The visuals are great! I didn't quite understand the mechanics, with it working sometimes and not working others, but still a pretty cute game!

Loved thinking through the ways to expand through the map. Good stuff! Keep making awesome games!

Very fun and cozy game!  I feel like i could get lost in planning the ultimate one shot expansion across the entire map.

I do have a slight accessibility concern with the tree colors as they are kind of the same detail and brightness level.  Someone with varying kinds or levels of color blindness may have trouble seeing the difference between the red and green trees.

The VOD is linked below, and will be available for 60 days:

Thanks so much for playing! Was really interesting watching you play through it and really highlights areas for improvement in the tutorials and other bits of gameplay!

That massive chain was fantastic to watch :D

Great point about the colour blindness accessibility - I will give my palette a run through a contrast checker for any future updates I make!

Absolutely loved the game! The intro was a warm welcome. I think we've has a similar approach to the theme but your take is way more relaxing and polished. Great game!

Chilly, amusing game! Music is really well match for the game

Perfect for autumn evenings to recover after work :D

I really like how you polished the game, intro is well design probably the best from all games here, amazing!

Not sure but do you generate levels on fly?

Great job and congratulations on your submission!

Developer

Thank you very much! I put quite a lot of time into the vibe and I’m glad so many people are enjoying it :)

You’re right! Each “run” is a new perlin noise map that the tiles are generated from!

This game is truly phenomenal, I absolutely adored the pixel art and music, they both worked SO well together to make a trully peaceful and charming experience. The idea itself was also very good and creative. The gameplay also felt really nice! Here's a bit of feedback:

1. The mouse button felt a little confusing at first, since I didn't know where I would actually click every time I clicked the mouse, if that makes sense. At first, I thought it would be in the center, so I was clicking on a tree I wanted to expand to and it wouldn't work, after some trial and error I figured out that the click was positioned at the tip of the mouse, and that made the experience much better.

2. Consider implementing a drag mode for the endless mode. Sometimes I just felt like dragging the leaves all across the map and spread leaves to my heart's content, but I couldn't really create that effect all the way without a way to drag the autumn vibes to all the trees (maybe I should have mushroom spammed more to be honest).

3. Lastly, the zoom felt a little delayed. Whenever I would zoom in, it would take a while for it to actually react to my input, so it felt a little slow compared to the other feedback I was receiving from the other buttons and actions.

Overall this was a really great experience, congrats on greating a fantastic game!

Thank you so much! I’m so glad you had a nice time with it :)

That’s great feedback, thank you! I definitely want to introduce hover highlighting so you know which tree you’re interacting with.

I hadn’t considered the drag interaction but it’s a great idea! Will have a play around with that for the endless mode, I think that’d be very fun!

Yeah I think I went a little overboard with the easing and kind of slapped it everywhere XD Still haven’t landed on my preferred zoom solution so it’s great to get some feedback on it so I can do some more iteration!

The music is everything :)

Well done!

Thank you! :) So glad you enjoyed it!

Pretty music :D and the game felt very polished with it's opening panning animation + title card sequence. I played on trackpad which made the zooming in and out a little difficult, and the first time I loaded up the game it froze on a leaf but wasn't able to reproduce so maybe just a browser issue. I really enjoyed the satisfying and soothing sound/color-change of chain reactions , great job with this!

Developer

Very glad you enjoyed it! :D

Trackpad input is definitely on my list of things to work on in the future! Haven’t seen that issue with the freezing leaf before - if you can remember anything about what you were doing at the time or would be happy to share what browser you’re using that’d be super helpful for future debugging!

I tried reproducing again but not successful. I'm on chrome and I think the only thing that I might have done was press spacebar or click the screen once the intro animation ended? I figure if no one else ran into this then it could be a good chance that it's just a me issue!

beautifully crafted game, the music makes you feel home, I see great musical talents in this jam :)
By now I think everything is said about this game, and I agree with all of it.

I just have a thing that I didn't understand, if you place a mushroom over a pine, the pine disappear, is this intented? if it is, what are pines for? just "decoration"?

good entry! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words :) Really glad you enjoyed the music!

So the pine thing is not intentional, the pines came in later and I intended them as a kind of blocker that can’t be turned so have to be worked around. In my haste, I forgot to add them to the check when a mushroom is placed as the other trees are!

That’s going in the bug log!

Relaxing, almost like popping bubble wrap.

Nice stuff! I zoned out for a good 5-10 just tapping trees, kinda what i needed after work today.

Developer(+1)

Definitely two routes for the future of this: a puzzle game where you have to try to turn an area of trees in a given number of turns and a chill mode where you can just go nuts!

Very glad you had a relaxing time with the latter idea! :D
