The controls and mechanics were fun and satisfying.  The difficulty curve and level designs were well balanced as well.  Lots of fun!  Shooting and dashing were satisfying.  I also tried to beat the entire game without using the crossbow for an extra challenge afterward.

I actually thought your text noise was good and appropriate.  It gave a techy-vibe, and kinda reminded me of the intro to something sci-fi like Robocop.  The rapid typing effect was neat and "cold" sounding, appropriate for the challenging test-like environment in your game.  Keep up the good work! It is so great to see a family dev team as well : )

This is pretty challenging and fun!
I liked the pixel art. : )

Thank you, I tried to adhere to faithfully to the graphical limitations of the NES, and took heavy inspiration from games like Deja Vu, Dick Tracy and Nightshade, as well as Famicom Detective club games.
 :)

Thank you, we appreciate that greatly!

It was definitely a conscious decision to try and balance the gameplay between action and exploration, as to not make it too slow paced or mundane, while still allowing the investigation aspects to unfold under the player's control.

There should absolutely be a skip/hurry dialogue option, and less punishing "death/failure" scene as well.  A lot of quality of life things like that never made it into the beta, but will definitely be addressed in the Deluxe version we are currently working on.

Thank you very much for the kind words!

We ran into problems internally and weren't able to animate anything as intended, but we are currently working on a Deluxe version of the game, to finish, and polish the game, as about only 5-10% of what was made and planned actually made it into the game, and would love for your input again once it is presentable.

I had always intended to have extra frames of animation to make it extra charming, so the fact it didn't even get basic animation really hurt the aesthetic and vibe, but we learned a lot and will continue to use this as a learning experience, and as the foundation for a much better version.

Cool game!
The bomb timer is difficult to see against the background, but I found this to be simple and satisfying, plus the name is charming.

This game is amazing and very creative regarding the theme!
Nothing negative to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the mechanics, and controls were fine.

The last stage is challenging but still easily beatable.  The different level patterns and evolving difficulty was really nice, and the simple mechanics being unveiled naturally is appreciated.  Hopping right into the action without it becoming punishing or overwhelming is appreciated.

Really interesting mechanic overall.

I liked the idea and the core engine seems interesting, but the controls are disorienting and the loud death tone/sound effect is pretty hard on the ears.

This is incredibly creative and charming!  I could see this or something just like this being super addictive and actually educational at the same time, but math games aren't usually inherently fun, so this whole project seems like a delicate balancing act, and the end result is admirable.

The controls aren't super satisfying, but they are well designed overall. (Having to use the space bar exclusively for dialogue windows, while the mouse/click is being unused in those scenes doesn't make sense and is slightly jarring.)

I also found the "bonus points" scene ending abruptly without any sort of "invincibly frame" mechanic is somewhat troublesome, but overall this is amazing, especially for one person.

Satisfying jumping mechanics, and some of the limited graphics were nice, but the game isn't very original or challenging.

Like Gimmick meets Kirby

Temple Mayhem is a lot of fun and well made. I would have loved to play that as a kid especially if there was a lot of levels

Looks cool, I didnt get a chance to vote on it

Very crisp textures

I like the people in the windows and the well is a nice touch

Reminds me of Adventure Island or Star Tropics

Looks really sweet

I was gonna say the same thing.  Reminds me of Populous or something like that

Double erection!

Love all the details, especially the porch and bay window.  The additional views, texture and wireframe is a nice addition as well

Thanks! I like the look of simple models without texture
