also taking a break from polishing and bugfixing, my teams game is here if you wanna roll around and break stuff : ) https://taylorhooten.itch.io/very-cool-ferris-wheel-game

Submitted

This is a really cool and funny game! The city feels so packed like a maze! I also love how there is just a ramp that has no warning signs or anything so any cars (or Ferris wheels) can fly down it lol. This feels really well polished and I had a lot of fun playing it! (even if I did crash into almost every car in the city) I didn't find any bugs and I didn't really have any issues. The loading time did take a while, and it made my browser really laggy for a bit, but it was fine when it finished. I noticed that you put a loading screen there and I think that helps a lot. Great job!

Submitted

thanks for checking it out and really glad you liked it! very surprised (in a good way) that you didn't have bugs, i feel like ive been responding to bug reports all morning... good luck on the jam!

Hey EmergencyHam! Love your name!

I checked out Project Helix and thing you may have checked out mine too, but here's a link if you didn't: starboardbowgames.itch.io/spinsanity

It's a brand new day and I have been so busy I honestly don't remember if you did or not.  But the more feedback the better in these last few hours!

Submitted

Thank you! I did check out yours earlier, but I did play it again. It is just as fun as I remember it being. This is honestly one of those games that stand out from the rest. The amount of polish and how fun it feels to play is amazing. I did somehow get this to happen:

I'm not even entirely sure what I did. I think what happened was that I hit one of the voids then the screen just popped up and now those are there? They also just keep spawning and merging into that bottom triangle. I think there are six in this screenshot.

Submitted (1 edit)

I am willing to bet the spawn timer doesn't stop when the game ends.  If you let more spawn they'll tikely take over your computer!

looking for some feedback, thanks! https://memez6.itch.io/storage

This is a cool game but I cant figure out how to get the tutorial text off my screen:The text disappears when you go to the next level, but I was unable to read most of it.

Submitted

hopefully I fixed it, if you can try the game again.

Submitted

That seemed to do the trick! This is a really cool game, and I love the idea of this process of elimination. I feel like the spin mechanic is a bit of a second thought. I do like the mechanic that removes people when the timer goes down but I feel like you always want a bigger number, which seems contradictory since that kills more innocent people. I couldn't find any more bugs which is good! I think you did a really good job making this!

Submitted

i still havent finished mine, but if you can playestest and point out any issues that woudl be nice https://lepotatomaster.itch.io/super-hammer-guy

:)

Submitted

It might just be me, but this game is really hard. I keep trying to press space to jump since that is just what I'm used to in games. I also find it really difficult to do the super jump thing where you need to jump, use your hammer, hold the direction you need to go, and dive down all within a short time. I really want to play it more, but I genuinely can't pass the first level T_T. I really like the character though. I find the hammer above their head funny for some reason.

Hi all - would love some feedback on my little puzzle game :)

Drop your game link in a reply and I'll give my notes as well!

Submitted

Wow this is awesome! I can't believe you made a level editor too! It definitely took me way too long to realize there was text at the top explaining the requirements. It then took me even longer to notice that there was a clockwise and counterclockwise requirement too. I'm probably just blind or something lol. I did notice that exiting full screen does weird things to the game if you make it full screen again. The text starts doing this and all music stops playing but I can still the gear spinning sound. This is a really fun puzzle game and that transition is so good.

I was waiting to see another puzzle game! I also made one if you would like to check it out! Project Helix
This is amazing though, I love it!

Submitted

I love the concept and mechanical execution. Very intelligently designed and scalable idea. Unfortunately don't have the time today to play through a bunch of levels but it'll be on my list for the voting period!

Thanks for checking mine out! The level editor is how I made the levels so I thought I'd put it in there haha.

Submitted

Its my first game and i would love to hear what you have to say about it https://zealouslyguy.itch.io/spinning-over-it

Submitted

This is difficult... It's a fun game though once you get the hang of it. I feel like adding even a little music could go a long way for this game. Rage games are also not my favorite, but this was really cool! Good job!

