Good game. Art style is good. Really liked looping multiple star. Good fun.

Glad I'm not the only one doing double comments (thanks itch for ya weird UI). Cheers DZ,  glad you had fun with our game!  <3

While simple, this is probably one of my favorite games from this jam. THE OCTOPUS IS SO CUTE AAAAAAAA

Developer(+1)

Thx so much, yeah our artist cooked with her :3

Developer(+1)

Diggon went so hard with the Looptopus! I'm glad you like the design.

Hellivery is such a stunning game! Your art is incredible

Loved my time being a space octopus. 5/5

Developer

Appreciate the 5/5, thanks for giving our game and reviewing <3

Your game had me howling. Thanks for playing ours!

The adorable style, concept, sounds, UI and visuals, all of them so good. It's polished. The fun to play as well.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! Had a blast with your game

Really cute and fun. I like the art style and the gameplay is neat.

Developer

Thanks! Diggon cooked so hard with the art. Lucky Loop Shooter is heaps of fun

The music and art are amazing and also very satisfying. I felt like the mouse controls were difficult, but if I spent more time, I would get used to them( I could also suck). Also, the way to start the game is cool.

Developer

Appreciate you playing and for the kind words!

This is so adorable and so addictive! Kinda difficult!

Developer

Thank you very much, yeah I can be quite challenging getting a big combo!

Omg! Slither io but in space! I like it.

The gameplay was instantly addicting, the sound effect for the combo made it so satisfying which just kept pushing me to try and get even more again and again. Really cool game

Developer

I'm so glad we hooked you with the combo mechanic, thx for the kind words <3

Everything about this game is just so good. I just wish there was a downloadable version

Developer(+1)

Hearing that you want our game saved and downloaded to your desktop is such an incredible thing to hear :3
Might have to upload one after the game jam then! Cheers <3

Honestly you should add some stuff to this game and make a mobile port.

It will not only be a hit but it will be an actually good and unique mobile game, and these days those are rare.

Developer(+1)

I think that's all the encouragement the team needs! I'll hit ya up when our mobile port goes live :3

Remember me when you're a famous millionaire

I love the juice and the color palette; overall, the graphics and mechanics work together really well. Sound effects also fit the game and are really satisying. Great job!

Submitted

This was fun! Very cute aesthetics and I really liked the looping mechanic, no idea how you coded that though :0

Wow, really fun and impressive. The scoring mechanics are really satisfying and quite deep. It clicked for me when I realized the chasing fish only give a small additive score, so combining them with the stars was optimal. Very clever, and the VFX + SFX on loop completion are incredibly satisfying. The gently scrolling camera adds a lot of depth in some subtle ways. Graphically, I particularly liked the filled loop background and the stars. Really nice work. There are a few enemies that really need sound effects, like the laser-shooting clams. But overall this is a very tight, compact little game.

Developer

Thanks for playing!!!!!!!!

Yoooo what up Jane (it's Jayden ^_^) Thanks very much for the kind words :3
Keen to check out what ya worked on

(+1)

fantastic! best one I've played yet. I'm not sure how to code it out, but it's definitely frustrating when I went all the way around a star and dont get credit for it because the star left the region I circled by the time I finished.

Developer

Thank you very much, good feedback too. I'm sure with a little code optimisation for performance we could check old star positions and even make to loop linger a bit for objects that enter the loop while it's still up. Might have a fiddle around with this on the train ride back home today :3.

Good feedback + "Best one I've played yet" = best comment. ♥️♥️♥️

Thanks! I had a bit of a think on it and came up with a way I might go about it - have each star track the angle to the octopus, and if the octopus has been to every angle relative to the star (I.e. circled around it) then it’s captured.

Of course it’s your game and I shall not tell you how to implement it, but that’s how it works in my head haha :)

Developer

Thanks for the suggestion, currently I just loop around all of the points in the loop and check that their centre position is on the inside of it.  I think the issue is that they can move out of the loop just before you finish making it, and can come into it after. Or are you referring to pushing the enemy "centre point" towards the octo for better capturing?  The only issue I can think of with making it easier to capture is that some enemies, like the fish, are better to be left untill there's a big pile of them for a big capture. I had one game where I managed to score 5k+ points in a single loop when I got 3 stars and a bunch of different-sized fish. The other option is to slow enemies a bit so they don't leave the loop as easily.

Stellar work, intuitive and slick, loved it!

Developer

That's what we want to hear, thanks a ton ^_^

Submitted(+1)

Wow, this game is really polished, the thumbnail didn't deceive me. I love the animations and how jumpy and reactive everything is. Seems like we both had a combo system, but with different implementations. Very solid game. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Cheers, that's so kind! can't wait to give your combo system a spin ♥️

I've seen a few loop-the-enemies game so far in the jam, but the execution on this one definitely makes it a standout. Great cohesion with the theming too, the presentation is really great.

Developer

We didn't realise we were going to be designing the game everyone else would be, but here we are XD.
Which, of course, only makes your praise all the nicer, so thank you very much. Appreciated your cosy lil game too!

Submitted

Very cute!

I've seen a few games that attempted a similar concept, but most felt wierd/were difficult because of the controls.
I think you nailed that!
Feels great to play and it has octopi! What more could one want.

Developer

Supper appreciate that thx. Yeah our artist cooked hard with her and I'm really proud with how the team got the animations to look too.  Glad we had the controls feeling tight 🤙
