fantastic game good job!
Thanks for playing!
I'm impressed at what you managed to accomplish in 2 weeks, the game feels very polished and I appreciated the attention to details, like being able to pet the cat! I also really liked the sound design, although the music did get a bit repetitive after a while.
In terms of gameplay, it was easy to pick up, although a bit too idle for my taste, it felt once I'd picked my interns, there was a lot of waiting around before I got to make any more decisions.
Great job overall though, this is a really solid entry and I can see it having potential for a longer game!
Thanks for playing!
Yeah I agree with the assessment of too much waiting around in the game at the moment. I rebalanced the game last minute to keep some of the abilities to only appear later in the game due to early feedback about complexity, but I think it ended up making the game having fewer decisions every day. It’s something I need to go back and redesign for sure.
Love the use of the limited palette, the sounds were super satisfying, and you can pet the cat. What more can one ask for?
Possibly the only way up from here is more cats. Thanks for playing!
Oh my oh my, what we have here?! Is it the BEST GAME EVER? ... yeah, it sounds like I had a lot of fun. If I try to nitpick at least something, it would be - jumping text in combination with different fonts (or bold style) in tutorial is harder to read. And it would be fine if I could click on the intern and that would show his stats instead of just mousing over him, cause then it may be trickier to check some popups for abilities.... I have nothing else! The rest? Perfection...
AND YOU CAN PET THE CAT!
Thank you so much for enjoying the game! It means a lot to me since you seem the type to give pretty honest feedback.
I agree with the text thing, will need to give everything a pass at some point.
I chose to show the info on hover to make it faster to go through the interns and quickly check their stats, but there could be other ways too. I’ll look into it.
And every game should have a cat in them :)
holy moly number go up :O the gameplay loop was super addicting and i loved how much depth there was to the arrangement of the different hires. everything had so much juice and crunch and almost everything bounced or wiggled. super satisfying to play, did pat the cat :3
Number go up gang unite! Thank you for playing the game! I actually wanted to put even more bounces and wiggles into the interactable elements but alas there wasn’t time. Glad to know everything still feels good to play though. Your game is definitely super juicy as well.
Wowzer this is really well made with a lotta character!! Love the art style and there is so much polish! The tutorial is the best i've ever seen from a game jam! You can really go into depth on the best layout and it satisfying seeing the numbers go up :)
Something to add, maybe there could be a way to upgrade the office with new lanes to fit more hires.
Amazing job!
Thanks a lot for playing! The tutorial could still be better tbh haha. I ran out of time and didn’t figure out all the proper ways to pause the game until an event happen like in the first few steps haha. If I expand on this game later, I’ll think of more ways to add mechanics into the game for sure, including expanding the layout in some ways. We’ll see 😉 Thanks again for playing!
Pretty cool looking game, the art is consistent and cool looking. I lucked into some overstat intern and it’s pretty smooth sailing :P. Gameplay is pretty much optimization the game with a lot of watching number go up kinda vibe - I guess it’s pretty chill watching the little animation.
The game is pretty short and a pretty chill experience. The interns also come with some perks but tbh I don’t really get what they do exactly aside from them being multiplier.
Haha yeah, the perks or abilities basically just multiply their working efficiency. It would be cool if I can make some unique characters in the future and players can have more agency in their builds, it would make the game more engaging.
Thanks for playing!
A really solid entry.
The art is peak, very good color palette, and many details. The 3D elements gave even more depth. And everything was animated.
During the tutorial, I didn't understand any ability, why would change the seats, etc. But I kept playing, and started to understand a few abilities, thanks to the icons and the highlight when the ability is enabled.
I wouldn't have understood the theme interpretation without the other comments. For the limitation, it was in the Best Ending 1 I think, but it wasn't enough a part of the gameplay.
Hey 0xNil, thanks a lot for playing my game! Super glad that you thought the art and animations were good.
I agree with your assessment of the tutorials as well. It should really have a slower info curve, but it was the best I got for the jam haha. I really hope the preview highlight would carry me 🤣
And yeah, now that a lot of people have said it and because the weird obtain condition for Best End 1, it’s not the best interpretation in the jam for sure. But I’m glad you had fun anyway!
Really great game juice doing some heavy lifting here, game looks and feels great. I admit I was a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out all the abilities and stats that the interns had during the tutorial and initial phase. I'd suggest doling out complexity over time to ease the player in a little gentler. Really nice game!
