Anoxia more like Anxiety. Really well done setting the mood and atmosphere, visuals are also amazing!
Wait that's actually perfect hahaha.
Honestly... it sums up the whole vibe that we were going for.
Thanks a lot!! really glad you liked the atmosphere & the visuals!!! <3
Okay my god this looks amazing! There's this tension built into the world where I HATE turning around. Every note, every room, I slowly face the door expecting there to be something. It's like the world is also DARK and yet there's enough lights and visuals to navigate, which is impressive. I think wehat also makes it unsettling, is when I look down a corridoor that I'm passing, the set of double lights make my brain go "Eyes!" and I need a second to adjust. Also your menu makes me so envious!
As far as criticism, which isn't much, the barrels and other objects don't have colliders, just tables and chairs. It also seems like we're supposed to be under water but that's not what I'm visually seeing. Really small things honestly. Also the keypad, I was entering the code wrong cause the 0 wasn't where I was expected and I went on autopilot and thoghut I had the wrong code and explroed more thoroughly for an extra ten minutes
This is...so fantastic! I'm only a few minutes in so I'll update as I progress but I gave you max ratings.
It was honestly so much fun reading this, thank you so so much!! We are very grateful for your kind rating <3
We're really glad the tension landed, because the unsettling feeling of the environment is exactly what we were aiming for.
We wanted to make barrels and gas tanks have physics but we ran out of time :/ so we left them there for visuals and hopefully for the future we'll do much more.
We also ran out of time to polish the under-watery look of the game, but we'll Avsoloutly polish it if we work on this project post-jam!!
Seriously appreciate the detailed feedback and those ratings, it really really means a ton!!!! <3
The lack of colliders made it way easier to check them though lol, so it kinda works out? Also I lvoe how the running animation seems like you are losing your MIND in terror lol it's like you intended that to be used only under specific circumstances lmao
Okay I got through the keypad door, read a note, opened the first doo, heard footsteps but didn't see WHERE they were comnig from and I LOST MY SHIT. okay? I abolustely LOST MY SHIT. I had NO compure. I would have pushed over my own mother in panic.
AHAHAHA this is so funny, you don't know how much fun we're having while reading your comments, this makes us so happy!!! <333
Wow, the game is so atmospheric but it crashed 2 times already, first time, when I filled up the air and shortly after the first encounter. But you did a really great job.
Not sure why that happens, from the feedback that we got -> very few has had this issue (probably 1 or 2), so it's kinda hard to pinpoint exactly what the issue is, hopefully we find out and fix it so you can try it crash-free.
Anyways thank you & we are glad you liked it!! + Sorry for any inconveniences that might've ruined your experience. <3
Rating this before the deadline
Thank you! that's so sweet!!! I truly means a lot.
I would love to hear your feedback once you try the game!
Really wanted to try it but it kept saying virus detected
No problem happens with some games, hope you can try it in the future!!
This game feels so somber, and mellow, but yet there's always a sense of anxiety.
I didn't end up completing it, because i wanted to get this review in on time, but the visuals are stellar, and i love the monster design
Thank you a lot!!!! that means a ton! We 100% were going for that quite tension, calm at first but then something starts feeling off.
Super glad that the idea came across, and Happy that you liked the visuals and the creature design too (some people consider it a reflection of yourself [the player character]).
It's a pleasure that you took the time to play and rate our game!! Thank you again! <3
I am currently fighting Windows over the virus threat when trying to download :/ Which is a shame since I really wanted to try this as screenshots remind me of SOMA.
Unfortunately, that happens a lot with windows builds, we've encountered this multiple times when trying out other games.
I hope you're able to fix it, because I genuinely think you'd love our game!! If you're not able to fix them, then no pressure at all! We hope you enjoy other games as well <3
holy shit this is insanely well made, and everything is done with so much style. The title screen animation is really cool, the controls feel smooth, and the environment design is SO COOL
really enjoyed this, it's crazy. Definitely going to spend a good while exploring this
Thank you so much!! That truly means a lot!!
We spend a ton of time polishing the atmosphere and getting that smooth coherent feel, so we're really glad it came through.
Hope you enjoy exploring it, there is a few details tucked around for you to find ; )
Feel free to share any more feedback or interesting things you found in-game <3
dude I'm not very good at finding secrets but I'm having a ton of fun playing
Also been meaning to ask, is there a possible multiplayer update coming anytime in the future?
We've left quite a lot of Easter eggs, glad you're having fun finding them all!!
As for adding multiplayer to this project; We've been working on another multiplayer horror project for quite a bit now, it'll be way above this in terms of quality!! Keep an eye out for it and we'll keep you updated :D. So we're not quite sure yet If we are gonna add multiplayer here, this is our first time finishing a game + participating in a game jam, so we're still learning... We may update this to include more randomness -> such as the codes change or different rooms every time you paly, that would really make this replayable and hopefully more fun!
that's sick news I'll for sure look forward to both of those, glhf!
kinda gives me SOMA vibes. really impressed you were able to do this in 5 days, you're very talented! :D
Hearing that means a lot!!!! thank you so much!!
