Although the game is a bit rough, it definitely has potential! Combat felt good, and I really liked the spritework. I would love to play again after the jam.

I am sorry but I have to say this is a buggy mess.  why is their so  many holes you can get stuck in. i didn't realize i could get on them until i few into them and they had some bug. the first spot i saw was packed with enemies. i would suggest fix the pits, and the npcs are standing on air. so i can't give a good rating

Developer

Yeah, I was rushing the level design on the last day - didn't properly test it all. ^_^"

Already made a few bug fixes + updates to the current build - so once I get a bit further along - I'll post an update! (Still working on the floating NPCs - seems like some of my platforming logic is moving them up higher)

All good - I appreciate the honest review/ feedback. :3

Thanks for playing!

Despite the bugs, the NES vibe is really fascinating!

Developer

Slowly but surely working on the bugs! (Making good progress with the mechanics, cleaning up the layouts and removed the holes/  death pits from the HUB world)

Also working on new assets/ designs for the enemies and remaining bosses.

Glad you like the NES vibe! :D

Thanks for playing!

Really liked the character design, but there isn't that much gameplay.

By the way why is this also in the NES jam 2026 ??

Developer

Yeah, I think I was a bit too focused on making a bunch of different mechanics - I kinda rushed the actual level design + gameplay. (I'll be making updates to this soon.)

As for also being in the NES Jam 2026 - I was inspired by their theme "Horrible Night To Have A Curse" - so I decided to give this Metroidvania game an NES-vibe so it can fit with the NES jam's guidelines. (I am thinking of adding a more authentic NES filter as an option in the future)

I started with the NES Jam and noticed the Metroidvania jam was still on-going so I put this game in both - hoping to get some good feedback from both jams! :D (If I started when Metroidvania started - this game might have been a bit more polished lol)

Thanks for playing! I'll see if I can continue making some more progress these next few days.

I enjoyed playing your game. I love the artstyle. It has a really cozy feel to it. One thing you might think about fixing up is the text alignment in the HUD. But overall, really awesome job!

Developer

Yes! After I finished uploading and checking the next morning - I thought I had updated the text alignment - but I totally missed it. XD

Thankfully, it's an easy fix - I'll make sure to fix this in the next patch after the voting session ends.

Glad you love the art style! More designs and characters to come in the next update. ;)

Thanks for playing! :D

Definitely some cool things going on but as you noted, a lot of bugs and things to work out. It took me a while to figure out how to actually get to a level, since the jump is so small, I’d miss the stairs, fall past the level changing platforms and would just be off screen. Eventually I did make it to the level, and the was able to get crushed by the boss. Keep it up!

Developer

Oh yeah, I've got lots of fixing and updating to do lol

Yes, good catch! I noticed that Tina's jump is basically non-existent when on the stairs - I'll add some logic to be able to properly jump off the stairs. (Also I'll completely re-do the level design to better position/ layout the stairs throughout the stages) I also have to add a few kill zones if the player falls through a pit.

As for the bosses - they are a bit too hard + a few of their moves + attacks are all over the place - so I'm gonna tweak them a bit more. (Also, going to fix their boss room layouts)

More updates to come soon!

Thanks for playing and giving some good feedback! :D

so did i find a bug or something cause i just couldnt see the player at all :(

Developer

Oh, that might be a bug - does this happen when you first load the game?

Or did you fall off the map? (I forgot to add some logic to reset once you fall a certain distance from the floor tiles. ^_^")

Submitted

i think  i fell after a while of exploration also i think the game would help having a toturial and stuff

Developer

Ah okay, yes I need to fix that in the next update.

And yes, good idea! Let me work on one while waiting for the voting period to finish.

Thanks for the feedback! :D

The concept is neat, and I like the main character's design - there's a lot of good animation on her in game sprite! It's a little hard to rate as-is but with some work this could be something really cool!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Yeah, it's still a bit rough around the edges but I have plans to continue developing it - so hopefully it is really cool by then. :D

I can tell that there's some promise here but its definitely got a ways to go, keep at it!

Developer

Absolutely! I'll be working on updating this daily - doing as much as I can to get it polished!

Thanks for playing! :D

I really like your assets and ideas, but I couldn't get the debugging tools to work like you described

Developer

Hey, thanks for playing!

Glad you like the assets and ideas! :D (I still gotta polish it up a bit more.)

Oh, I totally forgot to add that in the description when updating the description! (Good catch!)

I just updated the description - you can toggle the relics Tina can equip by pressing the "U" keyboard key (you can cycle between a "halo", "shield" or "wings" relics that passively help out the player)

Also, if you press the "1" and "2" debugging buttons, make sure you are in one of the four levels outside of the main HUB world (where you initially spawn) - the debugging only works on the outside levels. ;)