Hey thanks for playing! Yeah I’m completely agree with you. I took a risk making a strategy type of game for this jam even though I know most players can get impatient. I actually found it quite difficult to make scripted scenarios for systemic games like this, so I did the best I could for the tutorials. Definitely could use meta-progression to introduce mechanics more slowly as a future plan though.
SO MUCH FUN!!!! INCREDIBLE GAME FEEL INCREDIBLE EVERYTHING!
Haha thank you so much for playing!
This is so polished, it's really satisfying to try and find good synergies and optimise
I really like summer internships as a take on the theme as well, it's a pretty fun subversion when so much of the games are themed around beaches or something lol
Thanks for playing the game! Thanks as well for liking my theme interpretation haha, since I have found out that not everyone thinks so XD
Incredible game! The art is gorgeous, and the gameplay is really fun! I love how the interns are like toddlers that run around with arms waving when unsupervised in the waiting room lol. There should probably be a limit on how long the working animation takes, since near the end most of my employees would make around 800 prompts and it would take about 20 seconds to complete, and with 6 employees it really dragged on. This has great potential to be a full game!
Thank you for the compliments!
I’m so glad you mentioned the interns running around in the wait room because it was one of my favorite things I put in the game too😆 In my mind it represents many things at once:
I also agree with your feedback on the typing animations. I was worried about that too. I had a check to speed it up if the score is over 50 prompts but you’re right that I need to try some other things to curb the duration of the higher scores.
Thank you again for playing the game!
I think this is one of the best game I've played so far. Audio, Art and Design. It looks so cool, it looks more like a complete full game than a game jam game.
Thank you so much for the kind words! I tried my best to push myself a bit out of my comfort zone this jam so I’m glad players enjoy it.
First of all, great job!
Now I'll give some harsh feedback but because I love the game.
Pros : The puzzle, interns, production lines and synergies are very very good, I could see myself playing this game long time, very much like a Balatro to be honest. The loop is addicting and does scratches the optimization itch. I really like it's theme, even tho it's not what the jam proposed.
Cons : The art is good for a game jam, but there is so much going on in the game info's that I would've wanted a cleaner color palette, some stuff bigger and some smaller (for readability reasons), and maybe pixel art is not the way to go, not sure. What I know is that I had to squint and really inspect things at first. Mostly a UI/UX pass and some art adaptations would go a long way. The art in itself is good but there needs to be a fit for the game.
There is much more in both categories, but those are the biggest imo. Overall great stuff. Hope it wins the gameplay category :D. Also let me know if you continue this project.
Thank you very much for the comment. Idk why you prefaced it by saying it was harsh but that was a pretty nice comment overall haha. It's true that I thought about Balatro and some other combo-based games and try to see how can I put a spin on it. I get the theme criticism as well. Like I wrote in another reply, it was supposed to be about college summer internships, which may or may not be very relatable to everyone.
You're also absolutely right about the game info too. I chose a very limited color palette (only 5 colors) because I thought that's the limit of my art skills given the jam duration XD I could maybe see it continue with this palette, but I would need to solve other problems like the different types of task should have different conveyor belt and avatar artworks and silhouettes, a better detail description panels etc.
Thank you again for the kind words and for enjoying the game!
Good stuff! Lots of fun to play, lots of cool details, and super smooth to interact with.
Thank you so much for playing!
The work is mysterious and important!

Took me a while but I won! This was incredibly polished and well made. I also enjoyed seeing the use of picocad models in a 2d game! The models were great, the controls were great, everything else was great! I loved seeing the little animations in the background too like the security camera swinging around. 10/10 game
Thank you for the compliments! I tried my best with the models since they are my first ones ever, haha, but I think they are passable since I squished them down to pixel arts so I can hide all the imperfections XD Your models and textures look much better than mine!
Really nice game, very chill to play and nice art and music! Would be fun to see a few other work stations etc added if the game went forward! (:
Thanks for playing! You're the first one to say that because for some players it was already too complex a game XD But glad to hear there may still room for me to grow this game out :)
Well done little resource manager. Finally figured out the seat optimizations by week 3. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really nice submission, lovely pixel art with a fun loop, definitely kept me playing for a while!
Thank you for the kind words!
dang I cannot get past week three LOL, super fun game, very polished, loved the art!
Haha yet some people think it's too easy. Game balancing is hard 😭