Any feedback if you get to mines please!! https://larnx12.itch.io/rotation-chamber

Hey buddy! You might remember me from the thread at the beginning of the jam (I was the one admiring your Homestuck pfp!).

Honestly, your game is just wow... I'm sure it’s going to be one of the top contenders. I absolutely loved it! If you're looking for bug feedback, I found two small things:

  1. The screen-fade bar somehow squishes in the middle instead of covering the whole screen.
  2. On the water level, I got stuck in a loop (I fell into the water, pressed E, ended up on the wall, and got stuck in the textures unable to move).

But honestly, these are tiny details compared to the atmosphere. Your voice acting is beyond amazing, and the concept is an easy 11/10. Really great job!

If you're interested in checking out mine, here is the link: Limbswich by Alexey Nazariev . By the way, I’m going to follow you! I'd love to stay in touch and be friends, I really dig your ideas and your take on gameplay.

Submitted

I sure do remember you! and thank you for the bug feedback! I'll see what I can do

Submitted (1 edit)

I just got done playing your demo and it was good! I liked how it was Doom/Wolfenstein like, would say add maybe more sound effects maybe add a crosshair and maybe add control tips like "press button to switch to item" because it took me a while to even find out I had different items but other than that it was good!

Submitted

I totally get where you're coming from! Just in case, I put all the control details on the game page, though I completely understand it might not be super obvious at first glance.

Thanks a lot for playing! Once the jam is over, I’m planning to do a major overhaul of the game and I’ll definitely add everything you mentioned, and even more.

Good luck! 🚀

I am telling my kids that this is Portal 3.

Wow. Just wow. I have seen some games that do room rotation but this one takes it to the next level! There were just a couple of things I noticed. The black for the elevator screen is just a bar that doesn't cover the full screen:And a similar issue for the red death effect:
Overall this is a really interesting game and I'm sure you are going to place at the top of at least one category! Amazing job!

hi friend! check this out - Limbswich by Alexey Nazariev

This looks really cool! There were a couple of parts at the beginning that I had trouble with. Mainly not knowing I had a slingshot and spend a while looking around the map trying to find it until I tried pushing all the buttons on my keyboard and realized I had it the whole time. Also, I clicked out of full screen for a second and I fell out of the map:

There is no reset button I'm aware of, so I was just stuck there.

I really like the feel of this game, and I definitely want to play it fully when the rating period starts!

Submitted (1 edit)

Thank you so much for the feedback and the bug report! I honestly didn't even know about that bug (and to be fair, I didn't even know you could somehow exit the fullscreen mode). If that happens, you can just refresh your browser or restart the game for now.

Could you please describe in a bit more detail how exactly you ran into this bug? It would really help me understand what's causing it.

As for the slingshot, I completely get where you're coming from! A lot of people have pointed this out, which is why I added the weapon-switching info to the description. I definitely need to add this directly into the game somehow, but I'm still not sure how to do it natively without breaking the immersion.

Good luck!

Submitted

Hey! Sorry about the delayed response... Itch is really hating me making all these comments. Thinks I'm spamming lol. I have to keep fighting it since it keeps blocking me. I'm going to try and fit all the info into one comment because I'm afraid itch might block my comments for tomorrow.

So, what happened was that when I exited the full screen mode, I got this popup on my page tab that said this:

An embedded page at html-classic.itch.zone says
An error occurred running the Unity content on this page. See your browser JavaScript console for more info. The error was: SecurityError: Pointer lock cannot be acquired immediately after the user has exited the lock.

I'm pretty sure that I exited full screen on the first bridge you can grow while hugging the invisible wall and I don't know how the rest happened. The next thing I knew I just found myself in the water, unable to move.

I hope this helps narrow down the issue as I have no clue how failing to grab the pointer lock is somehow related to clipping through walls. I also hope you find a nice way to fit the slingshot issue into the game nicely.

Good luck during this rating period! I will definitely give your game a rating when it opens!

I totally feel you on the messages thing! I'm so tired of solving those captchas, and then it says "please wait a few minutes" but forces you to wait for like half an hour!

