super cool game as scrach, pretty hard tho !!
For a scratch game this is really awsome. I liked the gameplay. Though the crossbow deffo made things a bit too easy to a degree. I didn't get how to dodge the ghosts. And the animations and music could have been better overall really fun game.
Pretty impressive for a Scratch game! I actually started game development on Scratch as well. You're definitely very skilled, so I think you could really excel if you wanted to use a more advanced engine. Taking the leap can be a little daunting, but it's really not as bad once you go for it. A possible starting point would be Pico 8, which is super beginner-friendly, and there are a lot of good tutorials and documentation. There's also both a free and paid version, so you can try out the free web version for a little and decide how you feel before fully committing to it. (Very subtly indoctrinating another Pico 8-er.)
Edit: Of course, if you want to keep using Scratch for now, I won't try to convince you otherwise, I know of some creators that have done really amazing things using it.
I'll actually probably look into that, I'm lookin into it rn and it seems cewl. Thanks for playing game too
This game is quite nice, and the concept is quite goofy
One small issue i had is that the controls seems a little bit weird
Oh what problems were you having?
It's been a slight while since I played your game, but one of slight finnicky controls I felt was that up is used to jump when I normally wouldve expected space to be jump, and space was attack (probably I would recommend using Z or something like that to attack)
Overall, I love it! Just that in some places I felt that it takes a slight while to adjust to the enemies' attack range
I had a really fun time playing this, cool to see someone else doing smth with toys
Thanks for playing!
I was NOT mentally prepared to start memorizing these bosses movesets like I'm playing Elden Ring lol. I love the story and the feel of the world, and the extra levels had me rolling for some of the designs. I see you have a lot of talent in game development and you should keep making games! Maybe try picking up some kind of programming language over the summer break to use a "more capable" game engine? This is really impressive though, you should be really proud of yourself!
One day I might move onto something better, but learning is hard and I am stupid, thanks for playing though!
You're sounding just like me from like 4 years ago lol. If you're smart enough to make Scratch games into Windows runnables or have multiple levels and different enemy types and movesets for bosses IN SCRATCH, you've definitely got the brains for the j*b. It can be scary, I agree with that, but you've totally got the skill and smarts for it as long as you're in a good learning environment.
I really liked it! It is pretty fun and I like the music and artwork. This may just be a skill issue, but I find it difficult to fight the ghosts, since they can come from any side of you, but you can only attack them from the direct left or right. I really like both the music & how cinematic the opening scene was, even just audibly.
One of the main struggles I've seen is dealing with the ghosts, a lot of people say to add knockback which I agree with, so it isn't just you! Thank you for playing le video game
Really good game, despite some jank with animations and with walls letting you just rapidly jump up them, I still had quite a bit of fun, the crossbow was fun to use, and parrying bullets was great. I do kinda wish the sword did some knockback, as it can be really inconvenient to deal with the brawler enemies or ghosts with it, but that's probably the biggest thing, the final boss was great btw.
Yeah, no knockback has been a criticism before. At first I thought it'd make the dead guys too easy, as the goal was for them to corner you, but I am now realizing that I was too harsh with them. Thank you for playing this though (:
Amazing job with this game, I had a lot of fun with it. The music was absolutely outstanding, amazing job with that. I really enjoyed the complete randomness of the hodgepodge levels, there was a lot of funny stuff there, and the boss fight at the end of them was REALLY good. I think the movement could be a little bit less floaty - make the player move up slower when they jump and then fall a bit faster, and make the horizontal movement a bit less slippery (it doesn't have to be zero sliding, you should just tone it down a lot). The first level was significantly more difficult than the others, because you don't have the crossbow in it. After getting the crossbow, most enemies became trivial, and the only difficulty was the dead guys. I really like the choice of making the dead guys immune to arrows, but the way they can corner you entirely doesn't feel great. Adding knockback to the sword swing would help with that a lot. I also think you could consider lowering the damage of the arrows slightly, and speeding up the sword. To stop infinite spam parrying when speeding up the sword, you could make the animation faster and the parry window smaller. Making the sword kill enemies that much faster than the bow would really incentivize the player to use it against more than the dead guys. The wizard boss had a bit too much health, and the falling section after it was a bit long, but the music in the falling section was FIRE. You might want to consider making the falling section a bit more difficult and introduce more mechanics to it, while also making the player respawn there if they die so you dont have to redo the wizard boss, so that we can still enjoy the banging soundtrack while also not spending too long in the falling section.
Great work on this game, I'm happy I could play it!
Thank you! Also you posted this twice (probably a website glitch) so I deleted the other one.
oh shoot sorry about that! i must have accidentally clicked the post button a second time
I am SUPER impressed that this was able to be made in Scratch. Well done, I had a lot of fun playing this. The music and voice acting was a nice touch.
I found the wizard fight to be too difficult for me to complete - maybe some more outside playtesting could have helped zero in on the right difficulty (or maybe I am just bad, only more testing can tell, haha).
Great work :)
Omg thank you so much! I told some of my friends to playtest but they never did except my gf, who also struggled on the wizard, so I never really got a chance to get feedback for it, so its probably too difficult, but thanks for the feedback (:
The budget on this one is insane, massive respect to you for doing this solo
Thank you! I ignored a lot of school work /j

Fun little game. It makes me think of my childhood when I play it. I love the style of the game and the sounds.
Thank you! I always thought I could've improved on the sound design but I never got around to it, so I'm glad you like it!
😁Do you want to try my game? But regardless, have a nice day.😀
the overall game was pretty good, and voice acting was also great, but the movement of the player was difficult to handle and was pretty floaty
Thanks for playing and for the feedback! I've pretty much re-used the movement script across all of my older scratch games with little variation, so it's probably time I could make a new one or something.
