The controls for the keyboard were a bit jumbled. I’m not sure if it was just on my end, but like one other person mentioned, pressing A or W seemed to had been swapped with Q and Z for some reason, which made the game pretty tough to play. Still, I really liked the visuals, and honestly you did a great job as a solo dev!
Sorry for the inconvienence about the controls :(
Like i said just below, i thought i double binded the keys to work with QWERTY layouts without issue, and apparently i was just dumb and forgot to do so ^^’
i don’t think i’m allowed to upload a fix while the jam’s still going but the band aid solution at the moment would be to switch your keyboard language in AZERTY layout or play with a controller.
Thanks a lot for trying my game out despite the control issues ! I’m glad you liked the visuals ^^
Unfortunately, the left direction (A) control did not work for me, so I was unable to play the game effectively. It seemed interesting, though, and looked very nice.
Yeah i’ve seen people have this issue dur to keyboard regional differences :(
It wasn’t supposed to be an issue because i thought i double binded the keys to make sure it worked for both layouts… untill i checked back into the project… and realized i simply just forgot -_-
Sorry for that inconvenience i was certain i had double binded the keys > <
I don’t think i’m allowed to patch a fix in while the jam’s going but in the mean time to avoid the issue you can either try with a controller or toggle your keyboard region from QWERTY to AZERTY on your OS
Cool game !
Thanks i’m glad you liked it :)
lovely game, i think it achieves everything it aims for. must have been a blast to make it. it almost feels unfair to rate it against all the other entries as a 3d shooter like this needs so much more work and polish compared to simple 2d jam games, but you did amazing in this 10 days. the vibes are 10/10
Thanks a lot for your kind words :)
I had tons of fun making this, even if i stumbled upon a few issues i didn’t expected that ate away quite some time and made me cut a bunch of intended stuff, but yeah jams in a nutshell i guess XD
Sure 3D is a bit more work, but i’ve got a bit more experience compared to my first jams so hopefully i’m at a point where i can manage to make cool stuff with that extra dimention :p
Anyway really glad you’ve enjoyed the game, i’m humbled, thanks again for giving it a shot ^^
Very cool nintendo space shooter style! Very good job for this Starfox style game!
Thanks for playing ! Glad you liked it ^^
Sick concept! I really like the opening segment and it makes it feel very much like a full blown game as opposed to a project for a game jam. Love the aesthetics, the city line is fun, plus it does feel like a nice spiritual homage to the starfox games. My only critique would be the controls, but people have already mentioned that, so that's okay. Its also really hard to attempt a 3d game + a bullet hell in a game jam environment, so I know how much of a challenge this was. Well done! Thanks for the game!
Thanks for giving my game a shot !
I’m glad you’ve liked the intro it was my first attempt at 3D cutscenes :D
Yeah the controls didn’t really end up as i intended, there’s still a lot i don’t really get about how the engine handles interpolated values so i still have a lot to learn on that front ^^’
Really cool concept! i was very excited to play a starfox like! if i have critique it's that the controls are a bit sluggish, the basic laser is hard to hit the enemies that come from behind, and the barrel roll is really short and feels kinda slow. What you've got in here was a treat to play, so thank you for the experience c:
Thanks a lot !
I’m glad to hear you had a good time trying it !
The starfox series is a longtime favorite of mine so i know i was bound to make my own spin on it one day ^^
Yeah it’s my first time attempting this sort of gameplay so i had a lot of issues trying to implement the kind of analogue controls i would have wanted, so i made the best of what i could achieve tweaking values here and there and it ended up how it is now :(
I only mention it to help provide perspective and critique for future development! you should be genuinely proud of this, it's a lot to get done in such a short time, and i had a lot of fun playing it c: I played it on stream if you actually wanna see it being played blind it's in the VoD, i don't mean it as a shill i just know a lot of developers really value seeing that c:
No problem i took it as constructive criticism :)
I’d really like to check the Vod out if you’ve got a link to your channel ^^

for your viewing pleasure c:
Thanks i’ll check it out ^_^
I struggled a bit with the controls only because I’m not used to this kind of shooting, mostly because I would like to have more control over where my shots go without moving the ship a lot haha, I’m used to having 1 stick you move around and with the other you aim so my mind wanting to move the aim make it a bit difficult to get used to the game xD
I liked the 1st level, relaxed and giving a chance to get used to the controls, the second level I feel it would be better if it’s more quick, before the boss I feel there is more dead time than it should but that gives you a chance to see around and see the visuals of the game so it’s ok
About the visuals, I like them, like people say in the comments, it’s like the old games and that has its charm. I liked the weapons but I killed the second boss so fast that I couldn’t see more than the second attack haha
I had fun playing :)
Thanks for playing ! Glad you’ve had fun ^^
Yeah the idea was to make some kind of smooth analogue controls for the ship but i couldn’t manage to achieve that so that’s why the aiming feels a bit jank sadly :(
I took inspiration from both Starfox64 and the old SNES Starfox so that’s why everyting is controlled with one stick :p
Haha yeah if you managed to get a plasma shot before the boss i’m not surprised, i might have made that weapon a tad bit too OP so it makes short work of everything XD
Amazing work, gave me some good starfox vibes obviously <3
The overall atmosphere is very good and well executed! The textures and 3D models are perfect for the game, and the music does its job well.
