Fun from start to finish! The visuals are appealing and the gameplay works really well. 🎨

Very good ideas! The esthetic is coherent and I really liked that changing the music had an effect on the character!

Thanks for the kind words! Appreciate you taking the time to play!

great aesthetic!

Thank you!

wowww the movement here is so smooth and snappy - it's just loose enough to feel like skating without being slippery. a time attack mode of this would be super fun, it'd feel great to try to optimize!

Thanks for the kind words! Glad the movement felt nice to play, and agreed that a time attack mode would be right at home here.

Great visuals and music! Reminded me of Sonic games

Thank you! Sonic came up a lot in our initial brainstorms and discussions so glad to hear the influence came through!

Really cool visuals, and the controls felt very smooth once you get the hang of them. This would be very fun to speedrun (maybe it could even be encouraged by reducing the time limit?)

I think the cassets should always be the same when you restart a level, as sometimes I was expecting to use the double jump first but I had the wrong one half of the attemps. In one of the last levels I also once fell in a spike pit that didn't restart the level, so that's worth looking into in case you plan on updating this. Nitpicks aside, this is an awewsome game. Congrats to the whole team!

Great point about the cassettes restarting at the beginning of each level. Also, appreciate you finding that bug for us. Appreciate the kind words and taking the time to play!

very cool cyberpunk aesthetic, loved it. premise is also very cool. gameplay is so smooth/fluid. great game! got kinda hard for me but Im upto the challenge and enjoyed it!

Thanks for the kind words! Definitely seeing a trend with the difficulty curve being one of the main pain points. Appreciate you taking the time to play.

Really neat and I absolutely adore the aesthetic! The palette choice is great and the vibe reminds me of VA11-HA11-A. I'm a big fan of the narrative too.

I found the game  difficult to play, which was a shame as I really really wanted to see more!

Thanks for playing and leaving some thoughtful feedback! To your point, the difficulty curve probably could've been balanced a bit more. Appreciate you taking the time to play.

I liked this, but the controls felt a bit awkward in terms of positioning my fingers, and while it felt really good when I was going fast, it also meant sometimes I would be too slow to get ready for the next obstacle. There's a really cool idea here, and I think it's executed well, I'd love to see a more polished version later on.

Thanks for the feedback! Great callout on the control scheme. Agree that we never quite nailed the perfect balance of speed and reactivity. Appreciate you playing and leaving some great feedback.

Very nice concept and artwork! I couldn't go very far but that's only cause I'm bad lol
Good job !

Great feedback! Definitely will keep the difficulty curve front of mind in the future.

The platforming is way too fun – mastering the tracks and going at full speed is so satisfying. Well done :D

Thank you! Happy to hear you enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed this game. Fun platforming with a twist, hit the theme on the narrative side, I would have like to see a take also game-play wise, but this game is pretty fun and I loved the cyberpunk aesthetic and palette, solid on the audio part too, nice touch on switching songs based on the skill used. Very well done.

Thank you! Agree that maybe the gameplay could've touched on loop a bit more. Definitely something we kicked around a bit ourselves.

Pretty cool! The aesthetic was nice, music was cool, interesting enough mechanic too ^^

Thank you! Appreciate you taking the time to play!

Really great! When I worked out the switching cassette mechanic this game felt super smooth!

Thanks for playing! Glad the movement felt nice and smooth.

Great game!

Thank you!

Wow what a creative game I don't think I've ever played a game with a mechanic like that,  I liked how the theme was interpreted both in gameplay and narratively. Super fun great work

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words, especially coming from someone who also has an entry with a stellar mechanic!

Great mood and soundtrack/sound effects.

I thought the camera was against me though. It was really hard to react to the level in a the speed the game reaches. I was just blindly jumping every time I saw different colored stuff. Maybe the camera could be bigger (show more stuff) or, at least, adjust it so the player sticks to the far left of the screen. As the levels makes you go right, that's what I'm interest to see in advance to make a plan and act. The visibility doesn't help either, as the background is very noisy and calls for your eye's attention (specially the blinking lights)

Another improvement I would think about is the visibility of the tape. The leve makes your eye look to the right of the screen, but the tape is on the upper left corner, so you have to move your eyes a long distance everytime you want to check on the tape color/buff. One simple solution would be to just change it to the upper right corner, this would already help a lot.

Hope these feedbacks help! o/ Congratulations on the project, very atmospheric and polished as well.

On a side note, my game is also music themed haha a rhythm game actually

Thank you for the in-depth constructive criticism. These are very helpful points!

Thanks so so much for the in depth criticism! These are really helpful! As the artist I'll look into how to discern the background and foreground more in the future :D

It feels great to chain together multiple jumps, although sometimes I felt like I was jumping blind. Any improvement to obstacle visibility would go a long way since the movement is so slick. Great work!

Thank you for the feedback! Your note on the visibility is a great point. Glad to hear you enjoyed the movement.

Absolutely nailed it. Tuned Out is slick, stylish, and way more polished than any game jam entry has a right to be. The cassette-swapping mechanic is clever as hell, with each tape giving you a different ability and letting you ride different rails, and the music and visuals tie it all together perfectly. Movement feels great, difficulty ramps up smoothly, and the whole thing just works. Only gripe was that rail readability tripped me up a bit, and it took me a second to understand how the abilities triggered. Still, this feels like a full idea, not a prototype. Super impressive work

Thanks so much! This is all really kind of you to say. That's great feedback on the rail readability, and how we can better teach the mechanics to the player. Appreciate you playing our game and leaving such a thoughtful response!