We pushed hard during those 5 days, so it's awesome to see it pay off, Really appreciate the kind words ;D
okay, redo time!
this finally worked for me, yippee!
eveything was SO pretty and polished, i loved it. i wasnt able to play it all the way to whatever end it has, but i loved searching for key cards and finding papers, i loved moving forward, everything was so, so atmospheric. im assuming we're supposed to be under water, i would've LOVED some spooky water feature to showcase this. i think it wouldve made people squirm. i didn't like (in the good way) how empty the key card level was, because i thought things were going to jump out at me ngl! but, i erally enjoyed this and even though my computer struggled so hard with it: it was so worth it in the end!
Yoo finally!! I'm so glad it worked for you this time hahaha
Really happy you pushed through all the download issues just to play it, it truly mean a lot!!
Glad the atmosphere hit the way we hoped, and yes you're underwater... adding more under-watery effects is something we'll try if we update this further.
Hearing that you excepted something to jump out at you -- got us smiling ngl 😄😄
Appreciate you sticking with it and sharing your experience, that seriously made our day <3
Alright finally getting a chance to play! Updating as I play (like you did for mine! haha):
- OMG this game is absolutely gorgeous! The menu, the sound effects, everything!
- Wow, the sounds are great! Very subtle, but nicely done! The UI is top knotch as well!
- Great job giving plenty of room for raycast focusing on the keycards and keypad. Its simple, but so many get this wrong and make it precise. This is great!
- The death animation was awesome! This game looks and performs amazing for unity! You all clearly know what your doing. haha.
- I can walk inside the yellow barrels. lol
- Found some oxygen!
- Great design putting the oxygen near where you find your first keycard. Also glad I can refill as much as needed.
- These graphics are absolutely insane!
- I wish I could read the letter without my oxygen depleting. I'm a pretty slow reader. haha.
- Lol. Found the septic eye pipe. haha
- Okay, got into the next area. Stressing about that knocking. haha
- Found a creepy chair. lol.
- ooooh spooky red! haha.
- I'm glad you made the recharging station glow green. Great design and UX!
- lol. the chairs are sentient!
- lmao, i'm here for the chair oxegen tank fued. haha
- Oh wow I actually got the code right! haha. I spent forever trying to find another number and I was like "well 35 is suspiciously even with 2025 so lets try 1990" and it worked!
Overall this was insanely good! Its minimal, but well executed! The graphics are top notch, the sound design was great, the UX was well done, and the dialogue pretty funny. Some of the writing was actually really sad and had some great introspection to them. That said, I have no idea what the story is about. lol. Between the sentient furniture and the crew seemingly going crazy thinking that there is a monster after them? Tie that in with the furniture being on the ceilings and stuff, yeah I got no idea. haha. I didn't see the theme at play much, but I also only died 1 time so maybe I needed to run out of oxygen more?
Overall fantastic work! You all clearly know what your doing! I would love to see some other projects you all have worked on in before this!
Thank you so much for this!!!
I'm glad you gave notes as you played that was awesome hahaha, I hope more people do what we did cuz it felt like watching you play but in text form.
Really appreciate how you liked the UI and SFX, we really poured our heart in this --> to make a great and memorable experience for anyone who plays it, also we love how you noticed the little things like the oxygen placement and keycards being next to them (kind of a tutorial without actually having one), and I'm glad that you seem to have finished the game fairly fast which make us so happy.
Yeaaah... about the chairs.... they kinda got a mind of their own 😂😂
Glad you enjoyed the visuals as well, we spent a lot of time getting the lighting to look just right.
The story is meant to feel confusing at first but you actually picked up on most of the clues, which is amazing!! Good job!!
The theme plays out so each time you die you get more clarity; so it becomes an opportunity to both escape that place and/or let go of the things that are holding you back and making peace with yourself. (whether it's guilt or other feelings)
Depending on your understanding of the opportunity you could get the second ending pretty easily (we think).
Thanks again for playing this, it was so much fun to read your feedback with the detailed breakdown, you don't know how happy this makes us, seriously means a lot!!!
[ We uploaded an updated version where the game pauses so you can read freely, highly recommend downloading the patched version if you plan on diving in again ; ) ]
Yooooo it was extrimely cool to play!
(I borrow my friands laptop for this, 'cause mine can't handle the graphics lol)
Concept and visuals on extreme level! This footsteps thing? Incredible.
It was a pleasure to me to play in your game ~
You didn't have to do all that lmao, Honestly Thanks a lot for going out of your way to try our game, really glad you liked the visuals it really means a lot :" )
Broooooo I haven’t even played yet and the ominous vibes and atmosphere is already set in!!! I can’t play until I get home but this is definitely going on my list and I’m rating it fairly based on what I know about the game! :)
Honestly take your time... It means a lot that u rated it, thank you so much! Glad the atmosphere hit before you played it lmao. Still can't wait to hear your feedback once you try it out : ) <3
Very visually impressively, especially for a unity game jam. Cool concept and gameplay, nice work
Thanks a lot!! Really appreciate you taking the time to play our game, seeing you play it was honestly so much fun !!