Successfully creating a gameplay loop that works smoothly and even having the luxury of building two complete levels is fantastic.
Congratulations, impressive work.
Thanks for your kind words ^^ !
I would have loved to add even more starfox like elements like dialogue pilot portraits and allies flyby but well jam time being what it is most of it just remained on the cutting room floor :p
I would have loved to make more environments and levels as well but i’m glad you liked it despite there being only 2 levels, due to time i prioritized polishing whatever i already had implemented to be the best it could be and have a somewhat complete experience.
The intro animation and the 3d models are nice, I didn't expect a 3d game like this here, it reminds me of Star Fox, I finished it, I liked the space stage the most, though the 2nd part didn't spawn any enemies. To be honest I wanted to like this much more since it looks pretty unique, but more than fighting the enemies I was fighting the controls, especially when aiming, I couldn't play it with keyboard so I opted for gamepad, maybe it is different with keyboard, but the control scheme felt very unconfortable to me. This was the only issue I found, otherwise the game is great, looks great and the music and sounds are nice.
Thanks i’m really happy to see you liked the models and intro animation :D
Yeah the last stretch of the space stage is a bit lacking in terms of enemies, i thought it might have been too much to have too many enemies while dodging the asteroids.
Controls wise it’s my first try at this style of game so i wanted to have something with a somewhat smooth aiming and movement, but couldn’t really manage to pull off what i originally intended so that explains the jank :/
Glad you liked the game still despite its control issues, thanks for your feedback ^^
The game really does look a lot like Star Fox, which I really enjoy! I really dig the designs for the spaceships. Also, texture work is really nice, given your self-imposed limitations on resolution and polygon count. It all looks very N64-authentic.
For some reason controller mapping for movement for me was mapped to SZQD instead of WASD. A bit weird, but I quickly got used to it.
Thanks for giving my game a shot ^^
Really happy that you liked the N64 look and that you thought it feels authentic !
Weird, to avoid this specific issue i’ve double mapped A/Q and W/Z so that it could be playable in both regions without switching keyboard language so it should have worked.
Sorry about this i’ll look into it and see if i can fix this :/
Nicely done intro, it had very strong N64 vibes. The whole vibe really worked: the audio, the timing of the enemy appearances, and the way the bosses were introduced, slowly turning in before engaging. Great job on that; it all felt very reminiscent of that era.
I loved the music too. I was jamming all the way to the end. Also, great job getting a 3D game running this smoothly on WebGL. The camera and crosshair work were really well done too. Great job on this. It definitely brought me back to older times.
Thanks i’m glad you’ve liked the N64 vibes cause that’s exactly what i was aiming for with the graphics ^^
I’ve tried a bunch of new things this time around regarding how i made the boss ai compared to some of my older games, so i wasn’t sure how it would end up but i’m glad the “dramatic turnaround” made an impression :p
Really happy that you liked the music as well, I tried my best to come up with something a bit techno-ish to get an arcade feel XD
Yeah i’ve had some fun playing around with the cameras cause i wanted to try making small in engine cutscenes this time around, The crosshair was a bit of another experimental thing that surprisingly turned out well in the end, so i’m extra glad you’ve liked this
Thanks a lot for playing and for your kind words :)
Yeah, you nailed the vibes. Funny enough, when I played it I said to myself "Something tells me they like Star Fox...." and then I said your itch name/avatar afterwards XD
Haha i have absolutely no idea what could have possibly give it away… oh wait XD
Jokes aside yeah i’m a fan of the series and yup my Name / Avatar do indeed indicate that a bit, even more confirmed when you look at some of the characters in my other games :p
I'm almost 100% sure that this is due to my low end system, but yeah I wanted to report this just in case it is helpful to you! I really really wanna play this game because the aesthetic really reminds me of Star Fox64, which was one of my absolute favorite games growing up. I'm going to switch to a higher end system now and see if that helps (it should)
Oh dang sorry about the tech issue :/
I hoped this wouldn’t have any problems since i exported it in the “Compatibility” config to use oldschool rendering and all to help on older hardware so i’m not sure what happened here O_o
I’m not entirely sure i know how to fix this but i’ll look into it, which Web browser did you try this it ?
Hey, good question actually. After more digging the issue clearly seems to be some add blocker extensions that are on by defualt with Brave.
/html-callback net::ERR_BLOCKED_BY_CLIENT

This confirms that 1) it is indeed running in compatibility mode and 2) Its being blocked by the client (my browser). Weird though, cuz ive never had this issue before.
But the issue is totally with me and nothing to do with the efficiency of your game
Indeed O_o
I never tried Brave so i didn’t know it would have issue with WebGl games like that :/
Sorry again for the inconvenience ^^’ i guess your best bet if you still want to try it would be to try it in another browser ?
Hopefully you’ll be able to run it, regardless thanks for the useful feedback and your interest in my game :)
Thanks CryptRat ! I’m glad you’ve liked it ^^
It’s my first try at this style of gameplay so the difficulty was a tough act to balance, it’s cool that you found it somewhat balanced despite how packed the second mission can be in some spots :p
The game is very well rounded! It feels great to control not in small part thanks to the strong and fitting visual and sound feedbacks. The difficulty was perfect for the jam for me, the second mission took me a couple of tries which was on point.
