While this is not a genre that I, personally, enjoy to play, I love the narrative and design decisions that were put into this game. Its always nice to see designer think of new ways to capture the NES feel with straying from typical norms. A small gripe I have is that the text and dialogue systems feel a little clunky, while there is a skip button it can feel quite tiedous. Escpecially going from death to the main menu. Awesome Work!

Thank you, we appreciate that greatly!

It was definitely a conscious decision to try and balance the gameplay between action and exploration, as to not make it too slow paced or mundane, while still allowing the investigation aspects to unfold under the player's control.

There should absolutely be a skip/hurry dialogue option, and less punishing "death/failure" scene as well.  A lot of quality of life things like that never made it into the beta, but will definitely be addressed in the Deluxe version we are currently working on.
