Love the meatboy vibes, sometimes the slomo charges aren't respected and you can just fling yourself around infinitely.

very cool!

I had a bit of trouble with the control mechanisms, despite the illustrations in the backgrounds! I did have fun though, and your entry looked and sounded great. Good job as a solo creator, and good luck in the jam

Great work. Loved the slow down mechanic. Mouse control (pointing it to opposite side of where you want to slowmo move to ) can be a bit of an issue breaking the game flow. Also with a lot of keys being used in the WASD space adding some arrow keys might make movement easier! I had a lot of fun with it

thank you for your feedback - valid point! I'll keep this in mind ;)

it remembers me somehow to "cut the rope" so i instantaly love it. Also, the mechanics are very original and I love it, I really like the originality of the objective, to be eaten to complete the level. I never seen that before, good work!

Developer

thank you really appreciate it! :)

Some nice mechanics here! Love the graphical style too. One improvement would be to get rid of the black screen after dying, I'd much rather just reappear back at the start like in Super Meat Boy. Cool stuff!

Developer

this is definitely on my 'to do list' I have a reset function for the scene but couldn't implement well because of the time period - so i decided to reload the whole level with this

I liked the mechanics combined with the level design a lot. Reminded me a lot of a lot of my favorite platformers like Celeste and Ori and the Blind Forest.

Here's a vod of me playing your game. Thanks for sharing!

Good game! I feel like I got a bit too finger tied at times with all the different moves and all the minor things that can kill you. Having the dash, launch, and stomp to switch between on the fly was a bit much for me. The slo-mo for the launch is nice but in the browser embed the cursor can cause issues when you're near the play field edge since it's not restricted into the game. Also I might shrink the hurtbox of the saws a bit... Perhaps I'm just trying to get more and more forgiving mechanics for a masocore game tho, heh!

Great game and lots of fun to play. One thing I noticed is the mouse must be on the opposite side of where you want to slowmo-shoot the character. This feels counter intuitive for me, I always have the mouse instinctively on the wrong side. It also makes it difficult to aim if you are close to the edge of the game screen.

Developer

That’s definitely a valid point you’re bringing up. The mechanic is inspired by a game called Poinpy — a mobile game. I personally found it very intuitive there, but that’s probably because of the touch controls. If I were to continue developing the game, I would of course make sure to include an appropriate accessibility option.

Submitted

Yeah I thought it was either inspired by mobile or controller. Feels more at home in those kind of devices but mouse just ticks the exact opposite way. Still very fun though!

The mechanics feel really good! I love the slow mo, and the ground pound animation is very satisfying. I also found the tutorial super painless which is not easy to do. The death animation is a little long for me, I want to get back into the action immediately! Good job.

Thank you for your feedback - glad you enjoyed it :) I'll keep that in mind

Awesome job! The visuals and music set the mood perfectly, and the catapult felt really satisfying. It ended a little soon for me. I’d love to see more stages or mechanics to build on this cool idea.

Oo I like the slow-mo and art style! I think if you had the dash on the Shift key it would make it a little less awkward to dash with the same fingers using WASD. Got past a few levels but couldn't get past one of them because I just suck. Fun game, thanks!

Wow! That's very good game! I really liked catapult mechanic! Also background music fits the game. Unfortunatelly, it's short :( It would be really great if you added more levels with more different mechanics. And then the full game will be done :)
