Great game! It needs introduction because i didn't know what i was supposed to do and just clicked everywhere. Also, i am not sure if it was intended but the only puzzle i solved it was with the box with the numbers. I didn't solve anything else and the game was completed.
it certainly holds the player's attention.
The music loop is very unnerving as well.
good stuff
Hey — I liked your game The Mirror in the Room, the broken-shard puzzle setup had a really compelling eerie vibe. I ran into a bug where clicking to close the book sometimes activated the right arrow and took me to the next room unintentionally. One suggestion: giving each clickable object a subtle outline or glow when hovered would make the interactable items stand out more clearly. If you’ve got a moment, I’d love it if you checked out my game and dropped a rating: /jam/gamedevtv-halloween-jam-2025/rate/3971977
— thanks so much and best of luck in the jam! 🎃
Although I'm not a fan of 2D and puzzle games, this was interesting and done well. At times I was not sure what to do next but I got a feel for it and reached the end.
Plus: it had a spooky mood, fitting for Halloween (but where was the "old TV" reference?). It was a "what had happened here / how to fix it" riddle. Abstract but solvable.
Minus: The texts should stay longer. The music was too monotone and repetitive.
Definitely the right atmosphere for a Halloween game.
Just two quick pieces of feedback:
Also, can you let me know how you think your game ties with the theme?
Sorry I don't enjoy point and click games very much, but the idea was there for sure. Climate and the music gives us really nice vibe. Good one for sure, but not my tastes.
Excellent ambience - the music and graphics both contribute to the creepy and mysterious atmosphere of the game. This would be a tense game to play late at night with all the lights off. On the technical side of things, I had problems running it using Firefox browser on Linux (won't launch and gives an error saying that GPL2 is not installed, but it is installed). But it worked in another browser. As a slight improvement, I might suggest modifying the UI to allow the user to drag objects within the window to other objects, unless the intent of the design is solely to read/inspect the objects without having the objects directly interact. And as an extra feature, I might suggest implementing a hint system for the user in case the user doesn't know what to do next, which is not an uncommon scenario in these types of "point and click" interactive games. In any case, well done especially the creepy/mysterious atmosphere both visually and audibly.
Well done game. The music was just slightly creepy. The face getting unhappy was funny. The interface was good. I got the candle lit!
I don't really enjoy these point and click mystery games very much. I did try it but ultimately it looked like it was going to require me to take notes and I wasn't in the mood.
Good game for the genre.
interesting puzzle game and nice eire theme and feel.
I got stuck with the can opener,.. couldn't get it to open then can in the fish tank,.. not sure if im just missing somthing though,
Great job on this interesting game
Very well done, it reminds me of those all point and click games.
I enjoyed finding all the shards, the puzzle difficulty is well balanced.
Great job!
I am not sure what I just played, but I've enjoyed the gameplay and the atmosphere! More then that, now I want to make something like that by myself :)
I quite enjoyed this game. The puzzles were difficult enough to challenge me but not so difficult that I got frustrated. I enjoyed the art and the story the game told. Keep up the great work!
Very cool game! It reminded me of those point and click puzzle games from the 90s and early 2000s. I really wanted to finish it, but I got lost after talking to the girl in the library and didn’t know what to do next. I really enjoyed the puzzles here and there and liked the variety. It seems like you thought everything out very well, great game design.
Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t quite see how the game fits the theme. Maybe you can explain it to me, I’d love to hear it (or should I say read it). The game could also benefit from a bit more polishing here and there, especially art wise. Overall, a wonderful entry!
I love these types of games very fun. cool puzzels and atmosphere!
Your game kept my attention all the way to the end. I thought you did a great job with the puzzles - very "Rusty Lake". I could play this type of game all day. The inventory was a little confusing. I hard a hard time telling if the item was highlighted for use or if I was in fact doing anything with selected objects.
I found a small bug - when closing the book, I think the arrow to move right is still active, so when clicking to close the book I sometimes clicked the right arrow and was confusingly taken to the next room.
