Really awesome.

Pretty cool idea! Congratulations!

Love the idea, a bit hard to understand what is going on, but this is such a unique idea that it makes it interesting

Very unique idea and great execution. It was a lot of fun trying to build different sentences with the words provided, and it's honestly genious that you use the words of previous victims. Which also lets you understand the relationships that the crew members had with each other. There was maybe one part where I wasn't really sure what I had to reply, I thought I picked the correct combination but it wouldn't register, so I had to button-spam to proceed to the next sentence. Other than that, it worked flawlessly for me. Well done with this one!!

Super creative game, I love the core mechanic, and the overall atmosphere of the ship was nice and tense as well. Great job on the voice acting too. The binds, as in what number says what, could have been shown on screen after player presses the button first, cause for the first few turns it was a guessing game. The game really did make me feel like an alien trying to mimic humans tho lol, so amazing job on that!

Suuuper creative gameplay idea.

Awesome visuals and atmosphere. The concept of being the body invading alien and going undercover, tricking the crew is also very funny to me.

Unfortunately the voice rebinding didn't work great for me and because I was struggling a lot with hitting words, it was also pretty frustrating to not now which words to fish for. Would've loved to continue playing this, but I was hard stuck pretty soon.

Really cool concept and good execution. I love the extra options you provided like the space bar menu, it'd be really cool to see a more filled out game that continues the ideas here.

Absolutely great voiceover and sound work. Very intriguing and fan to play. I couldn't finish the game, though (kinda hard to find the last combination of words), and it seemed like nothing happened after the countdown reaches zero. In any case, amazin job you all!

Really cool idea! I’ve never played a game with gameplay like this before.

I think It could be easier to pick words if I could see them, but I still had a lot of fun.

Loved the voices and art.

This was really fantastic! You all really did a fantastic job on getting this done. I will say the most unique gameplay I played on this game jam so far, and the finale really made me memorize words a lot (to the point of writing it down on a paper haha)
I will forever remember the words now of "Omega One, Seven, Victor Victor, three!"

The only critique I can think of is this game does not have anything related to the theme decay, maybe I missed it somewhere though

What a wonderful jam game.  Really loved it and would play more. Great idea with the voice reshuffling and trying to make out a legible message - It made me feel kind of like and alien trying to scramble another language together.

Fantastic! Great premise, and great voice acting and pixel art!  I think you could run with the idea on an even bigger game: a monster fumbling to impersonate humans could go in so many directions. I think I accidentally advanced the story while I was learning the controls, so I kept wondering if I missed something important.

Everyone from the team absolutely nailed their work! Great job :D

Absolutely insane level of polish for a game jam. Looks gorgeous, and it's super fun mumbling barely coherent things, next to a door, until a crew member decides that it's good enough to open the door. Although I wish there was a cheat-sheet somewhere on the screen, which would tell you which button says what word

Amazing job, would love to play a bigger game that involves sounds forensics like this. Imagine being able to cut parts from every conversation, so you can take control of some voice activated parts of the ship. Super fun!

Developer(+1)

Yeah! A better sample capture interface and a library would go a long way. At one point in development I wanted to have the final computer override require voice print ID from each crewmember, but I completely forgot about that under the stress of the final sprint...

Submitted(+2)

Ahhh, that would be such a good ending! The whole crew needing to state their name and presence. Awesome stuff man, bomber!

Submitted(+3)

A very fun and interesting mechanic, I enjoyed the little stories into each persons lives right before biting their heads off. Great work!

This was a little confusing at first, but it was a very fun game nonetheless, one of my favourites in this jam for sure. I would love to see a game where you need to impersonate the crew like this developed further!!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, the reality of making a fully voiced game like this during a jam is that you have no time to iterate, it took us the first 5 days just to get from writing the script to having everyone's lines recorded, so by the time we could test the game there wasn't time to rewrite anything so it made more sense.

I absolutely love the atmosphere, art, and premise of this game sooooo much!!! Tbh I found the gameplay loop a tiny bit confusing at times especially for things like inconsistencies in word timing, and there were certain time's that I'd progress without know what I did right.  That, and I think removing the cap for the timer at the end was a good idea for people to remember the code (or it could've worked to give them more time like ~5 minutes). But other than that I absolutely loved this game so much! Hats off to yall!

Really cool atmosphere. for me this game is a good example of how sound can carry the whole mood,
the composer and voice actors did a great job. from the first seconds it pulls you into this strange otherworldly place
the art is maybe not super polished everywhere, but with the sound it works really well and gives strong early Alien movie vibes,
the rules were a bit hard to understand at first, i think the game needs smoother onboarding / tutorial, but the sound and atmosphere made me want to stay in this world longer

applause for the overall sound design here!

Developer(+1)

I agree! Our main sound designer made a whole OST that mostly got cut for time + voice clarity, you can check it out here:

Submitted(+1)

oh nice, i’ll check it out! even in the cut version the sound design was already one of the strongest parts for me

Loved the art and the idea! soo creative! I have to be honest I mostly pressed random buttons until I got it right, the only feedback I have is that having  some extra clues on what you are supposed to say it would have helped a lot, Amazing game overall though! Good Job