It was a blast! If only I was playing on more sleep though, hahahaha.
This is INSANE!! I don’t know how you managed to put this together in only 5 days, it looks so good and the controls and camera are very smooth. Also this hits on all my favorite horror themes! I love underwater horror (which you don’t see a ton of!) and abandoned facility horror. I also generally really like old sea diver suits, lol! Such an impressive project and absolutely a game I’ll be playing for fun after the jam is over. So impressed by this!!
Thank you so much <3 That really means a lot. We're glad you enjoyed it!! We were able to to put this in 5 days with the help of a ton of caffeine and little sleep lmao, that underwater horror vibe is what exactly we wanted to capture and we're glad you were able to experience it.
i tried downloading this game to play but my computer wont let me because its detecting a virus D: !!!!! i was really looking forward to this oh no
No worries at all :) We are sorry to hear that - it's just a thing with these Windows build since you need to build up SmartScreen credit. Your game was great keep it up <3
ughhh i wanted to play it so bad :( im sorry!! if you put out a browser version let me know!!
We didn't put up a browser version, however we did patch the game and reuploaded a slightly better version, we would love u to try it out and give us some feedback, no pressure at all btw. If the same problem persists then -- no problem at all... We're glad you wanted to try, it actually means a lot!!
i tried to download it to play but now windows wants to run a million security scans D: i cant win!!
oh my god it opened
Well done you guys! I was getting a lot of "Soma" and "Narcosis" vibes from this. When I first heard those footsteps and realized they weren't mine, I literally froze. Honestly, it was way scarier just hearing the thing wander around and not seeing it than when it actually got me the first time. After that, it seemed as though whenever I heard the footsteps it just meant that the thing was coming for me and there was no way to stop it, maybe consider making it a thing where it does will walk by a room when the player is in there unless the player except if the player sprints while inside? I didn't get to the end, but the bits of the story I gathered from the notes and death cutscenes were intriguing. If you're considering patching it up after the jam, I would love to give it another go!
Hii we have taken your feedback and are dropping an update today where the AI will most likely not enter your room (or enter very deep into it) unless he's heard sound there or you're hiding/waiting too much.
Thank you so much for your valuable feedback <3 we appreciate you taking the time to play our game and comment,
This has a gripping atmosphere and a fairly compelling gameplay loop with needing to find keys and logs while keeping your oxygen up. I appreciate that the oxygen doesn't run out quickly! Once the diver dude showed up I felt like he respawned way too close and he even choked me out while I was reading a log, which seems a bit unfair. The game could also use more sound effects to really help sell the atmosphere. But all told I cannot believe how gorgeous this looks for a weekend game jam, and it plays so well! It's honestly a staggering achievement. Well done.
Thank you so much for your feedback <3 We are dropping an update today where we are modifying his spawn distance and making the game pause when reading a log so there's no chance he can sneak up on you and kill you.
We really appreciate you playing our game :)
I'm not the biggest fan of horror and this game had me on edge the entire time, which I'd say makes it a pretty damn good horror game. The visuals are amazing and the game feels well polished. I did encounter a couple of crashes sadly but that could be my PC's problem in fairness. Very good work!
Thank you so much for your nice comment <3 Glad you had fun playing the game. It's unfortunate to hear that your PC crashed multiple times during the game, we have not heard of this before so we are not sure what's the cause. If you ever want to play it again you could send us logs and we can try helping you but otherwise I'm not sure if there's anything we can do about it.
A good horror game with great atmosphere and storytelling. The sound design was also excellent, and juggling your oxygen while hiding was fun. Good use of hiding the codes without them being overly obvious and in your face. A lot of fun, but on my first ever run, he was kinda buggy. My first death, he "saw" me through a wall despite my sneaking everywhere and grabbed me. The next time, he dropped all pretense of pretending to see me and just grabbed me through the wall. And for the final time, he just stood next to me while reading a note and instantly caught me when I was done. After that, I just set about sprinting through the halls, consequences be damned, to get back to where I was because it seemed like the AI had x-ray vision, so hiding had little incentive vs just brute forcing, and ultimately that worked xD Great game overall. Touch up the AI to not have x-ray vision and remove his telekenesis, and there'd be no issues as far as I can tell!
Thanks for the in-depth comment!
That's quite funny to hear haha sorry he didn't act as completely intended lmaoo. From our testing he cannot see through walls but he can see through props - this wasn't a problem earlier because we had no props.. We will touch it up and fix it but we just need time and testing and it'll all be good. I'm glad you were incentivized to play a new way and adapt tho and I hope to make both playstyles equally as viable. He can grab you through the wall when you're hugging the wall from what I know so that needs to be fixed. Also this might be what leads him to "see" through the wall. Our theory is that the player model might slightly clip through the wall which lets him "see/grab" you. But I hope this lead to some jumpscares hahaha
I'm glad you had fun <3
