Really unique mechanic! I had a lot of fun playing through all the levels and getting all the hats :)
Neat use of the theme, the graphics were really clean, and the music fit the game really well. Overall it felt extremely polished, very great job, especially for such a short time frame
Thank you! Glad you enojoyed it.
I was excited to see a fellow platformer game this jam but then it wasn't a platformer it was ITS OWN GENRE OF COOL THING!
Such a solid idea, great execution, satisfying to complete levels. I just wish there was more!
And you added HATS 10/10
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much. Who doesn't want a burger hat for the little guy?
Amazing game!! It is SO addicting!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Very fun and polished entry, I had a lot of fun with this and I am very proud to say I got all the hats and finished the game. That last level almost got me to give up but I kept getting sooo close. Finally got it and it felt great. Very nice challenge loop, feels rewarding to complete the tougher levels. The quick-reset of the levels helps keep the player engaged (we call it the Hotline: Miami strategy), great implementation here to make a very fluid and fun (and challenging!) experience. Love the artwork and the sprite for our little alchemist. The only critical error in this is that you unlock the GOAT hat right away. Cowboy hat for life.
Congrats on a great entry!
Thanks so much for the detailed comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the entry so much. This is the first game I've ever made that truly felt like a complete and polished product that I (and other people) actually find fun. While I've made other projects, I feel like this is the first GAME I've made and it feels good to see that people like you are just having fun and enjoying what I made.
Intense game, I like the idea of making potion on the fly. The art style is very nice and customization or hats was cool. There was an issue with the music causing the volume to reset when the song changed. Controls took a bit to get the hang of. Timing levels were a little hard after a few attempts (for me) as the game started lagging.
Some really satisfying combinations and puzzles here. Nice work!
Thanks!
Really fun game!!
Thanks for playing!
A lot of fun but very challenging. Really loved the puzzle mechanics. The unlockable hats was a nice touch. Overall a nice game!
A fun little puzzle platformer, a few levels were pretty challenging but it was worth it for the hats. Great sound effects as well for the potions and jump.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it. Which hat is your favorite? Mine is the Bowler hat. It's probably the most simple one and it kinda makes him look like bowler hat guy from Meet the Robinsons, but I think it fits the little guy so well lol.
Bowler and Antlers looks the best on him, my favorite was probably the burger hat tho lol
Burger is #2 for me lol
Just a lot of fun and an impressive number of levels for a game jam. I like the combination of having to think a bit at the start to determine your moves through the entire level and then needing to queue recipes on a reactionary level.
Music great, graphics are enjoyable, good and unique spin on the prompt.
Small bug I noticed, when the music switches the music volume slider maxes out :(
I beat all 19 levels and dang is it hard! Especially the last one. This is definitely my favorite.
Yeah I didn't realize the music thing until afterwards... I used a music player from a previous project and it hard sets the volume in a tween when transitioning songs so it's overwriting the menu settings.
Thanks so much for the kinds words! I'm glad you enjoyed it!
Honestly this is peak! Just played all levels in one go, had a blast. The gameplay also reminded me a little bit of Mario vs. Donkey Kong where you have to guide the Mini-Mario's to the goal.
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Great take on the theme. Engaging mechanic that is simple to understand and hard to master. It got me hooked and I played the entire game. Awesome submission!
I'm glad you finished it! Thanks so much for playing and for the kind words.
This kept me engaged quite a bit. I like that you designed the whole game around just using 1 or 2 of each element to solve the puzzle. The scope is very simple but engaging. I had a little bit of lag here and there but nothing major. Some of the instructions / popups were not acceptable by pressing space, whereas some of them were, that would be nice ux addition to always be able to use the keyboard to proceed. I didn't play all levels so i'm not sure if you had some of these, but maybe introducing ways to use a combination of eg. fire and a leaf to make some kind of combination of these for new puzzles.
I think the game as is has good potential already because the puzzles you can create are endless, but maybe some variety to the areas etc. would bring more juice. Overall very nice game.
Yeah it was because of the poor way that I implemented the tutorial system lol. Thanks for playing and the feedback! Glad you enjoyed it.
Man... it's awesome...
My first thought: "Meh... another platformer somehow tied to the theme for the jam let's check it quick"
Me ~20 minutes later: "Man... it's awesome..."
Music stopped playing after 2nd track and took away some part of fun aspect :( But still GREAT entry and... incredibly engaging concept for me!
I'm not sure why that is! I had several times when I just had the game running that the game would stop playing the music. But it wouldn't happen often and there were times where I could have it up and running for a long time and it never stop the music. Gotta be something weird with the signaling.
Thanks for the kind words!!! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.
This was super fun I had a blast while playing it! Btw I found a glitch on the 18th level if you become big then right before you hit the bouncy thing you become light then it will send you super high up over all of the obstacles and lets you beat the level :D
That's awesome lol. The leaf potions change the scale of the nodes and adjusts the positions so that is seems to grow and shrink from the feet level so i bet you found some way to add that position change into the movement velocity or something. Super cool, glad you had fun!
Fun game and clever platforming mechanics. Really good player onboarding too. Timing is tricky but that's the point right.
Thanks for playing! I appreciate the comment.
Amazing game. Great take on the theme and the controls felt really good. I was not quite good enough to finish all levels but honestly. Would love to see more! Fantastic entry.
Thanks so much! The game does save, so you can always come back later and try to finish it!
Fun game with a really creative use of the theme. I really like how it incentivizes both planning and thinking on the fly, and the hats were a nice touch. Did encounter a bug where the screen froze for no apparent reason, but my progress was saved so it wasn’t really an issue
Interesting. Good thing I put in the save system then! Glad you enjoyed it!
this is really fun and super tricky i think i got to level 10 but i dont know it would be nice to see what level your on in game and also it would be nice if you could move the camer wall the player is moving but otherwise i had a lot of fun nice work
Yeah I should've put something in.. It would've been easy. Maybe after the jam I'll add that! Thanks for playing!
