Took a bit to get the hang of the controls, as I would expect while learning to rely on one hand.

Incredible aesthetics and creativity.

Dude! I think this is the best game i've played so far in this game jam! Extremely creative concept and executed with style! Can't believe you pulled this off in just 4 days, I can definitely see myself playing this as a full release. I like the uncompromising difficulty and the deliberate choice to include a realistic gear shift mechanic. Now, it's time for me to get back and try to win the race :)

This is an extremely neat concept! It is hard to get into and the starting speed is a BIT abysmal, but once you get a few upgrades it is a lot of fun. One minor criticism: Maybe this is just because I have no idea how to drive manual but the gear shift felt unnecessary. I personally feel like just drive, neutral and reverse would have been sufficient, but maybe I'm just missing something. I think that with some slightly better onboarding, this game would be pretty awesome.

Developer

The gear shifter was added so you get the feel of a real car, where the higher the gear, the faster you can go.

AMAZING! I love the atmosphere. I’d actually like to play it if it was a real game on steam or something.

By far the most creative game I've played during this game jam. Well done. It's really difficult to play at the beginning, and I feel there should be some small onboarding for the player, but we're talking about a game jam, after all. Keep working on it, please! :)

I like the physics of the game.  II wasn't able to use the shotgun much because I dropped most of the ammo.  The artstyle is nice.  Good job!

Very well put-together, but it felt impossible to get a grip on even outside of the intentionally strange controls. Would've benefited a lot from a tutorial. Some of us don't know how driving stick works.

Submitted(+1)

Clunkyness as a feature! Took me some time to figuer how to use the shotgun but once I managed to do it, it was really fun. Good job!

The whole vibe is chaotic in the best way. The art, the pace, it all clicks. Nicely done!

I really like the art style and the atmosphere the game convey. I keep driving till... i hit a goose

Submitted(+1)

I really like the art style you went with.  I found the game pretty difficult, and learning what to do took a bit of time, but I had a lot of fun playing.

Fun but feels clunky in a good and bad way. Instructions should be bigger or placed elsewhere as I imagine most players would focus on anywhere but the corner of the car. I didn't even notice you can accelerate or brake when I first read it as it was a bit too dark.

Developer

Yes, I agree, the instructions should have been way more clearer, in the future we want to implement a tutorial.

Awesome gameplay!

really like the nice blend between 2d and 3d.

only thing is... the mouse isn't locked so my mouse reaches the edge of my screen when steering :P

you did great though, really impressed!

Threw away all my shotgun rounds on accident the first time I played..... Woops. Don´t be like me.
On a side-note -- and this might be just me -- the controls on the upper left corner are a tat hard to read. Probably just my somewhat bad eyesight though.
Loved, loved, LOVED the art style though. Reminds me of "White Knuckle" if you have ever played it.

Developer(+1)

yeah, the style was actually inspired by White Knuckle! I am so glad someone noticed!

Very stylish ! Also very hard. I love that you just casually have a shotgun in you car like's it normal

Submitted(+1)

Damn, that was great. Gearbox system and controls are almost perfect, just wheel needs to be a little more sensitive. Bravo.

Developer

You can buy the servo upgrade just for that ;3

Really cool controls, what a great idea!

It's quite difficult for me, but it's one of the best games I've tried so far!

Submitted(+1)

found the gear system quite tricky but once i got the hang of it this was great! loved the style

The one armed gear shifting in this game really felt so fun in this game and I don't know how you implemented a full engine system with proper rev calculations but well done honestly! One thing is I went too fast into a wall and ended up somehow inverting all the gears and the controls (i.e. All forward gears made me go backwards and turning right made me go left).

Developer(+1)

Yes, the rev calculation system was a pain,  initially it was fully physics based (simulating the clutch as a angular velocity torque spring between the wheels and the engine, with proper engine power curves) but that proved to be too hard to tune for good gameplay, so the whole code was scrapped and the final one is halfway between that and something more fun and easy to adjust. But some more bugfixing is required :)

Honestly you did great well done! You can try out mine if you'd like as well it would be greatly appreciated :)

man, this chicken run-em-over is really detailed!

just kidding, the game is really high quality, the intro sets the mood of the whole game, and then come the one-armed mechanics which add a new layer of complexity, especially to someone who hasn't driven a car in their life. I now know how to drive one handedly and can't wait to try it out in real life!
