Really enjoyed playing through this! Pixel art is strong  and was cute over all!

this was alot of fun to play! the exploration and trying to figure out what to do while slowly getting better at dodging and weaving the hornets is awesome. i love when i can get a big group up and just zip around the map while they all pop shots off :3 the style is also super solid. super cozy project! :3

WOOO BEES! So fun. My hand got tired after a while clicking so much.

Had a wonderful time.

Cool idea for a game. Wasps are a menace! I see it would've been hard to allow autoshoot by holding the left mouse button because it would drive players to quickly drain all their pollen. Still, it's kind of exhausting clicking so much. Maybe allowing players to charge shots for the same amount of pollen could be the best of both worlds? Just an idea. Maybe I should mind my own beeswax.

The bee squad idea is very original.

It took me a while to figure out all the mechanics (like how do you get a new bee, can you regen, how zone change works, etc.). I felt it a bit unintuitive at the beginning.

The artstyle is very well executed. The soundtrack fits it.

However, I don't understand your take on the Limitation.

Fun game!

Such a fun game! I was bit confused by the "Play" button but realized quick after what to do haha Like the controller of the bee swarm! GREAT JOB!

Fun game! A few cool mechanics with the extra bees, and a solid feel to the dash. If I could only ask for one thing extra, it'd be the ability to just hold down the left mouse to auto shoot, as rapidly clicking all the time is something not great for people with RSI. Also having the next level indicator point to which part of the screen I should go to would do a lot to keep the flow going. Otherwise great work!

I've not rated the game because I've not been able to play the game... I just get stuck on a black screen with a brown dot after pressing enter.  Got the game working... had to play it in Edge... BUT IT works. Which makes me think its an ... edge case... with a browser framing issue.  (I've had this happen with my games before, it's a weird bug with itch)

Solid little shooter. Had a lot of fun.

That’s weird, which browser are you using?

I'm using chrome. I hit enter and just get this.

Got it working with a different browser

Fun little shooter! I really liked the art style and could definitely see myself losing time and getting into the zone of just playing this for a little.

This was so fun! Flowers as ammo stations is a great mechanic, and getting your extra lives to also be turrets was so cool! What an interesting map + shooter concept.

I felt like I kept walking into wasps that had just spawned  in the direction that I was headed, so while the dodging mechanics felt tight, there was a slight sense that I'd be taking a hit or two at the beginning of each tile, just because I'm moving around while the enemies are still spawning off screen. It felt hard to maneuver safely because there's no indication of where they will be spawning, or first entering the screen from.

Addictive little game. Good job.

pretty fast paced and fun! i'm still a bit confused about what instruction is a lie exactly, but developing a strategy to go around and kill the hives was enjoyable c:

If i have any gameplay critiques, i wish that when one of my followers hits a flower it picks it up for me, instead of just deleting the ammo for me, and sometimes with 5 followers it becomes a matter of just sitting in the center of the screen and letting all the follower bees aimbot down each hornet as they spawn, but them being destroyed when fighting the hive kinda alleviates that, as it means i have to sit up in my chair for the boss fights which were engaging c: Otherwise to critique would be that i found it confusing what each weapon type did? i presume varyingly inverse amounts of damage and meter drain, but it ended up just being strongest to stay on the least meter draining attack so it was easier to heal. longer hit stun would have been nice, and maybe not letting hornets spawn right next to me when near the edge of the map, but none of htat stuff stopped me from finishing so i wouldn't consider it necessary changes.

That's really all negative i can say however, the direction is solid, i felt like the game communicated well with me, and it forced me to make decisions and formulate strategies, which is really really good for a short 2 week developed game like this! you did really good c:

Cool game bro, had fun playing it, 10/10

first top down shooter submission i found here XD

Developer

Oh thanks for that, happy you had some fun!

Okay, while I didn't really feel the jam theme in this one, it was a fun game nonetheless.

I liked the dashing mechanic, and I also noticed that the wasps can speed up over time. Once I figured out that hitting them slows them down again, I started spamming area attacks on them XD.

The bee companions were a nice addition too, although I think all of mine died during the Wasp Queen fight. That was probably my fault, i accidentally dragged them right on top of the queen and they all got caught in the explosion. Sadge :(

The art style is charming, and the music really gave me the feeling of playing a retro shooter. After reading your game description, I think you nailed the atmosphere you were aiming for.

My main concern is the lack of direction. After defeating the wasp, I wasn't sure where to go next. I noticed the flashing indicator, but it wasn't clear to me what it meant. I eventually headed to the beach, but after finishing that area I ran into the same issue again. I tried going right, but nothing happened, and only after some experimentation did I discover that I needed to go upward to find the Wasp Queen. A clearer objective marker or some guidance would help a lot.

Overall, I had a fun time with it and enjoyed the experience. Well done!

Oh hi there! You definitely experienced the theme limitation on my game because you felt lost, misguided and confused :), the goal was that one on purpose. Indications are a lie, remember. So you’ve got to figure out where to go by yourself because the game is tricking you out. Thanks for playing and for your comments!

Once I figured out what was going on I really enjoyed the combat it was fast paced and made sense to me.  Cool stuff!!

Developer

I appreciate your words, thank you

Woah, I love the combat. The dash, movement and aiming were very satisfying, and let's go, you can get your own bee army? (They left me though)

I did have to manually zoom in the webpage to make it bigger. Art is pretty cute... I had no idea where to go though, so I just kept going right.

Developer

Thank you for your comments. Even though screen resolution was intentional, now I think it looks better if it fits completely. Remember that the indications are misleading ;)
