Very pretty game. I would have loved to have more satisfying sounds like for when you walk or pick stuffs out.

Having to precisely hover the items to be able to pick it up in a game where it's all about doing that exact activities repeatedly feels a bit too slow paced for me, would have liked to see the game a bit more streamlined.

Also I know you already addressed it on the game page but the high mouse sensitivity really killed me 😅

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, ye we were definitely missing some sounds

The interact thing maybe was cause the sensitivity because you are the first one to tell us

Thanks for the feedback tho!

The idea of an alchemist living above a huge cave and going on missions to bring ingredients back to their shop is so so good, a more fleshed out version of this entree would be a banger. A nice theme to mix drg loot gathering gameplay loop where you can add shop customization to it. Really cool!

Developer

Thank you a lot!

We'll make the customization thing and way more, thanks for the feedback!

This is a solid game jam submission. Good loop and although simple, it is complete and engaging. You mentioned the mouse sensitivity settings... 100% agree that needs tuning (in the potion book scroll too).

I really wanted a sound effect for going up and down the ladder too... those little additions and polish would really lift it.

Understanding the right potion for the need was an interesting take too thinking about it. Again simple - but good nonetheless. I think having a bit of urgency would work too... I seem to remember a wee pizza making game where the faster you delivered the order the more tip you got and if you left it too long then the customer would get frustrated and walk off. Adding that sort of negative 'failed' state and the underlying tension would actually increase the fun quite a bit.

There is a lot going on in this though and you mentioned that virtually everything was built from scratch... so seriously well done team! Keep up the good work.

Developer

Yes, the mouse sensitivity is a huge bad one there, the book one atleast you can scroll it with mouse

Good one with the ladder one ! We completely missed it!

The tip one is really good, when we implement the money system we will definetly take that one!

Thank you a lot for all the feedback!

Liked the vibes and the environment, particularly the cave. I saw you mentioned not wanting to make a stressful timer-based shop game, so maybe expanding the harvesting method to be a bit more interesting could be worth looking into, if you hope to continue developing the game? Regardless, I think this makes a great base game and it's awesome that you managed to create it all in 1 week :)

Developer

Thank you!

Happy you liked our cave and enviros! We'll be expanding it on all the sides, locking zones with the need of ropes, drinking your own potions, heat resistant suits, etc...

Thanks for the review!

Cool to have to go in and and collect your own resources - enjoyed the art style inside the cave.

Agree with other comments that the pacing is a bit slow, I didn't feel rushed or stressed to get orders out in any time frame

Developer

Thanks!

And the pacing was done like that for the jam to be able to be more chill just looking for the stuff

Thanks for the feedback tho!

Ok, that is an interesting take on the potion craft, and actually considering the scale of the game I have no clue how you done it over the 7 days, hope you slept at least few hours mate:) (If not - go do that now!). I liked the variety and the depth of the mechanics!

Now to the critique:

  • The pacing of the game is a bit strange. Usually games where you have to fulfill the orders are fast paced, but here serving one customer can take several minutes as you have to collect all of the ingredients. Probably it would be better if the game would be separated into some kind of phases like during the day you are fulfilling the orders and during the night you are collecting materials.

  • No option do drop stuff from the inventory is pain point, you took wrong ingredient - go back to the shop to empty the locked slot.

P.S. Actually I’ve made kinda similar game myself, but my idea about how such games should work is different, so please take my critique with this in mind. As I see from the comments, lot of people like your game the way it is.

Developer(+1)

We spent a lot of hours on the game yes

As long as you take the materials for the potion 5x and 2 more you are good, and you can always reset by going up and downin your way from one to another

We wanted to not follow the fast pace of similar games also to diferentiate , thanks for the huge feedback tho! We'll be playing your game

What the heck , this game is so good for a game jam , to be honest it might be one of my favorite , my only complains are the UI , but all of the rest is very good , giving potions to Alien , farming content is pretty cool . Also the fact that it is in 3D add more value to it , 3D is really hard and for a game jam it is impressive to make a whole gameplay with 3 dimensions .

Developer(+1)

Thank you, we spent a lot of time modelling and texturing for the game!

And yes Ui is clearly not our best but we tried haha

Submitted

This game is really impressive for being made just during the jam! I really enjoyed the loop of crafting and selling my potions. I particularly thought it was a nice decision to have the different materials available in the cave from the start but a limited collection inventory, because it made it a bit of a meta game trying to guess what materials would be needed next to save a trip!

Developer

Thanks! We love you enjoyed our game!

