Nice narrative, nice twist. I really enjoyed it!
Thank you!
The controls felt satisfying and the difficulty was well thought out. I only got to stage 6 though?
plot twist
✨✨✨✨
thanks?
All day every day we chase our goals. Just when we think we've already achieved what we wanted a new goal makes itself apparent. We try, try, try and try to achieve those little things that motivate us to keep going. However, despite the increasing hardship, maybe due to lack of ambition and motivation draining over time, maybe because our free time we used to spend on improving ourselves is gradually taken away from us and all we want to do with what little is left is just... sit in silence, relax and collect our thoughts. No matter how hard you try, you won't achieve everything you wanted. A giant wall preventing you from pushing forward is bound to appear sooner or later. That is The Reality of Life.
Nice little platformer, really enjoyed it!
Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Btw nice description!
A platform - jumping game with depth, the thought - provoking elements make it quite unique. The pixel - art style is also lovely. It's just that I don't know how to pass the sixth level.
It's a plot twist..
Nice solid platformer.
I enjoyed the movement pattern of the green enemy, it gave me a giggle.
I was surprised the windows build is 251 MB, and some of the sfx felt louder than others, but otherwise, I enjoyed my time.
Sorry it was 251mb, I had to include a runtime for the game to run. I don't know yet how to change audio using java.
No worries, just an observation :)
I like how obvious the loops are in this game, and nice work making it using Java! The controls feel nice and tight, but it's just a little short. Nice work!
Thanks for the feedback!
Nice little game, I think you should have made it more obvious that you can't beat the wall (at least I assume you can't). I've played some other games during this jam that claimed to have this mechanic but were just using a square room and changing too much between "loops" that it didn't really feel like looping through the same level. But this achieved the feeling of going through the same level with a slight change every time.
You should cancel the momentum when you die, I kept on running into the spikes when I respawned.
Overall fun but too short. Well done!
Thank you!
Fun platformer! I dont know if theres a way to get past the "Too late", but after trying to go as fast as possible without any deaths I still can't get past the menacing wall (maybe its symbolism of me bashing my head against the wall over and over?). Well done though!
Thank you!
Had to install java on my VM just for this (for those wondering, get it at https://adoptium.net/ then run the game with a terminal ‘java -jar file.jar’). Then saw the creator also provided a windows build haha. But it reminded me of how I started out in gamedev as well (with java). Cute game, was fun playing!
Thank you for playing my game!
Im out home but I will try it :)
