Fun game.
Took a couple of tries to master the "plane shifting" mechanic, but got there in the end.
Having a bit of a ramp-up/down on movement speed when changing directions would make things a little easier.
That drop into the flower/water caught me off-guard!
Enjoyed it.
Good idea, was thinking of making a throttle function since I played using a flight control stick instead of gamepad. might be worth looking into
Hard yet fun, the music is enticing x) despite the simplistic look of the game, it's motivating to keep going, nice !
Man you weren't kidding, this game is HARD! I like the concept though! Its pretty charming in its own way and although the gameplay is infuriating at times, its definitely a good challenge! Great work!
I really like the concept for this one, and I loved the graphics for the wizard! The only issue I had was with the controls, which took me a minute to get used to, but overall I had fun with it. Good job!
I really like the core idea of controlling the orb instead of the character—it makes the gameplay feel fresh and a bit chaotic in a fun way. The difficulty is definitely noticeable, but I think it adds to the charm rather than taking away from it. The controls took me a little time to get used to, especially how the orb accelerates and turns, but once it started to click, it became quite satisfying. I also liked the overall atmosphere and the sense of progression, even though reaching the goal can be quite challenging. Maybe a slightly smoother difficulty curve or a bit more forgiveness in movement could make it more accessible, but overall this is a very creative and solid jam entry. Well done!
Thank you for understanding our vision of creating a fun and chaotic physics game. We plan on implementing a tutorial level to mitigate some of the sudden spikes in difficulty though.
Ingenious, with sober, but very efficient graphics. Far too difficult for an old duffer like myself, but I enjoyed trying..! Well worth developing further. Thanks for sharing.
Haha, thanks for the comment. I am of an age where I am old enough to remember when games used to be harder, but young enough to still play them xD
I always over push the ball in these kind of games. I like the story.
It takes a while getting used to the controls. Seems like the ball accelerates and turns very slowly, but you did mention that the game is hard. But that just gives it a good challenge, making it even more fun. Well done!
Thank you! We plan on adding more gradual difficulty curves in the future to be fair.
Great Game!
Had a great time with this one. Good Job!
Had a lot of fun with this one 😄 The gameplay feels chaotic in a good way, and I honestly started feeling a bit sorry for the wizard who has to travel to his friends in such a complicated way every single time.
Funny and memorable concept overall!
Randalf appreciates your concern, young one. Glad you liked it!
Loved the intro, both art and story. Fun concept :) The game is actually hard! I didn't quite understand how to use the planar shift
There is a missing tutorial for it, but you use the planar shift by placing it, then re-activate to teleport to it, it's a player-placed "checkpoint" that preserves your momentum so you can advance further
Oh, I may try again later. BTW, I didn't have time to make a linux build. I posted a video of the soluton of my game but if you don't want to spoil it and prefer to try yurself I may try to find the time later today.
I saw your footage, and gave a rating, good job honestly :3
Thank you :)
Brutal but good! It was too intense for me to get to the end. would be nice to have few checkpoints and easier levels.
was great watching you stream it, it's one of those games one needs to develop a taste for since it requires thinking about physics, checkpoints were on the to-do list but ran out of time to add it before the jam ended :D
The game was hard, but the mechanics were fun. Would love to see what it could become with more time invested into it.
Definitely going to make a separate non-jam release of it later once we polish the game further, thank you :D
slightly difficult to control the orb. I loved the intro cutscenes, reminded me very much of early elder scrolls games.
you are so right, it's partially inspired by Morrowind
hard!! but very fun and cute story. well done guys :)
Some players reported issues running the game on Firefox, but we have tested Firefox both on Linux and Windows where it runs just fine, could be a permission issue, or an unsupported OS. We are unable to test the game with MacOS ourselves, so if anyone would want a build for that, let me know.
There is a fine line between being hard to control and feeling unresponsive and at times it crossed that line for me... :-/
That said, overall it wasn't that bad for rage games and it was a lot more skill based than a lot of the "Oh, a sudden spike, now you are dead, lol" of other games. There was also a charm to the overall feeling of the game and its aesthetics, so it was overall a fun experience :)
yeah, if it gets unresponsive you need to reset, but could you describe me your issue in more detail so i can look at a fix?
Nothing like a 'gossip wizard trying to talk with his best friend forever' game 🤣 I found it very funny
Quite hard to control the orb, but thats the idea, right? But it is a fun game to play
Thank you for the feedback, it is indeed intended to be hard to control :D
I love the story, but it's a bit hard.
Thank you, and agreed
