Game feels super smooth to play, animations are great and fluid. Movement is juicy and attacks are punchy. But I think the gameplay lacks purpose. I did not understand the why and what of the game. If you want something with so many mechanics, you should teach them slowly to the player while also forcing the player to use them to clear levels.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We seem to have a good understanding of the technical aspects, but we still have a lot to learn in terms of proper game design

As others have said, there are just way too many mechanics that do not fit the game unfortunately. The implementation is really good however, the game moves smoothly and feels fluid. There's definitely some good game dev backing it up, even if it's a bit tainted by the feature creep lol

I'm really intriqued by this as the art is well done and there's some really well implemented juice, but I'm unsure as to the desired gameplay loop unless it's racing to the end of the level which is how I ended up playing it. I found it easier to just dodge the enemies rather than defeating them. I'm also enamored by the fish-eye effect on the camera, that was really cool and I don't see it used very often (now I want to figure out how to do that).

The game looks incredibly well, nice job on that. Some of the mechanics were a little rough, but I think it has great potential! Well done I must say!

If you find the time to play our game too, I would appreciate it!

I don't understand some mechanics and it purpose, sometimes the player character took a lethal damage without any enemies around and the hook seems really difficult to use. I feel like the game wants the player to focus on completing the level fast and takeout some enemies.

Overall, the game is pretty smooth. Well done.

Developer

Yes, we originally planned a speedrun, but then we added a couple of mechanics incorrectly and broke the entire game design)

Loved the graphs and the music, but found the control scheme a bit confusing principally the hook, also the enemies take too long to die and too soon to kill you. Have an incredible potential!

Developer

Thank you, there are problems with the overall game design, not just the controls)

Exciting, quick gameplay. This has a pretty ambitious scope for a 7 day jam, with a few tweaks I could see this being a really solid speed game. The hookshot is a bit frustrating to use atm, and the bloom has the unfortunate side-effect of closing the game (ctrl+w.) Overall the attack felt a bit superfluous, I think if the game focused more on speed, dodging, and time-based scoring it could be a real winner!

Thank you for your feedback! Yes, our game design has gone awry)

The gameplay feels really fun and quick, i love the visual and the changes in color as an indicator of how in danger you are. overall great game and execution!

The game feels really smooth and well made. I love that orb-like camera effect, it makes the game so much more appealing! May I ask what that effect is called?

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The effect is called fisheye.
