Weirdly relaxing and hypnotising! Loved the music and especially liked the 3d models of the fruit before they get sliced up.
Nice job to all!

Very fun game. Played till the end and got all the upgrades. The rope physics was fun to swing around and the knife was responsive. I was able to massively increase cutting speed when I got the Beyblade upgrade by just holding down the button and shaking my mouse at the bottom of the ring, which may be a bit too strong since it also kinda removes the main game mechanic of rope physics.

For sound, I like the music. The slicing sounds are nice. The machine sounds were a bit too repetitive and sharp, so it got a bit grating until the slicing sounds overwhelmed it.

Graphics are pretty good. Though there’s a lot of aliasing on the fruit pieces when they’re rotating. It’s especially noticeable on the watermelon. It’s not really bad, but it does make them look sparkly.

The upgrades and progression were done well. Fast enough to keep interest. It might be possible to slow it down a bit, but the current pace is good for speeding through when rating for the game jam.

I’d be cool to have more full screen upgrades like the OSHA Violation upgrade. Like full screen lasers and sprayers. Maybe with buttons to trigger them that you hit with the knife.

Overall fun game with lots of room to expand!

Didn't realize it would be this fun to play as a blender, good job! Small bit of feedback, would have been nice to toggle the beyblade, found my hand cramping after a little while. Great work though, this was fantastic!

Sliced some fruit, caused a singularity, would do again.

In all seriousness though, this was very fun and incredibly addictive, great work!

god DAMN this was so fun. i love the idea of a hyper efficient, osha violating machine that can give me juice. i also love how the fruits are a 3d rendered animation before being sliced, it adds so much to the old flash game aesthetic. great job! i got all the upgrades and the ending made me laugh, what a clever way to handle that!

This game tickles my brain (in a super nice way) !!!
Can't believe i just stood there cutting fruit for a dozen minutes without realizing it, the upgrade treecoupled with the satisfying knife momentum stuff were a blast to play with ! Getting to the next tier of fruits always felt so thrilling for some reason??

Absolutely adored it, well done !!

I love how unwieldy this felt to play and how satisfying it felt to cut up all the fruits! This was very fun, nicely done!

Game of the jam so far! oddly hypnotizing at the start, and the upgrades accelerated at a good pace...

So much to appreciate here, especially that there was no inclusion of kale! Get that outta' here in my smoothies! The slice sound was so inviting, it just kept pulling me back it.

Jam winner for sure! Reaching the end was worth it — the intentional lag at the ending was a great touch

Do you plan to keep working on this?
Congrats!

This was a ton of fun and I really enjoyed the ending! Swinging the knife around once I had the mirror ability was very satisfying. And I really loved the changing colors of the juice!

This is a pretty cool take on a fruit ninja game, I liked the momentum once it got rolling, I was not very good at cutting the fruit until I had a few unlocked though.

Played all the way through and broke reality! Honestly a super fun game and controlling the blade felt amazing!

From the moment I sliced the first Orange, I knew this game would be fun. Momentum-based knife-swinging is not something I knew I needed in my life, but this was so much fun to control I was honestly a bit sad when I won.

I hope this becomes a genre of game: Beyblade-likes. 😄

Great!

Thanks! :)

Fruit ninja meets cut the rope. 2 absolute bangers. I did not appreciate how mainstream rope mechanics have become since cut-the-rope. I was offered the (a) slicer upgrade, but it meant clicking the mouse, and I was already well into the physics by then.

Appreciate the list of tools used, the music was phat and appropriate. Probably the best game I've seen here so far (apart from my baby, lol).

Developer

Thank you so much! We are pretty happy with how the rope physics turned out - it seems that Godot makes it really easy to get a fundamental game loop going with just a couple physics objects.

I did the music in Ableton Live, a ton of the sounds (blippy UI stuff) in VCV Rack 2, the base models for the 3D fruit in Blender, and everything else visual was Pixel Composer and/or Aseprite. All of them amazing tools, they've been in heavy rotation for me when doing game jams.

The knife movement is innately addicting. I found myself distracted from buying upgrades at certain points.

Developer

Thank you! It was important for us to have something that felt tactile/intuitive, and I'm glad to hear you found that to be the case!

Played it all the way through and all I can say is... it should be a crime to make a game this satisfying and addictive. I'd love to see a longer version of this. Well done.

Developer

Thank you for the very kind words!! I know we are happy with how this turned out and it's great to see other people enjoying it! Be sure to check back later :)

I want a smoothie now.

Very fun take on fruit ninja!

Developer

You know, I was wondering if we should do "Intergalactic Smoothie Bar" instead, because of the ice wildcard - opted against it for the jam but maybe we will have to add an icy smoothie-only galaxy :)

Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed it!!
