Really cool game concept! I really enjoyed figuring out the translations of the orders. One issue I ran into was that pressing space to bring up the translation book while entering the order would cause it to add more ingredients, but overall nice game!
Easy to understand, but hell it was hard to find the correct order. Really nice presentation.
Nice one, but a hard one! After a while, I started to half guess the orders.
This game was hard! Took me a long time to figure out not all words were in the translator haha.
Great job on the characters and art!!
The potted-flower-person species is hilarious. Nice work on the alien-speech text, too!
I'm glad the aliens were very patient with me. Translating felt really daunting as first, but it starts to make sense after a few orders. It was an interesting experience, good work.
Neat twist on the serving style of games with the translation! I think it was a little hard off the bat having to fill in some blanks not in the translator. Maybe if there was some level progression where first level is more straight forward and then later levels you have to start inferring parts of the language, that might smooth out the experience a bit. I do really like the idea!
Very cool concept around translation.
Nice work!
Feel free to check out our game too.
Wow! Super interesting concept! I spent WAY too long decoding "pancake syrup pancake chocolate", lol. I'm assuming it was intentional that not all words are in the translator, right? It was confusing at first, but once I realized that the letters could be translated 1:1, it was really fun trying to actually learn the language, not just the words.
I think it was a good choice not enforcing a timer, as it can take a LONG time to translate. This combined with the soothing, instrumental music set a very relaxing vibe that was perfect for the gameplay!
I still would have liked to see more to the gameplay, but the basic concept was executed well, and I enjoyed my time with it! Great work!
Guacamole took me WAY too long to figure out lol, I did not expect the alien to just be saying "guac". Now I want a burrito.
The whole translating mechanic is a really cool idea. It's crazy at first with all the customers popping up, but I was relieved to find there wasn't a timer breathing down my neck. The stress was self-inflicted enough lol.
The music though?? That 90's japanese city pop vibe was a good choice. Made the whole thing feel stylish while I was frantically decoding alien cursive (which btw was kinda hard to read but also funny in its own way lol).
Really creative concept and I had a good time with it.
I think i need to do some eyes check up cause i start the game 3 times, and i'm absolutely unable to find the corresponding visuals in the book of receipe, that's crazy. I spend like 6 minutes trying to figure out...but no. I don't know ahah Anyway, the visuals and the audio definitely setup up the thing ! congrats with that !
Feel free to test our game !
What a fun game, and the graphics definitely fit the jam theme! I love the different languages and the customers' wild preferences :)
The game was pretty fun, i found all the customers walking in immediately a bit overwhelming, might he good to start with 1 just until the player gets it.
The translation mechanic was a nice twist on cooking order games so great work on that!
A little polish on the animations and such and you have a great game here!
love the nostalgic feeling!! :D i got a lil jumbled up at times but i love a lil translation game :]
Great work! I like the art and the music works very well to suit the vibe. It's very fun working out the translations, and I'm glad there isn't a timer haha.
Nice visuals and a cool concept overall but it were a bit tough to navigate the translation book would be really cool to see this polished up and updated though! All in all, i liked it though!
The art was nice, but the music wrapped the whole thing together, gave me 90's anime vibes which I was all over. The gameplay made me anxious at first I thought there was a timer or something and seeing all those letters was overwhelming but after a few minutes and trying a few orders I figured it out and the game flowed. Was pretty solid
