Really cool! I Like the upgrading system and the physics on the walker. Having the resources collected by throwing the axe/pickaxe is very smart and makes resource gathering convenient, though the resources stopped going into my hotbar and so I had to use TAB to see them. You have to manage both your own HP and the HP of the walker while gathering resources and getting rid of Goblins. The goblins are glitchy and really a lot of things are glitchy but that's OK because this game is pretty awesome conceptually. One thing I would have liked to have seen is an FOV slider because the default is way too low for me and was uncomfortable to use. Super neat idea and well done!

Took me a sec to get going but good job!

Good concept, tutorial is great and very much needed! it just took me time to understand how to assemble gears and stuff ^^
GG and good luck !

Really good work on the game. Congratulations on great work.

Really cool idea

Really fun game! I loved throwing the axe.

Yo this was a 3D FPS version of Monsters are Coming! Which is fantastic! Well done. I played your game in the early phases and this is such a huge improvement. You put in some good work.! Great job on making such a cool little world as well.

Developer

Hello, thanks for playing my game!

I didn't know monsters are coming, but it kinda is similar when I looked it up.

Thanks for leaving a comment!

The idea is so unique very fun. It's like a skyblock but moving within the environment like Raft. I really like how you chained together the walkeers I think that was very unique. Very good job

Developer

Thanks for the feedback,

this means a lot to me, glad you liked it, I was very unsure about this concept while developing it, but it kinda came together :)

Thanks for playing!

Fantastic!

I love the idea. There are so many crafting surival games out there, it's hard to do something new. Here's something new! And it's on theme!

The implementation is fantastic. I can see where it'd go with more time, but it's already a lot of fun. I hope you keep adding to it.

The music is soothing and a good choice.

The only note I've got is that I found acquiring wood to be really exhausting. Everything needed wood, and the vehicle frequently wandered away from any trees. And I hope turrets or something to automate dealing with goblins shows up in the tech tree at some point.

Developer

Thanks!

Glad you likes it, the walkers move a bit random but prefers resources, it can be a bit grindy needing all the wood indeed, maybe I should lower costs, make sure the walker walks to more resources, or introduce new resources. I really like the idea of building turrets on the walker chains, I might do that!

Developer(+1)

I'm working on updates to release after the game jam, and your "Turret" idea is already implemented in a local version, I need to tune the monsters now cause it's kinda unbalanced, thanks for the idea :)

The idea is cool!
Just play around with the brightness a bit. I assume you might be developing on an HDR monitor, but on a regular screen, it looks way too bright. :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks for your feedback!

Yeah i'm using an HDR monitor, I didn't know this made such visual difference, I could turn down the bloom effect probably, thanks for mentioning it, I would not have find out otherwise.

The idea is very fun, I loved throwing my tools away to collect resources hahaha. At first I was a bit confused on what to do but I figured it out eventually (I didn't understand at first that the resources collected were going to a separate inventory from what was in the hotbar). Overall, it was a nice game and fun game, so keep at it!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback and playing my game.

The inventory being seperate from the hotbar caused a lot of confusion, I'll keep this in mind!

I like the idea! Like someone else commented minig resources via yeet is fun. I totally got ran over by my own walker lol.

Developer

Hehe, yeah walker don't care about it's operator :) it can happen, thanks for your feedback!

I good idea for mechanics, a bit laggy html version, but a great work indeed, good joob!

Developer

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback, I should have spent more time on performance issues, glad you liked it anyway :)

Submitted

Most of all, I just love the idea of mining for resources via Yeet.

This was really fun! Harvesting resources by throwing axes and pickaxes is really satisfying. Made it #3 on the leaderboard :)

I think it would have been a little more intuitive to just show the resource counts somewhere on the screen at all times rather than having an inventory screen, it took me awhile before I noticed the "[TAB] Inventory" text . Other than that, I didn't experience any bugs and really enjoyed my time with it.  Having the red "X"'s appear on obstructions was a really good idea to prevent frustration. Great job!

Developer

Hello,

Congratulations on finishing the game and getting third on the leaderboards, the inventory was unclear, but it was mostly the text that showed the controls that was too tiny, I scaled down the GUI in the last hours cause it took up 25% of bottom screen, when I started the game I worked on an inventory system but I wasn't sure how I would use it later on, and it became kinda useless, I can certainly try to find a better and more clear way to implement this.

Thanks for playing!

Fun immersive world. Satisfying to throw axes!

Submitted(+1)

Cool concept.  The walker should just knock down the trees when it gets there, had some issues finding the hit box when the trees are so close.  Great jam game.

Developer

Thanks for playing,

I tried the approach where walkers knocked down trees but it felt a bit off, it kinda made it too easy, maintining the walker chain can become very intensive, maybe I should find a way between those options :)

Submitted(+1)

That makes sense.   You could switch from ranged harvest to mele harvest at close range.  Had a blast playing it!

Developer

Good news!

I'm working on updates to release after the gamejam.

Your idea of the walker knocking down trees is in the version I'll release after the gamejam.

It is called the "Mauler" and can only be installed on the initial "first" walker.

It automatically damages trees and rocks every 1 second, it takes 3 seconds to clear an object, each second the walker is stuck it'll still receive damage though, even with "Mauler" installed.

Thanks for the idea!

Sweet!  Please ping me either here or in GDTV discord once you get the update so I can play it.  Would love to give it a go. Screenshot  above is awesome!

Developer(+1)

Hello, I did the update :)

Good way to keep it new and solve the old issue of clear cutting the resources around the crafting table.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!

I'm glad you think it's a bit original, I had a hard time choosing tags for this game on itch.io :D

The idea is great and fun. A little bit buggy, but with some love it would be better :D.

Althrough I don't see the UI updating. I still have the 10 logs and don't see additional resources. I could however have an additional crawler, so it is working on the background.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

There's a small hint text which shows the controls, which unfortunately turned out too small in the end, causing confusion about the logs you get to start in your hotbar and the gathered logs which went to inventory, the idea was to give 10 logs to the player making sure they can move even with low resources around the walker, i put them on the hotbar so it would be clear, but this made the real inventory not as visible.

Thanks for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun game! It has that certain something that makes it oddly satisfying—especially chucking the axe around

Developer

Hello thank for playing my game,

It was a weird project and it took a while to decide where I wanted to go with it, it has some relaxing gameplay with some tense moments, and in the end I liked that, goblins weren't added until the last day for example :)