Thank you, and yes we think that for a game jam it was the best to be able to pick up any material at any time and the 5 slots 10 materials was a nice spot!

Cool game and atmosphere!

Developer

Thanks!

Really cute lil potion shop game! I liked collecting things and brewing the potions. I also fund the sensitivity quite high and had to lower the mouse settings - might be something to have in your options for accessibility! Really cool stuff!

Developer(+1)

Sorry about the sensitivity thing

Thanks for the feedback it means a lot to us!

As I told to one of your partners is incredible having good reviews from the best game of he jam!

Awesome 3d browser entry! I played a bit and crafted a few potions. A customer asked for the "Special" potion and I didn't know what he wanted. I think I gave him sleep or something, idc I hate him now for giving me 1 star. I will say I had to adjust mouse sensitivity to the lowest level, and even then it was a bit fast (I get motion sick fairly easily)

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

And sorry it was one of the hardest to "solve" the alien was asking for a space potion ( made by mushrooms )

And getting a 1 star is though of cause the review system works

And really sorry about the sensitivity we'll make it even slower

great game!! wish i had a crafting book i could carry around with me but otherwise really cute game!

Developer

Thanks!

We'll take that feedback and add a recipe book to be able to open it in the cave!

Submitted(+1)

really cool, the cave give me instand morrowind vibes and I love the alien walk animation :D

Developer

Thanks so much! It's true, the big mushrooms and flowers evoke Morrowind vibes. I’m really glad you liked the alien walk animation, I had a lot of fun creating it!

Submitted(+1)

The mouse control is too fast for me but I liked the visuals in the crystal cave!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We’ve already taken note of the mouse sensitivity after other players mentioned it as well. Glad you enjoyed the cave visuals!

Submitted

Fun game, love the whole cave under, a lot of work done there. For me it would be better if mouse sensitivity is lower and sprint is faster. The colors in mine are a bit to sharp, but that could be just my problem :D Overall fun complete game, good job!

Developer

Ty for the feedback, and yes the sensitivity lower config is still too high as other comment also told us, the color in the mine are like that to know where each ingredient comes and so bright to feel more strange but maybe is disturbing

Hello! Having a tutorial at the beginning is so nice :sob: theres so many jam games that omit that and I have no idea what im doing. The crafting is cool and exploring caves for materials is a really interesting twist on the theme :3 Something that would make the game a bit more coherent though, is environment and medium. "does a bright red colored alien with a ball cap belong in a dark-ish medieval fantasy world where a wizard crafts potions, mining away in a minecraft cave?" Its something that lowk ruined the immersion for me. Also, a visual reminder to see whats needed for a potion and a backpack of some kind would be really cool. Overall theres like low taper fade massive lvls of potential here though, Cool game :3

Developer

Thank you! The tutorial was a thing we had in mind since the start, we wanted the player to understand what was happening.

The incoherence you talk about is meant to increase the feeling of strangeness in the game. We really appreciate the feedback tho!

I LOVE IT!!! Really nice concept and atmosphere. The whole crafting + shop idea feels relaxing, and the cave setting gives it a lot of personality. It’s easy to get into and has a satisfying gameplay loop of collecting, making potions, and serving customers.

If you continue working on it, adding a bit more depth to the crafting or some small quality-of-life tweaks could make it even stronger. Overall, it’s a charming experience!

Great job!

ALSO, if you like mind bending puzzle platformers, make sure to check out our game!

Developer(+1)

THANKS!!! We are glad you liked our game!

And yes, there will be tweaks in all parts of the game, and crafting is clearly one of them, thank you a lot for your feedback and yes, we will play your game, love the idea of the 2d 3d game and rotating it

Submitted(+1)

I really love this crafting/shop game. The cave is beautifully atmospheric, and the customers are great.

Keep it up! ^^

Developer

Thanks! We spent a lot of time decorating the cave! Happy you liked our game, we also liked yours a lot, very well made!

Submitted(+1)

Nice, chill game. I think the alien walk was my favourite part haha.

A lot of directions you could go if you wanted to continue with it, whether it be more time pressure or strategy.

Nice job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the comment! We appreciate your feedback, and we'll keep it in mind!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for your words!

And yes the alien animation is incredible!

Its an honor reading your comment specially with your game, which is one of the best games of the jam!

Submitted(+1)

Really liked the game! I think it has great potential to shine beyond the scope of the jam.

You might also consider adding something like a client temper bar, so the player can clearly see how much time is left before the stars start to drop.

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the kind words! We’re really glad you enjoyed the game. That’s a fantastic suggestion, we’ll definitely keep the idea of a client temper bar in mind.
