How does the game fit the theme?
Our game embraces the "Strange Places" theme both narratively and mechanically. You play as an operator for the Strange Place Authority, tasked with rescuing an agent stranded in an unstable, anomalous universe. Instead of physical exploration, you navigate procedurally generated "strange places" featuring bizarre anomalies like flesh skies, reverse gravity, and glass deserts, entirely through a retro-terminal. The core gameplay loop revolves around analyzing corrupted text logs to deduce the exact "strange place" your agent is trapped in before time runs out.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We wrote our own code.
We used some external audio files as well as a single free UI asset whic are credited in the game

This concept is incredibly original and aligns with the theme perfectly! The retro ambiance, paired with that lovely UI and solid sound design, makes for a really enjoyable experience. I’ve honestly never played anything quite like it, with this mechanic.

One piece of constructive feedback: I found the balance between information to process and time a bit challenging. There’s a lot to read and process in each slot, and the timer felt a bit too tight to truly reason through the logic you've built. To keep the tension without making it feel overwhelming, you might consider either extending the timer, reducing the number of possible outcomes (universes) but offering fewer 'lives' . This would keep the stakes high while letting the player actually engage with the puzzles. Overall, a very unique and well-executed entry. Great job!

Really original take on the theme. I like how you approached the theme through deduction instead of physical exploration, analyzing the corrupted logs and matching them with the sector traits is an interesting core loop.

The retro terminal style and audio sell the atmosphere really well too. Very polished and creative jam entry. Great job.

Worked really well with the theme, the descriptions were really fun and it was usually obvious which choices needed to be made. Text on the left side and timer were hard to read because of their size. Other than that think it's a really good project, congrats

The idea is great. I liked it, but I didn't understand it very well. Once I understood it, it got better. Great work

Very well though concept, I like all the info you put together to help to make a right decision. Really have some resemblance with the game we made. Very theme fitting and enjoyable experience overall!

A very original idea! I liked scrambling thorugh all the dimensions in search of the right detail! The difficulty felt fair and the timings of the new messages coming through were aligned with the time needed to check everything else out. If i were to say anything, maybe instead of clicking every time you select a new dimension and then having to click again to close it you could allow directional arrows to slide through all of them quickly?

Cool idea! The BGM and SFX fit really well — really can feel the “strange places” vibe so well. I also like the concept make you “see” a lot of different strange places and try to figure out what’s going on there.

Just one small thing personally: in my first few runs, I didn’t notice you can just close the panel. I thought I had to choose “send portal” or “eliminate” right away (especially when there's only a few data). Maybe could place a “Close” button in the bottom or place it to somewhere more obvious too!

Still, great work!

Pulled off the CRT terminal look very well. The layout is clean, easy to read, and immersive. I really liked how the comms panel and sector grid play off each other. Reading the agent's descriptions and then digging through the weird sector traits feels tense.

Some of the universe descriptions are great too. Upside-down oceans, limb-like trees, bleeding suns, fit the strange places theme perfectly. The stability system adds a fair amount of pressure, and the audio really helps sell an unsettling-feeling type of energy. The little electronic beeps and transmission sounds are a nice detail as well.

If this ever gets expanded, one small quality-of-life idea would be a way to mark a sector as a "maybe" while you're narrowing things down. Sometimes a few sectors partially match, and it'd be nice to flag them before sending a portal.

This is a really cool concept. The presentation is seriously strong, and the execution is polished.

One of the more unique ideas of the jam. Loved reading the descriptions from the Agent and imagining what they see. Well done!

Hi

This has been my favourite game so far. This is the type of deduction, thinking game I absolutely love.

This game grabs the theme and shakes it to next Wednesday.

I'm so happy I found this game. I have no words.

More people need to hear about this.

Thank you

AYE! Wonderful game!!!

I thought this was super interesting. Figuring out what to do by carefully reading the descriptions and piecing together the clues felt really satisfying. It was cool how everything connected once you paid attention.

The sound design was honestly one of my favorite parts, it fits the mood perfectly and makes the whole experience feel way more immersive. The game also feels really polished overall, especially for a jam project.

Great atmosphere, great concept, and really enjoyable to play. Nice work!

I thought it was super interesting. It was cool learning what to do by reading the different descriptions and clues and connecting the dots. The sounds also fit really well and created a good atmosphere with everything I liked it!

Very interesting text based game. I like the idea of selecting the right portals and crossing out portals that don't fit the description. The descriptions are vivid and well polished, love reading the text. Love the main menu. One problem though, the game doesn't scale the UI to fit always.
