Art is beautiful, I absolutely loved it! I also really like the music.

It would be nice to add audio for jumping, dashing and attacking.

Like the others mentioned - it was strange for me that I had a sword and did not get to use it for several levels. Also was confused by the shop appearing and the fact I had to jump over it to pass through.

I liked it ^^

Developer

Thank you very much, we'll add audio for jumping and other movement stuff next time :) and as for that shop level i don't know man my friend thought it would be a great idea to leave it like that , thanks for the comment<3

Very good looking visuals and animations, nice soundtrack.

Few comments, mostly already mentioned by others:

  • The shop attracts the player and takes the time from the actual gameplay. Making it to the shop roof is not a trivial idea and task, so some player can end the game right here Seems better not to add the shop at all if it’s not functional.

  • It’s usually a very bad idea to place the platforms in an areas that are invisible to the player. Memorizing it’s placement, running all the way to the jump place through the level is time consuming and generally not fun thing to spend time on. If it’s an intentional design at least put a respawn point right next the place from where the player has to jump to this platform.

  • Right at the beginning I’m getting a sword, and then I’m running through several levels, with actually good art, without using it. It’s a bit of a waste of the art I guess, placing some enemies on the starting levels would most probably make the game more fun and those levels will feel less empty.

  • And the last comment, that I’m leaving almost to every game on this jam that I’ve played - please, configure the mouse cursor change to pointer on hover. It should take less then a minute of time but the UI instantly feels more responsive. Adding custom cursor for the default state and for the hover state grants you double points:)

Hey, yes

We thought of adding a shop and collectables

About those platforms the parallaxing art is tiling there so I placed a limit on the camera because I added parallax after making the level

And yes we also thought of adding enemies

But this is me and my other two friend's first ever game all these things are probably not very hard to implement but since we lack experience we had no direction and it seems we overestimated ourselves XD.

And thank you very much for the comment really appreciate it

Beautiful game!! I figured out the double jump. I didn't know how to interact with the shop owner. Perhaps I missed those instructions. I love the music, the art, the jumping. The game dynamics, mechanics, scenery, .. were all fantastic. I wanted to keep playing but got stuck. Fantastic job! i can only imagine what further development could bring. .. Check out my entry! :D much appreciate :)

Hey we thought of Adding shop but left it for aesthetics because of time limitations you have to go a little bit back and walljump over the walls surrounding the shop then you can reach the end of the level thanks for the comment and I'll definitely check out you entry

really nicely done overall, some minor feedback might be to add some more indication of where certain platforms appear below the player in the floating areas, otherwise it sometimes felt like it was luck to find them or just fall into the void. a really good submission to the jam, well done!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, really appreciate it I'll try to add indicators next time

Does it bug out after the shop? I tried going into the portal but the player became invisible and nothing else happened.

Developer

After going into the portal the player is supposed to teleport to another level I'll look into the bug. Thanks for the comment appreciate it

Reached the shop but nothing happens. Made it to the end?

Parallax was a nice touch.

Its a nice simple platformer, adding particle effect would make it better. Dust particles when running, some when jumping.

Developer

Ahh we thought of adding collectables and shop but we couldn't so we just left the shop for aesthetics as for the end you have to go above the shop there are 2 more levels after that shop

This was our first game we also thought about the particles but didn't want to make it too complex, and  thanks for the comment appreciate it

Really like the background art! Would be nice if there was a story to go with the rich art, cos not really sure where I'm headed for as I'm walking. The gameplay is pretty chill!

Developer

we also had a story in mind when making this game but since its our first project and my partners having collage we had to cut off content to atleast finish the project as for the background art you can appericiate the artists their names are in the credits section in the game. Thank you for the comment really appreciate it
