Honestly pretty awesome! I wish I had a friend to play with rn lol (they're all asleep). I really loved the pixel art man, very cool! One thing I'd add is like consecutive attacks for the light attack; usually there are those in fighting games, but I wouldn't know since I don't play many of them. Congrats, and good luck!
(Edit: I just realized this game has only 8 ratings, like WHAT, this totally deserves more ratings)
It's interesting that you decided to make a local co-op fighting game. What was your thought process? Are you big fighting game fans, or have you always wanted to make one? Also, great job for only 7 days, good luck!
We are all fighting game devs, so our thought process was "how to we make this theme a fighting game"
Definitely risky going for a local co-op game in a jam (in the sense that not everyone who would play has a P2), but I admire the execution! As someone said, the controls are a bit difficult to work around, but we managed to have a good time anyway! Nice work on this :))
Definitely fun to play, and the animations were well done. Didn't feel it was as much a "strange place," but definitely still a well-made game. If I had to give a criticism, the P1 and P2 keyboard controls are not particularly usable; WASD + XCV, and arrow keys + JKL could work to give each player a side of the keyboard.
This game was all the right kind of deranged and I wish I could play a complete version of it. Stage hazard and stage transitions made it cooler than I expected!
