Cool idea and polished visuals.
Only the controls felt a bit intuitive, especially for a snake. But overall good job.
Thanks man! Preciatcha!
Wow nice job!
I really like your style on the game, really love the background with the birds flying across!
It definitely felt like Rainworld (which I love!), in the way of lifecycles and the enemies.
BTW really cool enemy, it had some freaky animations which I really appreciated!
Cool take on the theme! Good Job :D
Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! I'm glad you liked the ducks! XD
a nice idea with so much polish! lots of atmosphere and some great animal design, really reminds me of Rain Wolrd, great job!
Thank you so much for playing! It truly means a lot to me!
We found that allowing Jerry Clones™ to play this game on their down time increased their satisfaction and job performance by at least 43%. Jerries consistently complimented the mechanics, narrative, creativity and artwork of the game, but found that they sometimes got stuck and had to restart when they fell down to the lower levels, We were unable to determine whether the Jerries getting stuck were suboptimal or if the level design needed some tweaking.
Yours Sincerely,
Communications and business relationship officer @Jerry Inc™
Keep being awesome brother. Thank you for sending your team over here to my humble game. May we make it together to the top 100!
Amazing work, especially on the animations! I can really see the rain world inspiration (in the best way possible).
The only problems i had were that I could never find enough bunnies to start eating the goats, and I feel like there should be more trees to spend the night on. Also, the more I played the laggier the game got, so that's woth looking into. I would really love seeing this developed further :)
Yes sadly I had issues with the blood particles I forgot to ever de spawn them so the physics process was causing the CPUs of anyone who played to do their best imitation of a chimney. This is fixed in the patched version on my profile.
Thank you so much for playing and for your comment!
I really enjoyed playing this game, you did such a great job!! Very cool and nice physics, well done!
Thank you for playing!
very cool controls and awesome monster design really felt unsettling day and night cycle soo much in this game for a game jam game love it!
Thanks for playing!
ooh I really like the pixel art and the thing move, great job with that. It's a little hard to get around especially when trying to traverse below the tree and return to it. Some music and juicy sound effects would have helped too. Cool game!
Thanks for playing!
Cool game, the monster and the way the snake moves reminds me a lot of Rain World and I really like that game. Good submission!
I LOVE rain world! It's an honor to be compare to it! Thank you so much!!
Nice idea of having to loop back to the tree for safety and the movement physics are very nice. More on screen feedback would be nice to know if I've eaten 2 rabbits or not, a second lump on the snake mesh or a counter on the UI. Also had a similar problem to others of going in search of rabbits and getting stuck lower down in the level then not being big enough to climb back to the tree.
2 lumps do form on the snake if you eat 2 rabbits. You get one lump for each rabbit. The problem I think is that you never know when you're full and can't eat anymore. And yeah sorry about the difficulty of getting around.
Thank you so much for your feedback and for playing!!
Really liked the physics and the graphics, enough to make me try again after getting softblocked. Progression felt really nice, would love to see this finished!
Thank you! I will be working on this game a lot over the next few months. Hope to be able to publish it!
Great game idea! I loved the little snake guy
Thank you so much!
The snake physics felt great.
Thanks man! Thanks for playing!
I like the snake’s physics. But I got stuck down on the map and could not go up anymore. The snakes sprite is awesome too.
I have something to ask does asking for back rate work?
Anyway great job!
Thanks for playing!
And of course I'll rate your game!
I mean if this strategy works? :):)
The overall look was nice, i really like the shader on the clouds, very cool effect. The effect on the tree looks less convincing, i think this mostly because the leafy bit is swaying, but the branches are hanging still. My other tip would be to make the snake have a more distinct color or some kind of indicator where it is... I did like the details in the artwork a lot, like the ducks flying in the background. Nice little idea, well done!
Thank you so much! I'm proud of those little ducks! XD
As for the snake, did you mean that you sometimes lost track of it?
Thanks for playing!
yes, at the start of the level, i was like... where my character? Then it shot out of the tree. Also the tree is brown and a lot of the level tiles are brown making the snake sometimes blend a bit into that. Maybe pick a distinct color just for the snake so it always stands out (like Ori, where the player character is very bright, or celeste with her very bright hair). Hope that explained my previous comment a bit.
Oh! yeah. Thanks i have had a few people complain about being hidden in tree. Will look into that.
Thank you!
The art was really nice and the movement of the snake felt pretty good too. The only problem was that what I'm assuming was a procedurally generated world, wasn't very friendly to navigate and I found it impossible to get back to the tree
By the way, thanks for playing my game earlier!
Yeah it can be hard to get around I'll have to work on that... Thanks for playing!
And no problem! I'm glad I did it, was super fun!
A really extremely impressive and cool game. I love the graphics. I am a sucker for procedural animation. I did however get softlocked alot even after learning jumping tech I got stuck below the tree with no way to get back up and I did occasionally get extreme lag. It felt like when a physics object is in a wall and spazzes out and lags me. Other than that super cool game I loved playing, I would love to see this become a full game it reminds me of Rainworld but im the big badde and I want to DEVOUR.
hey thank you so much for playing!! A comparison between my game and Rain World will always be the highest compliment anyone could ever pay to me! So thank you again!
Really solid concept and a fun game. The only issue is I fell and couldn't get up to the tree again. It seems randomly generated which is a great idea. Either way, had fun being a snek
Hey thanks for playing! Yeah it's proceduraly generated.
Woah, I was not expecting to see a horrific cryptid come out at night! Great artwork, it compliments the realism of the game!
Thanks man! I really appreciate that!
Out of all the snake clones, this is easily the most creative. In fact it is not a snake clone, but a "day in the life". Also the nighttime creatures are horrifying. Sssssssssnaaaaake!
Thank you so much for playing! Really means a lot!
