Nice Hollow Knight inspired game! I really like the time recording mechanic, felt more natural than how a lot of other games this jam have been doing it. I think it would be nice if the camera was pulled back a bit, feels a little close to the player. Also not a huge fan of missing a blind jump and losing a lot progress. That aside, cool game!

Cool take on this recurring idea I've seen across many games in this jam, but the atmosphere sets it apart. The platforming felt a little floating but nothing a little tweaking and some more polish wouldn't fix
was really hoping to play this, but i couldn't seem to get it to work, neither through download or browser
only seemed to work on my phone weirdly enough, but there is no way do control the game so it didn't quite work
but i really like the art and presentation! love the hollow knight inspiration !
Nice visuals, and the audio is also pretty good, although music could also be nice instead of just ambient noise (but that could just be a stylistic choice).
On the gameplay side, I got a bit too frustrated with the main mechanics. The jump is too floaty and feels quite bad. Added to the fact that you are required to jump on top of your reflections, which involves waiting for your past actions to record, then you have to wait for the jump to execute, it's just too much waiting for me honestly.
The in-game tutorial is also very unclear to me, I didn't understand the given symbols at all, and I had to go back to the game page to find the instructions. Now that could make me sound like a hypocrite, since I don't even have an in-game tutorial in my own entry, but if you bothered to include one in your game, I thought it should at least make sense.
Final thing is that your web build has too big of a resolution to display on my monitor so I had to download the PC build.
happy to see you took the steps to play the game, sorry to hear the experience didnt live up to your expectations. Yes, the onboarding could be improved, but we had to sacrifice in some areas to focus on others. and there is actually a sound track, it just gets introduced a little later in the game, after the tutorial.
tysm for the feedback, we are constantly looking to improve the game, so it really helps. the physics of the clone and jump are def things we are looking into, so stay tuned for future updates when they're improved.
This game is really pretty and pays nice homage to hollow knight without just copying its style completely, very impressive. The replay mechanic makes for very interesting puzzles, but the movement is certainly lacking. The character feels a bit too floaty and especially their very slow acceleration make the game quite frustrating at times. If it was a bit easier to control the character, I would certainly enjoy this game quite a lot. Overall very good work!
we are looking into changing the feel of the character, we did go through many iterations to get it to match the style of game we were going for, so it's good to get feedback on the current iteration. we especially appreciate the depth you went into, it really helps us understand our players to make a better game for them.
The visual look great, i kind of like the idea but i have to admit, i struggled so hard with controlling the character that i gave up after a minute or 3. Nothing unfixable, i'd say the biggest problem is the sideways momentum the character has, all feels very physics based opposed to more coded movement. As a big hollow knight fan i clicked on this, and it kinda gives you an expectation of feel , not just look ... but what the game might "feel" like control wise, i love hollow knight for the looks, but in most part for it's tight feel and controls. Not that this game is bad, just to give insight what i found as a player. As a gamejammer... very nively done within this timelimit, cool art i really dig! I feel bad for not being good enough at your game to see more of the artwork and ideas.
We had much debate on what type of feel we wanted the game to have, and this is what we ended up with. I appreciate you going into depth on your reasoning, it helps us understand our players and make a better game for them. We will def be looking more into this to fine tune it to what feels best.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write it down, your feedback is super valuable. We're looking forward to hearing about further improvements you have once the changes have been made and you've had the chance to play a little more <3
Liked the direction of art, especially audio! It took a bit of time to understand the mechanics and how to use it, but after that, it was not that annoying! I loved that in level design there are shortcuts, because they are really useful if you yeet yourself in the wrong direction with your clone:D
