Really nice farming loop! Everything felt really tight and it felt really satisfying watching the crops pop up - I found myself drawing little patterns for them to grow in :)

Like others have mentioned, only thing I had trouble with was the camera movement which was a little strong

Awesome entry!

Nice, relaxing farming game! The sfx feedback when placing a bunch of seeds was really satisfying. The only thing I had trouble with was the camera movement seemed a bit much, especially having to click back and forth between the tools and the crops. Otherwise, great job!

Neat little loop and a good entry for the first jam. I think i did soft-lock myself eventually by having no money or seeds? Couldn't see a way to get more but i might have overlooked it?
Also the camera follow felt a bit strong, but as someone who has tried to implement it in the past, i know how difficult it is to get it 'right' so i'm not gonna fault you for trying it.
Nice work, you should both be proud.

Hey man, thanks for taking the time to play my game! There was a feature that I wasn't able to get in the mini-tutorial on the itch page that allowed you to pick up/destroy blocks with right click; this system allows you to sell any extra grass you could find to earn some extra cash, and prevent you from soft-locking yourself. Thanks for the kind words, good luck with the jam!

I'm a big fan of farming games, so I'm really glad I stumbled upon your game! It was super relaxing to simply use my mouse to grow my garden, and slowly get more and more gold by growing and selling more crops! The crops growing quickly was something I appreciated.

Fantastic work! I'll be coming back to this to enjoy the music and vibes again :)

Great entry! I like this classic approach to theme!

Game is well design, I did not have any problems with controlling. I quickly found out how to extend my field. Great work! Shop mechanic with economy is nice add-on, make the game loop complete.

I like art style with music, nice combination you got this chill vibe, cool!

Good job and congratulations on your submission!

Loved the atmosphere in this one, it was very chill and quite relaxing to play. Big positive for making the crops grow fast, it never felt like I had to wait too long to be able to see my crops go so I can sell them and grow my field. Very satisfying to play, I quite enjoyed it :)

Lovely atmosphere on this one. The colour palette is warm and cohesive, and the way everything sits visually gives the whole game a soft, mellow feel. I found myself really liking the minimalist UI and how intuitive it all felt, especially during the planting and selling loop.

There’s a peaceful rhythm to the gameplay that works really well for a jam entry. Would be great to see how it could grow with new crops, upgrades or seasonal effects especially with that Expansion theme in mind.

Thanks so much for the kind words, I really appreciate it!

This was cute and felt great to play! It was very satisfying to sweep the world with plants and tools, and then watch your efforts ripple to life.  The music felt great, unobtrusive, and very cozy.

Some general critiques:

  1. The SFX slider doesn't have feedback, it would be a great if it played a sample SFX when you released the slider or periodically as the slider moved
  2. The counts on the top right blend into the background.  Consider giving that area a shading or background to improve readability.
  3. The tool buttons  sit alone above the game area, which is cool for immersion and style, but can possibly lead to misclicks.  Consider if the buttons were together or had a frame to prevent misclicking in between the buttons

Thank you so much for the suggestions! I'll make sure to keep those elements in mind in future projects, have a good day!

Fun game! I liked the chill vibe and expanding the island was cool. I liked that the crops grew quick too, and it was nice to be able to hold down the mouse and drag to water/plant many at once. The camera was smooth which looked nice but it was a bit dizzying sometimes when you mouse down to the menu at the bottom. I also wasn’t sure what sell grass did at first, I thought it was to remove land you’ve already placed. When you get later in the game it would be good to have a buy multiple seeds option so you don’t have to click a hundred times. Fun game!

Hey thanks for the feedback! The sell grass button was there to prevent you from soft-locking yourself by buying too much grass. Good luck with the jam!

Nice work, I particularly like the sprite work of the plants evolving! One thing which is my major critique is in the controls. Interpolating cameras can seem to make the game more polished, but you shouldn't interpolate mouse camera movement. A mouse is a device made for precision, and so it's preferable to just let the user choose where to click instead of panning the camera smoothly. This way they might accidentally click something they didn't want to :)

Congratulations on your first game jam, hope to see you in the next one!

Thanks so much for the feedback! I never saw the mouse as a device of precision before, but now that you explained it, it makes a lot more sense to think about it that way. Good luck with the Jam!
