How does the game fit the theme?
Your mind goes to strange places the deeper into the mushroom rhythm hole you go (you get high)
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
I have a game framework I reuse for jam games I make (has parts for audio, data, dialogue, etc. managing). A third of the songs arent made during the time (crater and theres malware in my head)
How many people worked on the game?4

Enjoyment: I really like rhythm games but I failed horribly at stage 1. I picked the beetle stage after that and cleared it with an A. Really got into this grooving vibe.
Gameplay. Controls feel fair and the tempo never gets too unmanagable . Very fluid
Innovation: Nothing too out of the ordinary, would have loved to see more mechanicas witht he path direction changes
Theme: The gnome gave off a strange vibe but the blur effect made it more annoying than strange. would have loved to see more of the forest critters around
Visuals: Visuals were okay, not much going on but the shapes were very clear and distinct
Music: strong point, the music was good, if the button imputs were more synced to the melody it would be a lot more immersive, but funky beats nonetheless
The visuals are quite captivating. I would love to have a much lower difficulty level, though. It’s not my genre, but I occasionally play rhythm games on touch devices and have never played with a keyboard. It feels way harder this way, so a lower level for dummies would work for me.
Excellent rhythm game, very fun! I'm not very good at these kinds of games so I lose all the time, but the difficulty is well balanced. One small suggestion for improvement: a button to restart the level directly. Great game!
Groovy little game, im absolutly terrible at rythem games, but i tried my best to experience everything. The musics good and I really love the visuals, overall I enjoyed it a lot!
Great game! Keep it up!❤
So first off all, this is very well done and polished. I enjoy the animations and the way you put the mechanics together. I think it combines Intralism with Osu, but those aren't my cup of tea, so I'm not going to judge that. So here is some more general feedback that is still useful, I hope:
1. When you teach me how to use the swap, there is a visual bug where when you fail to press the input in time, there is another "miss" impact, but at the target. It's a small visual thing, but it was large enough to be noticed.
2. More importantly: when you teach me how to use the swap, there is NO feedback when you fail to use the second input properly. It is obvious for you, but it took me a while to figure out how to use it because I did it incorrectly, but still got a "Perfect!" every time.
3. I personally would have liked to use cursor in the main menu.
What I liked even though I don't like the music genre:
1. the delay calibration: that is very impressive and I imagine important for games like these. The fact you managed to put it into the jam is outstanding. A functional settings menu is very nice in the first place.
2. web serialization: very cool that my score is being saved.
3. how the menu reacts to the menu being played. I assume the icon changes its BPM? That's cool!
For the swap tutorial, there should be text saying that wasn't a real swap and what to do
I could add some sort of thing that pops up when you swap keys though yeah + make the perfect text not show
The miss appearing twice is because it liked counted as a miss once for not getting any notes in an input and then the second time was due to the actual note failing
Excactly. Make the gnome say "That wasn't a swap, but a swipe. I swap is done by ..." or something like that
No I mean it should already do that
Oh yeah, I was refering to this:
Very cool! Only track I was able to get a good score on was Crater haha. I swear it feels like the sliders just don't always work? Or maybe the timing is just super tight? Anyway, the music was a jam, and it was a vibe to play. Nice work!
With the sliders you have to start holding when the first set of two rings lines up and then you can just hold down something for it actually following the path
Very smooth game play with tight timings. Unfortunately I'm not that musically inclined, but it's put together and plays well. GJ!
Has a real Warioware feeling to it, which is meant to be a compliment!
I really like this game. I need you to make more tracks. I can see this game going crazy with visual and needing duo control with WASD + arrow keys.
Love rhythm games! The controls take quite a while to get used to but are very cool once you get the hang of it!
Now i know what shrooms feel like
This game has by far the best tutorial I have seen in this jam! Great game, and stunning visuals+feel!
Great game! It is a little hard, but it might just be a little hard just for me, cause i suck at these games. But the visuals and sounds are supreme.
Enjoy the songs, visuals and challenge.
I had to come back after the stream to play the other levels too.
I got a 31063 Score on Crater and I am satisfied! 😎
Compliments on the great game.
It's a shame that I am so god damn bad at this type of games, because I cannot really appreciate them fully. I did persist long enough to beat at least one level to rank B, after like 20 trys.
And I can say, once you enter the flow it GOES HARD. Only for it to do the hold down this button while you click another one and I crash out completely and die, haha. I probably could learn this pattern with enough practice though.
Seems like all of the songs are custom made which is insane cause they are such a bop. And visuals despite simple complement it really well.
If I was to give feedback, which I feel I am not a correct person to listen to - something, some introduction that would make it easier for somebody like me to get into it. A really simple song where you always land on beat in a constant pattern, a place to first learn the "Perfect!" window, then after few bars add the directions etc. My first games were like constant failures after first 8-10 notes, so a playground like that would be useful.
Even though I'm not really good at these type of rhythm games but this one was really fun! Really good use of effects and fun take on the theme. Well done!
the line controls took some time to get used to, after mastering felt like a mini guitar hero experience
Great tunes. I really liked the small lil dude!
I do suck at these games though
Sick Tunes!
It is kind of hard to time the inputs because of the shrinking arrows overlapping. Overall a great game, loved the visuals and the music. Only managed to end the first level tho haha
