Theme interpretation
We incorporated the fusion theme using the player abilities. The player has access to 3 abilities which promote different playstyles as well as promote the use of the other abilities with it. For example, the Flow ability promotes the use of the Poise ability the Poise ability promoting the use of the Fury ability with it. We made sure that all 3 abilities could be used together in fusion in order to provide a different style of gameplay. We also made Tropi change textures depending on the combination of these active abilities!

Players Notice
We've encountered some bugs with the pause menu in the web build during development, if you encounter a bug with it (such as when resume the game it ends the level and brings you to the end game score screen), if you have a specific loop would love to know it! If this happens, either go back to the levels menu and reselect the level or hit the restart button, or refresh the page. Apart from that, please enjoy!

Development Software
Godot!

Accessibility
We made sure to make the game accessible by providing full support to keyboard, mouse and controller. Every input is rebindable. We've also provided audio settings for changing the volumes of sfx, music, or both. We also provide a short static paged tutorial that explain every game mechanic and what it does. We also made sure to create high constrast asssets (both as an accessiblity feature but also as a core feature of a bullet hell game to make sure the user can see the bullets and player well). Finally we also provided full save support for every setting and level progress. You can see all your scores for each level even on page refresh.

I think I’ll open this with what everyone says, it feels a little strange the unkillable enemies, in my case because I feel there isn’t progression of the level until I saw the end of the 1st level, I understood that it’s more endurance while trying to get a high score, so I guess it would be nice a counter that indicates how much time you have left, I think that way it’s more easy to understand the point of the level

I understand why the enemy is like this after playing the second level. I like the rechargeable bomb you get by hitting the enemy and most of the time you can get a better position between phases. I like to use fury and poise together while I didn’t use much flow power. The enemies are ok, nice patterns and the boss is fun, maybe the bullets are too big but I think it’s ok. I think the gameplay is ok, just because it’s a little different than usual it throws me off at the start but once you pick up what to do it is fun, I wanted more levels but the 2 that are right now are good as introduction

The songs are good, I recognize a sound in the second song, the bomb voice sound from mushihimesama. It’s nice the songs are good because since this game is endurance, it motivates me to survive and play the whole song, so for me I consider this also a kind of rhythm game for this reason haha, about the sfx, I would like a more punchier or more noticeable hit sound

I would like a more interactive tutorial, maybe some people won’t read that much or a screen full of text and I think that’s all I can say, it was a fun game :)
I put my 2 scores of both levels

I love the bullet patterns! I think I would prefer it more if you could actually kill the enemies, but it is nice that a point objective is at least encouraged. I would also like if the death screen showed you how many points you got. Music was really nice to listen to, but some SFX would have also been nice. Other than that, the art was nice and the gameplay was very engaging. Good work!

MORE BULLET HELLS! YIPEEE ꉂ(˵˃ ᗜ ˂˵)

I'm a beginner bullet hell player and the difficulty of this one is around Touhou-Normal diff, so it's a fun spot for me to pass the level after a couple of tries! Great bullet patterns designs, catchy soundtracks, lovely wolf boss, and the bullet collisions are very generous too.

The three abilities adds a layer of depth to the classical bullet hell and I like that you can even do tricks like farming HP behind some wave of enemies XD

The game feels pretty professional already, some of my suggestion for further development:

  • As others mentioned, as the player can shoot and the ability also adds to it, it's weird to have unbreakable enemies with time-fixed level structure, HP-based levels may fit better
  • More SFXs, and a title screen BGM
  • When using all abilities as a fusion, give it some kind of interesting additional effect

A bit too hard for me as a non-fan of the bullet hell genre lol.

I didn't realize at first but the other comments mention bullets don't destroy enemies so I guess they are just there to activate abilities? Something that I say in almost every bullet hell jam game now is that it seems like shooting is something you always want to be doing so why not just make it automatic and save the player the troubles?

Music was pretty good to listen to. Sadly it feels like it sorely lack sound effects and some more visual effects would also be nice.

Visuals are very nice, but I think because the UI designer is a separate person from the main developer so it does feel a little mismatched.

The movement is not bad but I think having zero acceleration at all makes it feel too robotic and rigid. I'm not sure if that what's bullet hell enthusiasts like since it's more responsive like that, but I would rather the player character have a tiny bit of acceleration so it gives it some feeling of weight.

Can't believe there's a third bullet hell in this jam. I must be in heaven (bullet heaven?) The game is fun with the difficulty needed for a bullet hell. Music is funky and cool to listen to, and the UI looks really nice too. A bit too much text, though. Biggest issues I think for me is that you can't even destroy any enemy in the game, so why even bother to have a shoot button? Feels a bit weird when shooting changes with the powerups, but it's doing absolutely nothing. But regardless, I still think the game is good enough and fun to play, so I guess that's the only thing that matters.

Other things I like:

  • Bullet patterns are amazing
  • Complex score system that encourages better gameplay

Suggestions:

  • Consider using QWER or something similar for the powerups. I know you could rebind them, but having them so far away from anything makes it almost impossible to use in a pinch (which, is always the case in a bullet hell)
  • Health and other displays is too small to be read when you are focusing on the shooting
  •  it's a bit awkward when you can't go too to the right. Considering allowing tropy's body going off screen for that
  • Some sound effects for taking damage, shooting and power-ups would be great

It's weird because enemies couldn't be destroyed, it's not like any other Shmup or Bullethell games, I've played Bullethell games that only allow avoiding bullets, but this game also allows attacking, But enemies can't be destroyed, I assume that attacking enemies only give the player scores, and abilities.

The game looks very polished, especially the menu options and UI.
