Quite a nice idea! In the beginning I didn't really like that you can move over tiles that were previously destroyed but I got used to it. After the getting to the part were you control 2 pieces the game got stuck or better said the bot got stuck when one of its pieces died.
I struggled a bit to understand some of the instructions most of the time I just went ahead and figured things out by playing the game.
I did like a lot how the game fit the theme. The music and art were quite nice as well.
Good job!

This game was originally meant to be a party game! But, experimenting and discovering by accidents fun stuff, made it turn into this instead

A charming and well-polished puzzle game that makes clever use of the jam’s constraints, both visually and mechanically. It feels unique, fun, and satisfying to play from start to finish. I enjoyed playing! This is what I thought in more detail:
Game play / Fun / Engagement ●●●●●
The game play is engaging and enjoyable across levels. It’s a cute kind of puzzle game that never feels frustrating, even when you lose. I especially liked the creative idea of using pentagons as dice! It’s original and adds variety. Sometimes clicking the dice was not working that well, but this is just a minor issue. Once you figure out how to “trick” the CPU, the challenge becomes a bit easier, but still it is fun to think about it! Overall, the experience is smooth, rewarding, and fun: 5/5.
Art Style / Visuals ●●●●●
The visuals are excellent. You stuck to the given shapes in a way that feels natural and seamless, combining 2D and 3D elements in a unique style. Animations, colors, and presentation are all on point. Honestly, I wouldn’t even realize the game was limited to circles and pentagons and pyramids/spheres without being told. Strong 5/5.
Audio / Sound Design ●●●●●
The music sets a chill, vibey atmosphere that matches the game play perfectly. Simple but well-chosen SFX complement the actions and enhance everything without being distracting. A very fitting and polished audio design...5/5.
Theme ●●●●●
The theme fits. You not only have limited space due to disappearing platforms, but your movement is also restricted by the dice you roll. It’s a smart and engaging interpretation of “limited space.” Full 5/5.
A very nice strategy game! It limits space due to the floors falling away, that's also the idea I went with, so what can I say... It must be brilliant! 😉 The computer did well too, I lost quite a few times. That's an impressive build, Softdev! Woah!
Wow, i cannot believe you made such an in depth strategy game in such a short time. Like thats seriously brilliant. And the AI doesn't just act randomly? That crazy, especially in a week.
The music for this game was nice, and the visuals were great. The pentagons work incredibly well as the tiles, and the adjacent ones being steps (since they don't tesselate) - the level design was great. The game fits the theme bang on. Adding multiple pieces made it really interesting, but my strategy flopped when the wrong enemy piece teleported ahah. Seriously, make this a table top game (randomly generating levels could be interesting). Gg
Yes it is! The thing it prioritizes changes based on the AI type: it can either be defensive; Prioritizing hoarding dices, or offensive; closing in on the player. Smarter AI also knows what is the best player move, and the optimal dice to use; preferring more common dices over others.
It's easy to underestimate the amount of strategy that, what can look like a random game, has to offer. Understanding its logic, and the basics game mechanics, enables you to win almost 100% of the games. ;)
I think itch lost my original comment when it was down. I remember talking about how the early levels were a little unfair as there wasn’t much to do but as more dice and paths open up it gets more interesting and the AI is quite challenging. Is it min max? It definitely didn’t feel random.
There is an AI, it gets more complex as the game progresses. I understand that the game can feel a bit unfair, that is normal, because this is not a puzzle game. if i continue working on the project, it would probably become a party game. Thats because that randomness makes the game more replayable and laid back, making for a more casual and relaxing experience, where even if you are a pro the results are never 100% garanteed, making it more engaging and less predictable.
Thank you for playing and leaving feedback! 🙂
Really liked the art on this game, well done! The gameplay was interesting too and did a great job at matching the theme. I liked how each level introduced a new mechanic. It did seem weird that the levels keep progressing even when you lose. On one hand it's nice that the player can experience all the levels (especially for a game jam), but on the other hand it felt like I wasn't learning the right strategies while the gameplay was simpler. Anyways, great job!
I liked how minimalistic this game is, though it's still pretty engaging also the mechanics are pretty inspiring that I might end up using it in one of my projects 😁!
This is quite elaborate, in terms of rules and concept—great effort. I feel like I need to play more to figure out what the right strategy is. It’s easier toward the end of the game to see what the right move should be, which is quite common in games like this, I think. I appreciate the consistent style of the game, although I’d like a more polished look over rough edges of the shapes and text—but that’s just a personal preference. Excellent submission.
The visuals and gameplay feel so natural, that you completely forget about the Limited Shapes constraint. I think for the theme and visuals its a perfect execution.
The sound is quite appealing as well because it has the 'board game' type feel, which matches the aesthetic.
I'd love to give feedback, but there just isn't anything that should have been done differently. Really strong game!
this is so far the best game I have played in this jam !!!
really love th idea , which fit really well the theme .. and the art style, sfx and music are perfect
the only problem with the game that I feel it's too random with dices rool , and that's ok because in the end this a game made in 9 days ..
I wouldn't be surprised if you win the jam
Got a 3/7 score :) Really nice and engaging turn based game, i had a lot of fun playing this! The core gameplay was simple but had enough of variation and chance to make me think about strategy in each turn and the enemy AI was also well designed. I like the artstyle and also how you have used the pentagons for dice and the platforms, doesnt feel like theres any compromise inspite of the limitation! Background score also fit the style of play.
One issue in the later stages was that the pentagons felt a bit crowded so it was a bit difficult to visualize the different paths. so maybe you could do something to make that a bit clear.
Other than that a really nice entry, well done!
