Honesty.. This is pretty okay game.. But there some problems.. Like there no checkpoint
Where if I lose.. I have to restart at the beginning ( at least of start game )
And also make jumper less annoyed.. Because I when keep hit at ground top of player head.. Only To suddenly fall all at beginning game because of that
It kinda very annoying.. That might other reason why I didn't beat this game first level
But besides that.. This is pretty okay game what is it.. Not going to lied
And your game might be great if you improve with some stuff!!!
( I hope this feedback helps!!!!... And thanks for playing my games!!!.. Sorry for being kinda late..i gusse I was kinda busy or just having fun and focus other stuff.. Regardless.. I hope this feedback helps.. And I hope you see again if I update to my game call mystery box jumper demo.. And again.. Thanks for my game playing :) )
Thanks for the detailed review, I'll try and fix those. Have a nice day👍.
You too 😊
Fun game
Thanks!
Let me start off by saying I like your characters and vibe. I'd like to leave some feedback.
Some of my feedback has already been listed before. The dialogue sound in particular is grating and the game music is very repetitive.
One thing that really bothered me over anything else is how the camera moves. With how quickly the character falls (it feels like they have lead in their boots or something the way gravity pulls them) and how the camera follows them exactly it made me a little motion sick. Not everyone suffers from that (I don't have it too bad either luckily) so it may not be a huge deal, but something I wish was addressed for my own comfort. I recommend looking into how other 2d platformers tackle their camera movement. Plenty of resources on this out there on YouTube for example!
Still, nice little game. Keep it up!
Yup, I got many who were annoyed by the jump. I thought it was okay, maybe I needed more people to check it to uncover it's flaws. Thank you.
Love the pixel art, looks really nice ! Jumping was a bit hard to control and the jumping sound was a bit too repetitive, but a couple small tweaks and this game is looking great!
Thanks I'll implement the feedback.
Really fun game, just felt the lack of air control made it really difficult and unsatisfying when jumping. I laughed quite a bit at the dialogue, besides the jumping, I really enjoyed it! Also wasn't clear you could double jump, just kind of tried it out as there was no other way I would be getting high enough.
Hey thanks for trying the game and leaving a feedback I will fix the issues in later update.
I like the art and presentation, but the jumping felt *really* bad.
I can see the vision in the level design and the challenge it could represent and I think it could be great, but I feel that the character could benefit from a but of floaty-ness and more air control.
The sound design is also very grating on the ears, I got tinnitus and boy are my ear ringing.
I think though this has potential to be super awesome with tweaks to the movement of the character!
Yup, I'm still learning many of the things, like sounds and programming so I will try to fix them. Thanks for the feedback.
Nice simple platformer with a neat little character.
Thank you.
The pixel art was very fun to look at :)) and the controls were nice and smooth, great job! Especially for a first time JAM :))) Keep up the good work :))
Thank you for your kind words, appreciate it!
Seeing those two familiar blocks at the end made me laugh.
I really like the dialogue system, the pixel art, and the overall feel of the controls. One thing I noticed is that the character voice sounds seem to trigger a bit too quickly, maybe adding a timer and some random pitch variation could help (just a personal suggestion).
Overall, I really like this game!!
I'll look for a way to add that, I'm new to Gdevelop so I had no idea how to add those. Glad that you enjoyed my game and the two blocks made you laugh. Thank you~
This is how I did it, just for reference. There might be better ways I'm not aware of yet. I’m also a beginner, hope this helps you.
Thanks I will try to understand it and apply it!
A quite challenging and fun platformer. I really like your pixelart work! Well done!
Thank for playing mate!
Cute game, impressive work. Just… make the spikes red. Green makes them feel like friendly grass. I learned the hard way by walking into them on my first try, thinking I was about to smell flowers. XD Overall, great work!
Yes it confused many haha, I'll fix them in later update.
Wow, what a beautiful game! It's very polished for a game jam entry. Congrats!
Thank you for your kind words.
Liked the intro, enjoyed the game, loved the ending. Some sounds could be improved, specially jumping, you could randomize a bit the pitch. Also the art and game feel is polished and consistent. Basic take on the theme, but really solid entry imo. Keep it up!
I'll implement it after I know how to do so maybe I'll watch a tutorial.
I love the art style on the game 👌 the story is nice as well
Also, great reference at the end 😂
Haha great to see someone else got the reference, thanks for playing.
Wonderful short little platformer with a nice narrative and a well designed level, the pixel art is also fantastic and i saw you with that reference at the end hahaha, great work!
Thank-you. I think not many finished the game, but you surely did! And got the reference too, haha.
Nice game! Beautiful pixel art and cute story. Really enjoyed it, well done!
Thanks for playing the game!
The graphics are well done, the sound is maybe a bit loud, and the gameplay is good. Great job!
Thanks for the feedback, I'll implement it.
This sounds like an interesting premise to a game I love the originality; the audio is a bit high though I would suggest lowering it so that it doesn't hurt your players ears as they play, otherwise good job cute game!
Yeah I'll fix them, appreciate the feedback.
This is a good start to a game! Very cute graphics and vibes here. My only issue is that the music loop was really short, and the text blips were a little shrill. Otherwise, good job!
Thanks, and yup I am weak in music and yeah the sound do get annoying. Thanks for the feedback I'll fix them after the jam ends.
The art and sound are quite impressive. The dialogue sound can sometimes be a bit too high-pitched. Would recommend lowering the volume. Otherwise, a good game.
Please play and rate our game.
Yup I see many people point that out to me, so I'll fix it in an update after the jam.
