I don't play many games like this, so I unfortunately don't have a reference for originality/innovation, but I'm going to give it high marks there anyway. This is a super polished experience, I like your ideas with the minigames. The art and music are lovely.
At first I thought the two art styles clashed, but since they are totally separate I think it works quite nicely. Good job, team!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :D
a polished experience throughout. i loved the minigames and how they were integrated into each level. i loved the sounds as well, especially since i feel like in games like this, sound can add alot to the experience. i didn't run into any bugs throughout, and i found it to be a very smooth experience. the art was spectacular as well, and i could see your work reflected in how detailed it was, and in how many well-designed characters there were!! i think the only thing i can think to say is to perhaps decide on a specific art style to go for and stick with it. either to make the entire game pixel art, or hand-drawn, or to find a way to better integrate them together, as it did disconnect me a little from the experience when the characters would pop up and i would be taken out of the pixel art style. either way, well done on making such a great game in such little time :)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! We all worked really hard to make everything look, sound, and work well together :D
I loved the artwork in this. Every character was so well detailed. The story kept me guessing throughout too. I was sad that I accidently left the sewers before "completing" my task there. The first puzzle had me stumped for way too long (I am not smart!), but the hints throughout were just enough to help. Great game!!
I’m glad you liked it and that the hints helped! Thanks for playing! :D
Thanks for letting us know about the bug! I thought we ironed out everything, but appearently some thing slipped through the cracks
Loved the art in this. I had a hard time with the puzzle in the beginning, there's a lot of 4 letter words you can spell with the letters you gave for the puzzle. Also, this is really a knitpick, but the footstep sound effect does not sync up with the character's walking animation and that was bothering me haha. Overall this was a very polished experience from beginning to end and I'd be keen to see what other games you make in the future because I love little story driven rpgs like this. Great work.
Thank you so much, and I’m glad you enjoyed it! Yeah, that puzzle can be hard, but hopefully the hint helped you get it!
Impressed by the depth of the story. The visuals and audio are nicely done given the length of the jam.
Great work!
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
The pixel art and UI blend together perfectly! Really great story too. Awesome job!
Thanks!! :D
I like the character designs. The puzzles are varied and interesting. And the soundtrack ties everything together into a cohesive experience. Really enjoyed it!
Thank you so much :D
Good game, good art and sound.
Thank you!
I liked it, I also liked the art too! The MC (I'm bad at names) is pretty cool, the story is nice. I like the ending and the red girl looks pretty cool! All and all, an good game
(Also big W's for the try for another ending button, more games should have that)
Thank you! I didn't want people to have to play through the whole thing again just to get other endings. Especially if they were accidentally caught :)
Great work! Impressive amount of quality content in such a short time. I liked the character design a lot.
Thank you!
This was quite a pretty interesting experience in both story and puzzles. The setting felt mysterious, with layers of truth being peeled away one by one. I appreciate having the option to jump to different ending choices as well. Nicely done!
Thank you! Having the options to jump to endings was my idea. I thought people would be more likely to play them all if we didn't make them play the whole thing again :D
Good art, but maybe a missed opportunity to not do more with the branching narrative paths (although the option to jump to the ending was appreciated).
Thank you! Means a lot! Also, I remember your game from the last Brackey's Game Jam, so hello again!
Really nice one ! The arts are beautiful ✨
Thanks!!
I liked the game; the graphics were great, the puzzles were great, and the storytelling was nice too
Thank you! I'm glad you liked it!
Loved it - the puzzles were interesting and supported the story and characters well, and the character design and audio were really cool. Also love how smooth the game played and how "frictionless" the puzzles were!
Thank you so much! We thought a lot about how to make interesting puzzles that would support the story!
Really well done!
Thanks!
Wow this was realy good! Well done!
Glad you liked it!
Really cool game! I liked the story that was told and the character designs were very good. I would've liked to see more endings and maybe some more coherence in the art style, but overall its a really fun short narrative game. Well done and keep it up!
Thanks for your advice! I agree that more endings would’ve been nice to add. Maybe one that only unlocks if you do certain things throughout the game. Can you explain what you mean by coherence in the art style?
I think that maybe the pixel art doesn't quite mesh with the smoothness of the characters, I think I just love the look of the characters and would've liked to see the whole game in that style!
I see what you mean! Drawing in that style tends to take quite a bit compared to making pixel art, but I can definitely see the appeal! Maybe next time, I’ll try to do a hand-drawn style all throughout :)
Very impressive and good story telling. Felt like I was playing a beginning of a full polished game. Loved the art, audio and visuals!
Glad you loved it!
Thank you! :D
Great little story puzzle game! Well thought out, art is so impressive! The SFX are great especially the one ussed before dialogue. The ambiance is well done, the music really made you feel the mystery! Very nicely done :)
The dialogue interaction was my fav sound to make! thanks for playing!
Thank you! Everyone on our team worked very hard :D
