Enjoyment: I had fun and can see what this could evolve into. Sadly missed somewhat of a gameover or continue to next day or some sorts of that.
Gameplay: Easy controls, easy to understand mechanics. Wish there was a bit more depth to the main mechanic.
Innovation: I got the feeling potential is still undiscovered here.
Theme: The bureau of impossible structures surely has the setting to be a strange place and the mechanic of the decision whether to allow or disallow implements the theme aswell... though I would have liked in both cases to increase the level of strangness, setting and mechanic implement the theme.
Visuals: There is very much going on here from the visual perspective. You've mixed quite a lot of different aesthestics, which could be more streamlined to have an overall consistant style. The sizes of the pixels used for the pixel art differ (rule book vs stamps), the fonts are mixed between basic pixelated and more styled (dialogue or B.I.S. Sign vs. clock numbers) and the wall & desk are either very fine detailed or rather made with a non-pixel focused tooling. Also the animation for people moving to the counter looked like they where takin window panes with them.
Audio: The tune was catchy, suitable for a long office day - but a bit loud, wished there was a volume slider at the start.
Glory to Arstoczka!
Playing this game felt so much nostalgic because of the Arstotzka! Also great game to play, had so much fun!
Really cool twist on a kind of "Papers Please" style game. Like the art style and overall vibes. Nice work!
Thankyouu :))
The music fit the game style quite well. I liked the premise. It didn't really seem like speed was much of a factor, some external pressure would add a lot to the game. It's a great start though and impressive for a week of work! Great work!
The main goal was to have a day-like vibe like in the original game where you had to finish a set amount before the day was over but worked on the other stuff a bit too long that I didn't get to finalize the day actually ending
But this would be on my list when I come back to development
Thanks for playing!
This does have a lot of potential, but I think it would be cool to have a goal or number to make the decisions or speed more meaningful, otherwise well done!
Love the art, i love the "paper please" gameplay, it's really cool and fun. Congrat's.
Thank you!
Holy Arstotzka! Greate game, good job!
thank youu!
Nice start/basis. The potential and the many directions you could take with this are promising. If you had time to implement any kind of goal, this would already have been top tier for this Jam, but where you go with this in the future is of course much more important. Good luck :)
My goal was to set up a day system and money you make by the end of the day but couldn't finish by the time of the deadline unfortunately
But I'll definitely be adding it later.
Thank you for playing!
Definitely feels like "Papers, Please 2"! This early version got me excited for the ways that complex building codes might both feel impossible to navigate but also "bendable" due to bribes or politics. Very cool.
"Some of the art was found onine" -- credit the creators, if you can! Making art (and games!) is hard
what i meant by that is that I got it from google images
I couldn't find an actual credit to some things
But I'll make sure to fix that and credit everyone I need to in the final version
Thanks for playing, I hope you also come back to the future version of the game :)
It's quite fun to play! The artistic style is pretty good, but the background could use a little fix, good game!
Thank you for the feedback! I'll hopefully update that post jam.
Good game. The atmosphere and gameplay are top-tier. Using Papers, Please as inspiration is a cool idea. I also took inspiration from it and made a game for this jam about a trial for war crimes.
As advice, I would suggest refining the visual style to better match the tone of the game if you plan to keep developing it.
Overall, great job finishing it for the jam!
You can check out my game too and leave some feedback — I’d really appreciate it
Thanks for the feedback!
my hopes would be to fix up the art and make it look better yes
I'm no artist so had to make due with what I could for the jam 😂
I'll definitely be checking out your game today
Nice! very nice ideia, like the homage to papers please as well would be nice to have something more to see with the buildings aspect, or something down the line with them affecting the districts maybe? nice game overall, hope you keep working on it
Thank you for playing!
I will definitely try adding that to the game in the future
I can see we both got our inspirations from Papers Please :D Really solid foundation for a game like that. I quickly got the hang of the rules and could deny/approve without looking at them. I'll definitely return for when you update this game further :) Good job!
Thank you for playing :))
I enjoyed the avatars and the overall vibes in this game, though think it's a bit too much like Papers Please (the copied logo was certainly a choice hehe). I would've liked to see you introduce something new in this game to make it even more different from that game, even if you are paying homage to it. Maybe leaning more into the Building aspect of it - inspecting visual floorplans, for example. I understand there may have not been enough time for that. Still, well done for putting this together! I also recreated an existing game and gave it my own twist, so I know that even the "recreating" part is challenging itself!
yeah the plan was to add more things that makes it different but unfortunately ran out of time ( I wasn't able to work the full week sadly)
I was thinking what's the best way to let everyone know what kind of game this will be 😂
I will hopefully expand on this later and make it stand out :)
will also be checking out your game today, so looking forward to that!
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
This gave me strong Papers, Please vibes in a good way. The art for some of the applicants was hilarious. A few of them looked so ridiculously suspicious that I was second-guessing everything they handed me lol. That added a lot of personality to what could’ve just been a document-checking loop. Cool concept and a fun take on the theme!
Thank you for playing!
I should link the weird looking applicants to the rate of fake applications 😂
Really well done! Loved the avatars, some of them I wanted to reject based on looks alone LOL
Cool
This game has a lot of potential, I had a really fun time with just this version of the game but if you expanded on it with more places/structures and a story this could be something special :) Great job!
I will hopefully expand on this later
thanks for playing!
That logo looks familiar lol
Like someone else said, it felt a little unclear what qualified as an error or a correct choice, I would reject a document with a typo in the district name and hear the same response as when I approved a wrong document, could be a little clearer. I also wish there were a bit more things to check in different ways and different rules, like in Papers Please, and I couldn't get an ending, which I'm not sure if that was intended or not, but obviously I understand you don't always have the time to do everything in such a short time.
Good luck with the jam!
yeah unfortunately I had way less time than I thought I would for the document looks and ended up rushing it 😂
the plan is to add more documents and stuff to check in homage to papers please.
The current version of the game is endless with no day separation but this will change after the jam
Thank youuu!
