Emotional piece. Very well done. I wanted to catch all the memories but I also wanted to see what happened. I liked how the environment changed at the end, and the heartrate too.
Thanks for playing, I really appreciate it. :)
Went to have a look, but I couldn't run it through web browser on my laptop.
I kept getting a WebGL2 Error that I think might be to do with the resolution the game tries to run in, my laptop only supports up to 1920x1200, and I can see from the game page app box that the game is trying to run in a higher resolution than that.
I can see that others have been able to run the game ok, so I consider this to be because of my laptop.
As I cannot run it, I have decided not to vote as I cannot give it a fair vote, Good Luck in the Jam.
Thanks for trying, sorry you couldn't get it to run.
Not fun at all :(
But that would be missing the point. This a great sensitive and emotional story, and the atmosphere is well set. Good work!
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. :)
A great atmospheric walking sim. Very emotional. Amazing work!
Thanks so much for your comment, really appreciate it. :)
What a beautiful little game - it really did make me feel something inside going "wait, please wake me up!". Naturally, this hit the nail on the head for the theme, it was easy to understand, and didn't overstay it's welcome. I think the only thing I walked away with negatively was wanting a bit more emotion from the ladies voice. Otherwise, excellent :)
Thank you so much for your comment, I really appreciate it. :)
A very emotional story! Kept seeing an issue where my camera was constantly trying to focus on the floor - beyond that though this did well on atmosphere, storytelling, voice-acting (!) and music.
Thanks for your comment, sorry about the camera issue. The camera is controlled by the mouse. Though I've had a report before of weird camera response whilst using a trackpad. Anyways, appreciate your comment! Thanks!
The atmosphere of the game is really well done — the foggy world and especially the music selection create a strong emotional impact. Even though it is short, it delivers its message clearly and feels quite touching. The idea of progressing through memories and fragments of conversations is also very effective.
The only downside I experienced is that the game tends to lag when played in the browser, which affects the overall smoothness a bit. However, despite that, the atmosphere and emotional tone remain very strong.
Overall, if the performance gets a bit more optimized, this could become an even more powerful experience but even now, it is already quite memorable and moving.
Thanks so much for your comment, appreciated. Yeah, the performance could have been tuned but I was at the point of removing content to improve frame rate. Just to note, the game performs flawlessly as a full build (as you would expect). It's only because it is a web build that the lag appears. :)
A perfect theme implementation. Congratulations!
Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it. :)
Such a great atmosphere! :) the story felt quite still, the music has a constant volume, the heartrate monitor stayed the same till the end and the voice acting had the same emotional depth throughout, some ebb and flow within these could have made the end hit really hard emotionally! I loved the details of the messages, some meaningless things that just pop into your head, through to the deep defining moments really felt like you were seeing someone's life journey!!!
Thanks for playing, appreciate it. Not sure if you noticed, but the beat does subtly change throughout the journey. It starts slow and relaxed, increasing in beat as the journey continues. The whole environment changes around you, slowly dying and thinning out. What at first appears to be a lush healthy forest, withers and dies off till there's only a few dead trees in the final sprint. The only constant is the tone of the outside world. I'm glad the game connected with you! :)
Well-made walking simulator. Good story, awesome voice acting, felt natural. The story was asking to stay till the end. Lovely game!!
Thanks heaps for the comment, appreciated. Glad you enjoyed it. :)
5 stars for the theme, sound and music. Wanted to make to the end of the game but think the itch page was giving it a terrible frame rate.
Thanks for your comment, appreciate it. Apologies for the frame rate, I tried to push it as far as I could. Would perform so much better as a downloadable, but hardly anyone plays and rates downloadables in a jam. :)
Oh, I don't think the frame rate was on your end. I figured it was on the itch page. I have watched the video of your game, so I knew what the baseline should have been. Looking at my comment sorry if implied that it was your game. Sometimes I don't type all of the things I'm thinking in my head.
This is not a game - it is an experience. It is art, told by the medium of a game. Great, from the colors, the twirling path over the memories to the voice acting. Very well done.
Thanks for the comment, really appreciate it. :)
This one made my eyes wet...
As someone who has lost a closed one before their time, this is so relatable for me...
I LOVE how you interpret the concept, and the small details you put to it...
If I would to give some feedback, in my player experience, I was so focused on rushing to the beacons, (I didn't know if I had time or not at the first part) that I passed through some of the cards reading as fast as possible.. It would be interesting if the cards could 'snap' at the screen in a 'bilboard' style, if you get a bit closer to them, so they can be easier to read without stopping ...
Overall, it was a touching experience ! ✨✨
Thanks for your comment, I really appreciate it. Sorry for your loved one, I hope you remember them well.
Interesting note about rushing through the game to the beacons. I tried to cater for that by having the memories come back during the obituary and credit screen. I also considered having a link at the end so you could bring up all the memories in the game and scroll through at leisure. Ran out of time though. :)
I do remember and 'celebrate' their time here regularly 🫂
And the credit screen memories were a nice solution indeed! And I completely relate to running out of time to put ALL the ideas down.. haha!
It was a good experience! could have been better with more things to do in game. GG!
Hey thanks for playing, and I saw you play it on twitch. Appreciate it!
For me it's more interactive experience than a game but I will not consider it while voting. I liked the atmosphere and the mind representation as a forest. The UI, "blinking" tree roots and pop up style text boxed were interrupting me to enter the flow of the game. It was cool experience overall!
Thanks for commenting, appreciate it. :)
I really wanted the game to be a bit more in depth, something like Firewatch, or To the Moon. But 10 days wouldn't have been enough time to scope that out. But if I do take this concept further, then yeah definitely something I would be doing.
What a powerful game! I really like the way you interpret the theme and even though its simple, its really touching! I do find that at the start, my game was a bit stuttery and at my first playthrough, I ended up getting lost and I might have softlocked the game accidently by wandering off and going into the light which I wasn't meant to. Another thing that you could definitely do if you'd like to progress further with this game is have the memory as something tangible rather than words on some parts of it (kind of like a core memory). Other than that, awesome work!
Thanks heaps for your comment, really appreciate it! Yeah, unfortunately due to the web thing it's a little stuttery at the start whilst it loads up the world. Not much I could do about that in the jam time I'm afraid. :)
I like the concept of making the memories tangible. Yeah, if I do take this concept further, doing something with the memories to make them more than just billboards you "collect" and "remember" would be something I'd definitely want to do. Thanks for playing!
oh my gosh. I didn't want to cry. It was really good. Some of the messages touched my heart and it gave me shivers. Really well done presentation...
Thank you, and I'm glad the game touched you. I've never done a game like this before and I'm really happy with the result. :)
Really liked the atmosphere and emotional vibe of the game. The whole “last connection” idea fits the jam theme very well, and the presentation feels surprisingly immersive for a jam project.
The visuals and mood work together nicely. Great job!
Thank you for you comment, I appreciate it a lot. I wanted to tie in multiple ways that "connection" fits into my game. Glad you liked it. :)
Emotional and atmospheric experience with strong fog, lighting, and sound design. The storytelling hits hard and creates a memorable, reflective mood. Great jam entry!
Thanks so much for your comment, I appreciate it. :)
