Wow, Love the art!! It's full of details, the music is very nice, sound design could be a little lower when you walk is a bit muddy, don't know, it didn't help to immerse completely. It just need some tweaks here and there. Overall, is very nice! Well done

I really loved the illustration work. It's really well done and full of details. Great job!

Great art and cool idea, but it's unfinished. Hopefully you can find the time to finish it up later.

Artstyle was awsome and music fit the vibes very well.

Feedback:
- I found many objects that I could walk right on and infront of. Seems colliders needs to be placed more and spirte sorting in game could have been better
- I would have liked if the pages were more inside the water like the mans feet but they seemed to just be hovering ontop of the water
- I wish when you got a page you saw a page with writitng on it to make them feel more personal

Fun game tho and awsome vibe!

Pretty good artwork and music

Art and story concept was cool. I was unsure where to go/what to do, but the whale belly purgatory type ideas here are worth expanding on. I love nautical stuff and whale falls IRL so the game grabbed my attention.

Wait so when you end up outside the whale looking at the eye is not the end?

Developer

That's the end! If we come back to this project at some point, maybe we can make that a  bit clearer.

i actually liked the end

Feels unfinished but the concept and artwork are pretty damn good. Hopefully we can see a post-jam version.

The scale is done really well. The camera being zoomed out works nicely to make the player feel small too. I am not sure if there was more to the game aside from collecting and reading notes. Great horror vibes.

Aw, we got Jonah'd :P Interesting concept, but nothing really seems to be... happening? I'm walking around, looking at all the notes, interacting with everything, waiting for that "strange eel creature" to make an appearance, but nothing yet - idk.

(1 edit)

Hey, programmer here, and thanks for playing! Those enemies you encountered were the eel creatures.

Submitted (1 edit)

That's just it, I didn't encounter any enemies - no one in here but us sailors :/

This is an incredibly unique concept from a story and art perspective. I also really enjoyed the music. The largest area for improvement would be in the gameplay and mechanics. Maybe something like a sprint mechanic for the man to get around the area a bit quicker. I was also slightly confused by the majority of the notes referencing mushrooms. Never managed to find them but I assume that's how you progress the gameplay loop. Overall quite enjoyable for a quick play.

Thank you so much, and thank you for playing! There's a bit more variety on the notes now, but unfortunately no mushrooms to find yet. Maybe in a future update haha