Thank you so much for such a detailed response! This bug seems to be an engine-side issue, so I won't have time to fix it before the deadline, but hopefully, not many people will run into it. I'll definitely squash it after the jam.

As for the slingshot, I actually just fixed it! (You can even check it out if you want). I solved the immersion/nativeness issue in the most straightforward way possible because there weren't really many other options, haha. I think this is going to be my last update before the voting starts because I am VERY SERIOUSLY tired.

Thanks again! How about a follow for a follow, if you're down? It would be awesome to stay in touch with a fellow dev like you!

Submitted(+1)

Of course! I love seeing number go up lol. And I am definitely seriously tired too. If I had to rate my tiredness, I would give it a 5/5 for seriousness. Also, sometimes the obvious solution is the best solution. I don't think that message even breaks the immersion. I doubt a player would ever think "Oh this game is so not immersive because it is teaching me how to play it by telling me to press 2 in a way that breaks the fourth wall."

Again, great job on your submission! It was definitely a challenge making a game but I'm sure glad I made one and I hope you are too! :)

Bro you can't just put an uncensored job application form without warning... That can cause serious mental damage for some people. I really liked this game. Immediately seeing the title made me wonder what this game could possibly be about. I was not disappointed. The controls are really easy to understand, and I believe there is a lot of potential for speedrunning this game. I would love to see someone master this game and breeze through it. Like celeste speedruns. Also, the transitions between levels... completely unexpected. I laughed out loud the first time it happened. Also, I don't think people need a tutorial for running from the irs if they already know how to do irl lol. This is an awesome game! You did amazing!

Wow the idea of this game is really interesting! The voice acting is amazing and it seems really well polished! The only thing is that for some of the answers it doesn't seem like they are responding to what I rolled. This is just a minor thing, and the story was really good nonetheless. I like the upgrades and being able to guarantee what you say next. This is a really cool game! Good job!

Hello! I wasn't able to play your game because I'm still a bit hesitant about downloading things from itch, but your game looks really interesting. If it's possible, I think you would greatly benefit from making a web version. For jams, web games end up getting a lot more plays compared to download only. If you ever make a web version, I would be glad to come back and play it!

Just submitted my first solo game jam!
A bit embarrassed but would love it if you could give it a spin when you're free.

You should not be embarrassed about this game! This is awesome! I only had one issue where when I was playing it sometimes the points I would grab onto would not move me at all, no matter my distance to it. This is a fun game, and it seems perfect for mobile! Congratulations on completing your first solo game jam! You should be proud of yourself!

Thanks for playing! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I'll definitely check out that bug immediately and get it fixed. Thank you for the heads-up and the support!

This is super fun! To gain a bunch of speed then come crashing into a bunch of objects feels really nice. I didn't realize that energy was the amount of turns you had left so I was jumping around carelessly at first. I also really like the action log in the corner and how it shows your turns score and multipliers. I couldn't find any bugs with this game! Good job!

Submitted

Thank you for playing and for the great feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed the movement and the action log. 😄

I’ll definitely try to make the energy system clearer in a future update. Thanks again!

I have a bunch of negative feedback for this game! A ton of bugs (1) that ruined the experience (not). When I went back to the main menu from a level it sounded like the music track was playing twice. That's it for the negative feedback, now onto the negative negative feedback. This was a really cool puzzle game! I like how simple it was to pick up and how you keep adding more content as the game goes on. I also really appreciate the level preview before you start. That is a quality-of-life feature that makes a game feel so much better. The placing items mechanic was also cool. It kind of gives the player a reason to make a strategy before they start playing!  Good job on completing this game!

I made the decision to learn how to gamedev immediately after the YT announcement so I tried to learn how to use Godot to make this (while juggling college finals).  I tried making everything myself, to practice Blender and FL Studio as well. Not knowing how to code and scraping by with YT tutorials was brutal though (dialogue boxes were a special kind of hell lol.)

I dunno if this is anything to be proud of (all the other jam projects look super cool and make me question how efficiently ya'll use your 24 hours per day!) but I made my thing.
