you so much, it was our first game together (and first game brought to the "finish line" for me)

Submitted

Wow! You'd never know! It's great!

Love it nice artstyle!

Developer(+2)

Thank you, I'll forward that to Dylan

Oh this is really cool! This was one of the game ideas that I had in my mind too before starting the jam so it's nice to see it done. The later levels I felt like I cheesed it a bit but for the rest the level design was very good!

Submitted(+1)

Amazing design with really interesting puzzles! Somehow I managed to go out of bounds on level 7, but that was fun :P Good job!

Developer(+2)

Heyy,

Glad you enjoyed what my sleep deprived mind spawned at 3 in the morning xD

And yes if revorked the collision system ever since submitting

Submitted(+2)

I think this is the first game I've seen that has used the ouroboros concept. Nice puzzles!

If possible, please consider rating my game too.

Developer

Oh there have been a bunch of cool ouroboros games made, try to use the filter in the suggestions

Really fun twist on the Snake concept ! The sound effects and music are simple but really really adds something to the game, the movement sound really make it clear that you moved and the Win and Lose music are really cool and blend nicely with the ambiant one !

It kind of makes me think of this Crash Bandicoot ost

Nice job !

Developer(+1)

OK being compared to one of my childhood games osts is such an amazing (and in my eyes absolutely undeserved) compliment.

Thank you very much, there are two level cleared sounds and I can't stop myself from hearing that one is louder than the other...

But hey considering this is part of what I implemented in the middle of the night, I'm happy it gets the job done

Ahah I feel you, I mainly developped my game during nightime !

Great little game! Nice art and audio, with some good twists in the puzzles. Would love to see a few more complex levels but it felt like the right amount of difficulty for a jam :)

Two tiny gripes - I'd have liked the menu buttons to work with the keyboard (quite annoying to have to move back to the mouse just to click 'retry'), and I found it hard to tell when I was going to actually eat my tail vs be one square away.

Developer

Hey yeah R and N shortcuts are already implemented in the version I cannot post since the game is locked during the jam.

More levels to come, more mechanics and a **super secret** project in the works

Submitted(+1)

Love the idea!

Developer(+1)

Thabk you,

Loved making it a reality

Submitted(+1)

Nice game! Love the ctr waves and style overall. Last level fittingly felt like "just have fun" type of level, I like those

Developer

Thank you, yes the goal of the last level was to show that there is still room to grow with this concept on to part with the player on a high note

Submitted(+1)

Super cool art style, unique and fun game, well made 👏

Developer(+1)

Thank you

It was our first work together and the first time in a decade I've touched a game engine

Submitted (1 edit)

Wow, impressive work for such a long gap! Congrats 👏 This jam was also my very first game, definitely learned a lot of new things! I hope the jam was fruiftul for you too!

Submitted(+1)

Liked it! I would have preferred slightly less distortion effect for more visual clarity, but was fun to work through which apples to eat/not

Developer

Hey thank you and yes we have received this feedback regarding the CRT shader multiple times I'll but a slider/toggle in the settings menu for the next patch

Submitted(+1)

First I was a bit confused but afterwards I had so much fun playing it. Art style and sounds are also good.

Developer

Ohh I'm sorry to hear that

Could I inquire about what confused you?

How could we better the on-boarding experience?

Submitted(+1)

Wow, this is such a creative concept! I love the VHS effect and the overall visual style - it really sets the mood perfectly. and I really liked the old snake game mixed up with the loop theme! Fantastic work!

Developer(+1)

You are so kind, thanks a lot,

It's our first game Jam and the reception is incredible
