LOVED this! I wasn’t expecting to get a YouTube game in this jam, but then again, I don’t think anyone else was. Really enjoyed the surprise of trying this out and I’m sure it can be expanded in a lot of interesting ways. Congrats on finishing the jam, this was definitely an interesting one!
That was extremely unique! It would be interesting to see what else can be done with this.
Is there any way to use hyperlinks to other YouTube videos to switch to next level? What else would you add to this game given more time?
This is one of the most interesting projects I've seen. Well done!
Thanks for playing :D Yes, we could do that in the future, it has been experimented by other few YouTubers too! Given enough time, I would make the game over state clear, add 1 more universe side to the left face, create more levels... the possibilities are endless XD
Very strange (positive) :P
No I have no idea where the easter egg is.
Thanks for the feedback :) hint: cc
Oh thats an amazing easter egg!
I thought it was sanskrit at first, but looking at it a little more, from a distance, I saw it XD
Well done. Extra points for this.
congrats on being the first to find it XD you now have the red imposter easter egg sandwich XD
Wow this is very original, had no idea this could be achieved! I was a little confused as to what I had to do, but kept wondering in the space :-)
Thanks for the feedback :D Please read the [HOW TO PLAY] and [FAQ] section to understand what to do :)
I remember playing one youtube game back in the day, don't remember the name of the game but it had some similar mechanics, they used video forwarding and something like that. I assume you used the same thing. Anyways this is very impressive, very innovative. However I didn't see any resemblance to the theme of the jam or I must have missed something. Youtube games can be a genre, if done right it could do wonders for the players. Great job on the entry!
Thanks for the feedack :D The game you played would likely have been from Firerama I think. About the theme, if you read the FAQ, it does tell you about the theme implementation. Actually, I had this concept over a month ago and the theme just so happened to fit in it. The wormholes connect the universes so you can go to another one when one universe distorts.
I had no idea you could do this with youtube videos.
It's impressive on a technical level.
I don't know really know what the win/failure condition is, if any. I moved the dot (it felt more like I was moving a camera with a large square reticle) inside the boxes and circles, but there was no indication of doing well or not. The instructions to pause were a bit unclear, was I supposed to pause the moment the bar showed, or when the bar was filled, or when the wormholes appeared? I tried different ways without finding an answer.
Thanks for the feedback :) The win condition is to stay in the universe (rectangle, circle or triangle) for the most time. For wormholes, you have to pause when the wormholes appear, go to the universe it which wormhole takes you to, resume. I wrote this in the FAQ. When the bar goes away, you lose, but the code for showing it broke, so sorry for the inconvenience :(
A very unique game; I liked the idea.
Thanks for giving feedback :)
Interesting a very unique game. Thanks for making it.
no, Thank YOU for playing, rating and givng feedback!
Nice and unique concept. As for many, I suppose, this was the first time I've seen a game like this. It is definitely worth to explore, improve and develop further. Congrats on your entry!
Thanks for the feedback :D Yes, I have plans to improve it too
Definitely a unique concept! I do wish that there's some way for me to lose thoughs ince I feel like there is a lack of stakes here. Though I do appreciate taking the idea of making a game anywhere quite literally (which is awesome). Great work!
Thanks for the feedback :D Yes, the gameover state in the game broke last minute, but it's still playable!
That's completely understandable! It's a game jam after all xD
Must have been the most unique thing I have ever played. As a game on its own though, it is not very special. The graphics are very simple and the gameplay is the same constantly, but then again I would have no idea how to do that on YouTube. The music at the beginning is nice but gets a little repetative after a while. All in all still a great entry and definitely not something I have ever seen before.
Will add the exact timestamp for my playthrough later.
Thanks for the feedback! While you were streaming my game, I was playing your game XD So I couldn't tell this to you that when a wormhole comes, you are supposed to pause, move to the next universe, resume. I will clarify it in the FAQ (I forgot about it lol). The gameplay isn't too same, as it always randomly squeezes, rotates, and moves. Graphics being simple has ALWAYS been a core part of such games since @Firerama (on YT) started this new genre of game videos. Also yes, the music is looped with FFMpeg as my game video is 400 seconds long and the music was only ~3 mins. To clarify, I haven't playtested my game much. I just saw it's theoretically beatable, and then submitted it. You played my game for far longer than me XD
Certainly an interesting entry! I can't say I've seen a "video" game for a game jam before :O
Thanks for the feedback! Indeed the first time a game dev has submitted a game video for a game jam :D
Interesting game.. was very cool!
Thanks for playing, rating and giving feedback :)
Really weird and unique. This is the first time playing a game on YouTube, but I am not sure if I can lose it at all but I tried to stay in the shapes. Fun and weird, thanks for showing something so unique.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes, the goal of the game is to stay in the shapes for the most time :)
Very unique game! Definitely a very interesting use of a niche(idk if thats the right word?) gaming scheme!
Thanks for the feedback :D Well, i think it may not be too niche of a gaming scheme after all. There is a channel who started all these YT games called @Firerama (who was the inspiration for this game) which has ~102K subs
Something very unique I tried.
Thanks for the feedback! The game was made to be unique :)
Great game Never seen such game
Thanks for the feedback! Well this is the first time such a game was submitted to a game-jam, so I knew nobody is gonna know about such things XD
I didn't know about the youtube interactive game video were a thing. This is a unique entry I have played. Well done.
Thanks for the feedback :D Yes, a big part of the reason why I chose to make this game is to raise awareness that the world's largest video-sharing platform can be used in creative ways that only a few people in history have done.
Never seen anything like it! Great experiment!
Thanks for your valuable feedback :) There are a few other people on YT who have made such things, check out @Firerama if you want to play more such game's, he's the inspiration!
Most unique game I've ever played!
I had this idea for the past month, and yes-being unique was the whole point of the game. Thanks for rating and playing!
