The adorable style, concept, sounds, UI and visuals, all of them so good. It's polished. The fun to play as well.
Really cute and fun. I like the art style and the gameplay is neat.
The music and art are amazing and also very satisfying. I felt like the mouse controls were difficult, but if I spent more time, I would get used to them( I could also suck). Also, the way to start the game is cool.
Everything about this game is just so good. I just wish there was a downloadable version
I love the juice and the color palette; overall, the graphics and mechanics work together really well. Sound effects also fit the game and are really satisying. Great job!
Wow, really fun and impressive. The scoring mechanics are really satisfying and quite deep. It clicked for me when I realized the chasing fish only give a small additive score, so combining them with the stars was optimal. Very clever, and the VFX + SFX on loop completion are incredibly satisfying. The gently scrolling camera adds a lot of depth in some subtle ways. Graphically, I particularly liked the filled loop background and the stars. Really nice work. There are a few enemies that really need sound effects, like the laser-shooting clams. But overall this is a very tight, compact little game.
Thank you very much, good feedback too. I'm sure with a little code optimisation for performance we could check old star positions and even make to loop linger a bit for objects that enter the loop while it's still up. Might have a fiddle around with this on the train ride back home today :3.
Good feedback + "Best one I've played yet" = best comment. ♥️♥️♥️
Thanks! I had a bit of a think on it and came up with a way I might go about it - have each star track the angle to the octopus, and if the octopus has been to every angle relative to the star (I.e. circled around it) then it’s captured.
Of course it’s your game and I shall not tell you how to implement it, but that’s how it works in my head haha :)
Thanks for the suggestion, currently I just loop around all of the points in the loop and check that their centre position is on the inside of it. I think the issue is that they can move out of the loop just before you finish making it, and can come into it after. Or are you referring to pushing the enemy "centre point" towards the octo for better capturing? The only issue I can think of with making it easier to capture is that some enemies, like the fish, are better to be left untill there's a big pile of them for a big capture. I had one game where I managed to score 5k+ points in a single loop when I got 3 stars and a bunch of different-sized fish. The other option is to slow enemies a bit so they don't leave the loop as easily.
Wow, this game is really polished, the thumbnail didn't deceive me. I love the animations and how jumpy and reactive everything is. Seems like we both had a combo system, but with different implementations. Very solid game. Good job!
Very cute!
I've seen a few games that attempted a similar concept, but most felt wierd/were difficult because of the controls.
I think you nailed that!
Feels great to play and it has octopi! What more could one want.
