How does the game fit the theme?
The player falls into Mirrim, the land of mirrors, where all is not as it seems!

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
We used a ready tileset with some modification, as well as a premade 2D platformer controller.

Very cool concept and an intriguing way of setting up the level design. Well done!

That is a cool concept, certainly made me scratch my head couple of times. Great work!

I really liked the use of having two diffrent characters at once, it was intresting trying to get them in/out of sync. Though there were some bugs, the camera not scrolling back down if you fall from a great hight, and in the last level the diamond replaying the pick up noise when steping over it again. But overall I found the game great fun! I really liked the level where getting to the mirror to talk was a slight puzzle.

Pretty challenging game with pretty cool mechanics, though the control scheme was certainly a choice (why no space :<). I did not proceed very war since I was half of the time fighting the control.

Very nice pixel art though (I quite like the character portrait)

Gotta say the idea of the reflection also playing is cool. The art is amazing too!

really cool game mechanic and the pixel art is fantastic! it's giving me castlevania meets celeste vibes! the dialogue boxes loaded out of field of view a few times. really enjoyed playing otherwise, great work!

Developer

You have a good eye, I actually took inspiration from those exact two games xD

Regarding the dialogue box, I think it has to do with viewport size and screens that don't have resolution 1920x1080? I will try to fix once the game jam is over, thanks for the comment!

Very nice and pretty game. I don't know if it's bugged or what but once you've gotten high enough, if you fall the camera doesn't follow you back. Nice game though!

Very enjoyable experience - love the gameplay and it is very difficult, a tad too difficult for me so I wish it was more forgiving.

Great game, challenging and thoughtful level design that confidently treads line between difficult and frustrating, very fun.

Just finished the game! Nice platforming, a cool innovative twist, and great art. The dash didn’t register for me a few times and that was a bit frustrating, but overall it was a satisfying experience. Congrats!

Enjoyment: Overall I had fun with my playthrough. Only thing I got slightly frustrated was the control scheme, I am rarely used to used W + X combined.

Gameplay: Nice snappy controls with the added twist, that the mirroring part throws you off

Innovation: Nice idea / twist controlling multiple characters at the same time, having to navigate them through the stage, without a need for a switch character mode. Nice!

Theme: Very good application of the theme in terms of thematic place aswell as game mechanic.

Visuals: I like the used pixel art, well done.

Audio: I enjoyed the background music, that was pleasing and yet not disturbing the gameplay. Nice addition of atmospheric sfx at some parts of the stages.

Very good submission - good job, well done!

Thank you for the detailed review. It's more convenient to use arrow keys with Z + X !

Probably one of the best looking games I’ve seen this jam. It’s a little challenging for me, but that’s because I’m not really good at multitasking xD

Submitted

very pretty looking game with a fun novel idea and very calming soundtrack! perhaps consider adding a limiter on the master, is it is very loud. oh, and as you used godot here i should let you know that you should export web builds with adaptive resolution otherwise you have to fullscreen it. fun game :)

I wasn’t ready for that concept wow ! Really great take on the theme. Love the art and your idea :)

Submitted

This was fun, great submission, those levels were hard.

Simple but really fun mechanic. I wouldn’t have thought controlling mirrored copies would work so well, but it really does seem reasonably doable while also being challenging. The ramp up in difficulty was also not too bad. Very fun!

Loved the vibes, I loved the way the main mechanic is introduced by getting hit by the diamond, and then the reveal, super cool!

I escaped! This was such a cute game <3 fun dialogue, relaxing music and nicely escalated level difficulty

Never before has a ten minute game filled me with such rage. Cool concept though!
