Artist: Visuals are super cute! I'm in love <3

Musician: The music themes fit really well, it's not too distracting yet catchy.

Coder: The game experience is good, you need some skill to pass some jumps. Controls are responsive and it's very important for a platformer. Small note though: binding attack and reality shifting to mouse is a downside (at least for me) because I play on a laptop with touchpad. I'd suggest to add secondary bindings on keyboard (I think it's more convinient to play this type of games with both hands on the keyboard) or a way to bind inputs myself.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! Some others have also pointed out the awkward keybinds, which I plan to address in a post-jam update. I haven’t played many platformers using keyboard so I was unsure of what those inputs should be.

First impressions, this is very cool!! I was already enjoying the design of the tutorial area that eases you into an understanding of the game's controls. The introduction of the Sludge World as a reality shifting concept is wonderful and caused me to give an audible "ooh!!" and the music changing is a really really neat touch that adds to the whole appeal.

I like the main character's design! While somewhat basic, the addition of the flowers and vines add a lot to the design and the general theming of the game.

My main complaints arise in the game's main level. There are frequent instances of 'leap of faith' jumps where it can be very unclear where the ground is going to be and, if it is there, where an enemy might be which lead to an unfair death or two in my run.

Regardless, this concept shows promise and you've done very well to bring it to fruition in such a short time! Well done! In the future, I'd love to see further updates with more attack options (while moving?), enemy variety, and stages!

Thanks for playing, I’m glad you enjoyed it! The main issue that a lot of people have brought up are the ā€œleap of faithā€ moments, but I felt I didn’t have enough time to implement a proper ā€œlooking up and downā€ system. If I decide to update the game then that will probably be the first thing I add lol.

Not much I can say that nobody else has said already, BUT, personally, I think using the mouse instead of the keyboard for attacking and changing dimensions felt a little strange. Adding a coyote timer would also be nice, but I don't know how useful that would be considering how precise some of the jumps are.

Developer

Thanks for playing! If I decide to release an update I’ll think about adding different keybinds for the mouse buttons.

Very well polished platformer! Level design was awesome, and allowed for mechanics to shine. Also, good work in incorporating the theme of the jam! It was challenging, but very enjoyable to play. One issue I have is blind jumps. Sometimes you can't say where the enemy is when jumping down.

Developer

Thanks for playing! If I decide to release updates, I’ll definitely address the ā€œblind jumpā€ situation.

I like the pixel arts!, the control are simple and straight forward It’s nice to hear the slowed version of the music when you change dimension

On tutorial part, it seems like if you accidentally right clicked, you’ll change dimensions, so I got confused at the first flower jump part, I figured it out after several tries

I also lean toward to more visible enemies than out of camera enemies, like the one at the right side, where the platform look like ā€œā˜ā˜_ā€

  • Because I can’t be sure enemy location on the bottom side

Thanks for playing and I’m glad you liked my pixel art! Some sections were a bit rushed due to time constraints. I thought about making a mechanic where the player could look up or down, to eliminate the chances of accidentally falling on enemies out of sight, but this was later in development. Definitely will be something I’ll add if I decide to make an update!

I really love playing platformer games, so playing this game, it truly was very polished and refined! I enjoyed it a lot! One of the few games to implement the shifting realities theme in a great way! And I loved that you added enemies, and I wished the game was longer! The music is one of my favorite aspects; I love the shifted reality's change in music. I liked the animated sprite, and this feels like a complete platformer level. My only issue was the space button (jump) would sometimes not trigger because of the cooldown or because I was moving, so it was a bit annoying. But I really enjoyed the game, and it's one of the most underrated ones I've seen on here. Awesome work!

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! I’m not sure what’s up with the jump button since it should only be checking if the player is on the ground. I am considering releasing updates or making another more complete platformer with similar mechanics so I really appreciate your feedback!

i love the graphics! the presentation was cute and the core mechanic of swapping between worlds is amazing! i would have loved more checkpoints, becouse sometimes enemies damage the player in tricky ways. But i will definitly recomend this one!

Thanks for playing! I wanted to tweak the enemies a bit more but I didn’t have time lol. I’ll for sure keep that in mind if I decide to continue working on it!

Thank you for playing! And yeah I spent a lot of time on the player character lol.
