I don't get why all of you so like to make precision platformers.
So couple of em feedbacks for you for future
If your game requires pixel-perfect jumps never ever make two pixel wide outline on tiles edges. Especially on 8x8 grid you have, its like a quarter of a tile. Players want contrast, to surely know where platform ends.
You really need to fix your camera scaling. It isn't right when it can become less than a room or more than a room. In godot you probably need to check Scaling Mode in Project->Properties and change it from "Viewport" to "Canvas" or "None", at least start from there.
alright good luck
Thanks for the brutally honest reviews lol. Those things are already on my to do list. Working on it, sir.
Tried my best to reach 1-5, but got stuck at 1-4... Can't get to see your main mechanic in action — sorry about that! Hope others make it further!
Sorry for level 1-4 being frame perfect lol. I'll make sure to fix that in the post-jam version.
Hey, awesome game! I really enjoyed the portal mechanics — super creative and fun to experiment with. That said, I found the platforming quite difficult, and the game isn't very forgiving when you make a mistake. Failing near the end of a level and having to start over can be pretty frustrating. Since the strength of the game seems to lie more in the puzzle aspect, I think it might benefit from making the platforming a bit easier, or at least adding checkpoints to reduce the punishment for small errors.
Also, the controls for switching between portal colors felt a bit unintuitive and slowed things down for me. Maybe a more streamlined system would improve the overall flow.
Still, I had a lot of fun playing — great work overall!

The 4th level is asking you to be pixel perfect with your jumps twice in a row or you fail. I couldn't do it so I quit before even getting to use portals. The platforming was good, I appreciate when someone knows how to do a jump without making it too floaty but I'm clearly not good enough to beat it lol.
I am sorry for the 4th level, I have heard many people complain about it. Thank you for playing, I will fix the game post-jam.
Yippee vive la france vive nous!
Pretty great game mixning plateform and portals! Having played both and seeing this is really enticing lol.
The onyl two downsides i had where that there is a level using the coyote time system, and i feel like it's only a support functionnality, more than a real one, but well you do as you please lol. And also, i would have loved a lock key, to shoot in diagonal.
Other than that, great game and good job!
very cool!
Got to 1-4 but my plataform skills are not very good. Good job :)
”” Heavily inspired by Celeste and Portal (and Portal 2), Déjà Rêvé is a– wait, I mean, it’s not perfect, but it’s certainly a not bad choice for a fan of both series! “”
As someone who enjoyed both of those games, I agree, this was pretty fun! I think that the game had a surprisingly good difficulty curve without having the later puzzles be too easy.
I think that some of the earlier levels could maybe a little less focused on difficult platforming and instead focus on the puzzle aspect (Especially the coyote time one, I agree with the person who said having a level based around coyote time kind of defeats the purpose of having coyote time in the first place).
I love the little kick that your player does to the boxes instead of just pushing them, it made them feel so much more physical and like they had real weight to them.
I read the explanation and I’m still not sure I can quite see how it fits the theme, I think maybe having each level be a small variations on the previous one would have helped.
I like the hair colour changing to represent which portal you have selected (very Celeste inspired), and I also liked that your portals didn’t reset when you died.
Overall a pretty fun game!
Thank you for your feedback. Originally, the game is supposed to have 3 'world' where each level represents another from the 'world' before it. Like 2-3 and 1-3 (the slippery part), 2-5 and 1-5 both having a pit, 1-2 and 2-2 both has a lot of electricity, 1-4 and 2-4 is supposed to look relatively the same in the drafts but I don't know why we changed it lol. Here's the 2 drafts side by side.
I like the music and sprite design!
Had a fun time! also found some among us easter eggs!
Great lil portal-like. I think that having a section require the use of coyote time kind of defeats the point of said coyote-time. At this rate, someone will invent coyote-time-time. Regardless I managed to get through it, it was very fun after that !
a freaking achievemt in 4 days this is pretty crazy
My dumb brain was slow af kept trying to squeeze between the two platform on 1-2
Nice game tho!
movement feels wonkey but the rest is realy solid!
This game feels very... not great? The movement feels weirdly slippery on a lot on the blocks, the jump feels very limited, and off to be honest, and on 1-2 the jump feels very unforgiving for no real reason. The artwork looks absolutely fantastics, and the sound is pretty good, but just doesn't feel that great to play,
2/7
Thanks for your feedback! I tried but I couldn't balance slippery and speed lol. About the jumps, I figured it's because my playtesters are familiar with Celeste and other percise platformers so I did not really do anything about it. I will try to fix the problems in the post jam version!
I'm actually a Celeste player, but honestly some of the jumps felt very unlike Celeste (Celeste being, looks difficult is quite forgiving, vs Deja Reve, looks forgiving, weirdly difficult)
Yes, in the first couple of levels we tried to make the mechanics feels like Celeste. But as we build more, we saw that tweaking the physics system is necessary. Sorry for your bad experience tho.
Amazing, very difficult but has great mechanics and music, the sxf are great at indicating when something has happened that you might miss visually. amazing job, definitely recommend!!
Nice game I like it
Mechanics are creative loved it
Mechanics are fun! Jumping feels neat, I kept dying on 1-2 though lol
