Neat game, a good start for learning a new engine! Sorry about the bug, there's always a bug we miss during these jams.

Thanks a lot! 😊

I really appreciate your words. I’ll check out your game and leave a review in a moment 👌

It’s a really fun shooter, however I got stuck on the upgrade selection screen. :( Besides that this has a lot of room for upgrades and you should definitely update the game after the ratings end. Add some more enemy types and your golden! Great game!

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊 I really appreciate it.
I’m already working on the game — I want to expand it a lot, and I actually have a list of mechanics that I’ve been missing in games for many, many years, so now I just have to stay committed and not give up 😄

Combat is only a small part of what the full game is supposed to be, but for the jam I only managed to finish that part in time. I’m really happy you enjoyed it!

Right now I’m trying to fix the UI / upgrade issue — the game freezes because of the way I implemented pause, so I’m debugging that first 😅

Thanks again for playing and for the feedback! 🙏🔥

You really should add a retry button, but overall it was pretty fun, if you have time don't forget to try my game

Developer(+1)

Thanks, that’s a good idea! 😊
And thanks for playing — really appreciate it.
I also tried your game just now 👌

Got stuck on the upgrade, unfortunately... I was hoping to finally kill off the zombies instead of running away from them:( But nice work anyways! If you have a minute then please try my game:)

Developer(+1)

Haha, there’s a huge horde coming after about 2 minutes, so you really have to run for your life 😆
The upgrades are broken — I didn’t have time to test the mouse selection system before the deadline, so it doesn’t work right now 😅

Thanks for playing, I appreciate it!
I also tried your game 👌

I couldn't get past due to a bug when picking upgrades, but anyways congratulations on your first finished project! That's a lot and I hope you continue this way of learning.

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊
Yeah, unfortunately I didn’t have time to properly test the upgrade clicking system before submitting, so it’s broken right now. The mouse cursor was supposed to appear to let you choose upgrades, but I ran out of time and submitted the build literally at the last moment 😅

And thank you for the congratulations — that means a lot! 🙏
I’m planning to join the 1-bit jam next, and after that I want to finish the full version of this game.

Interesting! Surprisingly solid and well-built video game for a developer who has only been using GDevelop for a month. The sound, the movement, the colliders… all work smoothly. I would only miss some kind of ambient sound or zombie music, hehe.

It’s a real shame that you didn’t have time to implement the upgrade system and a scoring system, because then I would have spent hours trying to be in first place, hehehe. But the game is pretty solid!

Well done and keep up the good work :)

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊 I really appreciate your feedback.
I want to finish my full vision for the game after the jam, and I’m thinking about trying to remake it with some 3D assets too.
About the ambient sounds — I honestly didn’t even think about that 😅 but now I’ll definitely pay attention to it, it’s a great point.

Pretty great looking game good job.

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot! 😊 I tried my best to make it look decent using free assets, and it was actually my first time making a top-down game.
Right now I’m playing around with Meshy.ai to make my own 3D models, so the next game should look much nicer 😄

Also I’m not sure if it’s because of my weak laptop or my slow copper-cable internet connection, but your game was freezing for me when the timer started and the doors opened.
One second was lasting like 15 seconds on my end 😅 so I couldn’t really play it properly or give it a fair rating

Fun little survival shooter nice work on the build could have fit the theme a little better but otherwise great work.

Would love if you could please try out our game too.

Developer

Thanks! 😊 The game was originally supposed to have a story and more choices and control options, but I just couldn’t finish everything in time.

I’ll check out your game 👌

nice game i like the idea.

Developer

Thanks a lot! 😊
I’m planning to finish the game within the next 3 months. Right now I’m playing around with Meshy.ai and making some 3D models, so I’ll come back to it soon.
I’ll check out your game too 👌

Wanted to give a shot but no mobile controls    :( I'm too broke to have a laptop or PC.

Developer

I was actually thinking about adding mobile controls, but I’m still just starting out and didn’t know how to do it properly yet. And I barely managed to submit the game a few minutes before the deadline 😅 so I didn’t have time to add it or even test everything — the upgrade clicking is broken too haha.

Awesome work on this! I left you a rating. I also have a horror survival game in the jam! Please give our Game Jam game a play if you have a minute.

Developer

Thanks a lot! 🙏 I really appreciate it.

I’ll check out your game in a moment!

Nice work on your game, especially for just one month of game dev! I really wanted to finish it since it hits some nostalgia, but encountered a bug where I couldn't pick upgrades, maybe it's just my device. I can see the vision though, and with a bit more time im sure it would be more polished.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the comment! 😊 I actually joined the jam late, so I only had about 6 days to make the game 🤣 The upgrades really don’t work, because I submitted the build literally 2 minutes before the deadline, and in the last hour I was just trying to make the mouse cursor show up at all 😅 I didn’t have any time to properly test things, so the bug slipped through.

I really appreciate you playing and leaving feedback — it means a lot 🙏 I’m glad it gave you some nostalgia and that you can see the vision behind it 💪

After the jury ratings, I want to finish my full vision of the game — and maybe even keep developing it further if things go well 🔥
