Finally got a chance to play your game, I had some problems downloading it. I love the style it is very unique everything looks like it was drawn for kids book, but with a twist haha! Amazing aesthetics,  great game :D

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

Really enjoyed the eerie forest setting and the Slavic-folk horror twist. The visual style and lighting draw you in, and I appreciated how day/night cycles changed the mood. Would love to see a little more on the story side and some varied sound cues, but overall excellent work!

Developer

Thanks!

I really like the idea! Slavic mythology rarely gets covered in games! However, I could not complete the game because I was confused about the mechanics and what needed to happen to win. The one-hand controls are not exceptionally comfortable, and the movement should have been in the arrow keys instead of WASD. The shooting mechanic did not work at all, I don't know if it's a glitch or not. Otherwise, good job!

Thanks for the feedback! Сould you tell me more about the shooting error?

I really like this, especially the aesthetics, and the gameplay mechanics. The fire decreasing our view is a fantastic add-on. Very well executed. I have to say once again, I really like this!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you very much! We are very pleased that you enjoyed the game!

Really cool hand-drawn art, I respect the effort! I was able to pick up the game mechanics quickly, and going through the cycles was fun. I always enjoy game with a good challenge, nice job!

Developer

Thanks! We tried very hard to achieve a balance so that it would not be too easy, it would not be too difficult

Beautiful game! It has a straightforward concept with easy to pick up mechanics. I like the fairytale, almost whimsical feel in the art. The stress I felt when trying to juggle the traps, gun and fire was eating away at my anxiety haha!

Nicely done on creating a creepily unique game! ^^

Thanks for the feedback!

I really liked the visual style and the simplicity of the gameplay. It's immediately clear what it takes to get through the night, and it's really cool that something new appears every night. You've got a beautiful game cycle. The only thing I would like to know is the timer of the night.

Спасибо за отзыв !

I really liked the hand drawn visuals and music! I also liked how the coordinates you put in the game actually are a real place in russia, that was pretty cool to find out.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the coordinates were not written randomly =)

Игра в лучших традициях русского геймдева (Гульман, Месть боксёра и т. д.)

Ахахахах забавное сравнение, спасибо за отзыв!

I really like the overall atmosphere of the game. It has a strange calmness outside the night scenes, which is interesting since day typically comes after a bunch of monsters or birds try to kill you. The radio conversations with our fellow soldiers tell a vague story, but you get the sense of it enough. You're completely alone in this war aside from this communication in the morning, and it often feels like the before or after the storm, even if your fellow soldiers probably aren't doing the best. It's a bit peaceful, as I said, showing one side of being alone in a war. You're safe for now, so it's calming, yet at night it becomes tense. You're alone, but in this case, only in the sense of having no allies but you, as things are surely coming out to kill you.

The gameplay was quite difficult for me, but I did manage to beat it. Everything felt solid gameplay wise; it never felt unfair or cheap, if that makes sense. I would love to see more games from you guys with this vibe, but I would love even more story. Really good work on the Gamejam boys.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! We are glad that you passed the game and liked it. We would really like to make a big game based on this universe with more interesting gameplay and with a deeper ent

Very solid theme and story that backs a quite entertaining game loop. I really enjoyed having to time my shots with picking up the sticks. Great game!

Strongest Game Of The Jam So Far For Me. The Artstyle, Sound Design, Story, And Mechanics All Worked In Harmony Culminating In A Spooky But Not Cheap Scares And Challenging But Not Punishing Game. Really Solid Work!

One of the standouts in terms of art for sure! The difficulty wasn't too bad for me, although I did struggle a bit towards the end. Overall really cool submission and definitely stands out!

Thank you!

Good gameplay, good sound design, good graphics, this is a great game overall!

I got stuck on night 3 as well though...

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the game turned out to be difficult, in general, as planned, but we are thinking of adding complexity in the future so that more people can complete the game!

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

Raaah, I’m stuck on level 3, but I’ll get there!

The difficulty increases rapidly, but I think it’s well done. Then, with practice, you’ll be able to succeed. Whether it’s picking up branches (not corrupt branch…), monsters on the ground or in the air, each feature adds a welcome complexity: it’s hard, but I want to succeed, to try again, because I feel like I’m improving.

There is also a lot of work being done on the art. The background is evolving, for example.

I really like how the two bullets reload automatically. It’s useful, but also something you have to manage, like the traps. In fact, I can stack traps on top of each other. Maybe you could make it so that a trap stacked on top of another trap will also be consumed? To avoid just spamming traps near the fire, but to push players who manage their traps well to place them further apart to maintain their effectiveness?

Adding mouse aiming would change the dynamics of the game, I think. But I wouldn’t be against it.

Well done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! We are very glad that you enjoyed the game!

The game is really not easy, you can say 3 nights is the threshold, testing your strength. I liked your trap idea, I wrote it down in my notes. As for mouse pointing, we had this option during development, but we decided to leave such unusual controls for the gun, as it seems to us it creates the weight of the weapon

damn second night is already hard and it starts so easy :D cool game and idea :)

Thanks!

Great game, great aesthetic, sound design, seems quite polish, but the gameplay is too hard and I stuck at level 3.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The game really turned out to be quite difficult, in the future we plan to add complexity to the game

Developer(+1)

When I saw it was a tower defense game, I was curious about what kind of style it would be — and I think you integrated the theme of facing monsters in the forest wonderfully.
Lighting fires, setting traps, shooting guns — it all fits perfectly!

The artwork is really unique. It has a slightly rough texture, which goes so well with the forest setting and even the font used in the text.
(The font’s texture reminds me of the kind of static noise you’d hear from an old radio — it’s a great match!)

Oh, and I have a question — did you draw inspiration from real folklore?
I’m not an expert, but I’m very interested in folklore from around the world.
If it’s not too much to ask, could you share which folklore inspired this game?

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your feedback! We are glad that you liked the game.

Regarding your question: Yes, we were inspired by real folklore, in the game most of the enemies are weird from Slavic folklore, a bestiary was planned, but we did not have time to make it >.<

The game featured mythological creatures such as Bes (Бес), raven Navi (Ворон Нави), Likho (Лихо), Leshi(Леший)

Submitted (1 edit) (+2)

Ah, I've heard of a few of those. Some are completely new to me! I'll have to look up the books.

By the way, bestiary idea is really brilliant! I'm so sad because it couldn't be added to the game due to time constraints.

If the game gets expanded, I'd really love to see it included!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

We would really like to develop this universe and make a big game in the future.
According to our plans, the bestiary should be an integral part of the world

The art is something else- Amazing! The gameplay and the story are nice. Well done :)
