The art is so good and I also like the gloomy character too! I like any game with such a jazzy soundtrack too. Small thing but I really like the bouncy animation of the slot coming into place, and I really like the death circle zoom in animation, the cool animation details really adds a lot! The gameplay is pretty clever and I like the idea of mathing it out for your best chances of surviving. There's also lots of cool synergy!
Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Most of the animations done with shaders. I am fairly new to it so I couldnt do everything I've imagined but I'm glad you liked the ones I did managed to do. Thanks for playing!
Gloomy was super sweet, I liked the art and the music a lot. :) Well done!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed my game!
This is wholesome! So cute and fun! The art is amazing and the story is lovely. I honestly enjoyed your game! In the boss fight tho', there is the chance you get a "on enter, next card will reroll" on the 3rd spinner. I imagine this should not be the case, the boss card did not change of course, so it acted like "this does nothing". Great work!
Thank you! You are right if reroll card is at the boss fight or rather is at the last slot it does nothing. It does look like a bug tho doesnt it lol. Maybe I should have added like "nope" text coming out if it can't do anything. Thanks for your feedback and thanks for playing!
Super cute. Loved all the pixel art and the mechanics were really creative. Some more feedback on how many lives the boss has would be helpful, after I hit him three times I wondered if it was an infinite fight. The background music was a jam.
Thank you! I didn't think of that great idea! I wanted to keep the bosses heath ambigous as a design but it would have been better if after few hits Gloomy comments on that they are closer to defeating the boss. Thanks for the feedback!
The art is super cute (esp the surprise at the end!) and the music fits so well! Great work :D
Thanks for playing!
Great idea with a really nice execution, really simple to get into and the tooltips on rightclick were plenty to figure things out. Art and music were both cute, the chance % of the slots being told to you is a nice touch (with the small note that it never seemed worth it to risk trying to match three enemies, since getting attacked harms you so much). Really enjoyed playing!
Thank you for your kind words! Yeah, you are right. Matching doesnt worth the risk sometimes but I wanted to keep that in as a risk factor anyway. I also wanted to add the same matching mechanic for every type of slot but couldn't focus on that due to other parts of the game needed much more work. Thanks for playing!
Audio works really well, good work :D
Thank you for playing!
Gloomy is adorable! Good game length for a jam and the difficulty seemed quite generous too (Which is good)

Tutorial is kind of intense with just walls of text explaining how it works. It's not easy to internalize how the game works.
I would prefer something more interactive where you do a single action and then there's some short dialogue between each aspect.
The items could have had some explanations when you hover over them. Even if they're kinda self explanatory.
The enemies too, seemed like one of them always knocks you back and it took me some time to get that.
I'm curious how well this game idea could be expanded into a longer game? Maybe I just lack imagination though. Doesn't matter for the jam rating of course.
The music fits the vibe perfectly! Even if you didn't make it yourself. The SFX had some problems, but that seems to be a known bug in web version.
Overall a very pleasant game especially for the game jam context of playing a billion different games in a short time😁
Thank you for playing! Yeah, the idea of giving the tutorial in smaller doses is much much better than what I've done. Items and everything else do have explanations when you hover them while holding right click. The problem is that it is defininetly hard to understand that they have that kind of function and that could have been solved by your suggestion of adding interactive small dose tutorials.
I couldnt do much about sfx problems on web. I tried but it seems when exporting on web the audio channels gets little funky and can't really function when there is multiple audioPlayers active. Although it also could be because of how browsers render games in general. Realizing there is too much output and filters them as "needs to be cut" noise.
I don't really plan on releasing a full game but I had a lot of new ideas for the game like different slots, new progression, new consumables, upgrades, new bosses and an endless mod. Maybe if I get some free time I could implement them.
Thanks for your review and feedback! Much appreciated!
You're using Godot right? Did you try putting "Default Playback Type.web" to "Stream"?
The docs have a warning that it might cause crackling or latency but it has usually fixed my problems for web build audio.
(oh you mentioned filters those don't even work unless it's set to stream so maybe you tried it already?)
Yeah I think those things you mentioned would help a ton to make the game feel even more polished. Great Job!
I didn't try that but I'm gonna look into it, maybe it could help for future builds. Thanks a lot!
If you didn't try it and you're using any audio effects in Godot it's most likely the issue since the docs say:
"Note: AudioEffects are not supported when playback is considered as a sample."
Sample is the default playback type for web.
While the game gives you plenty of resources to beat it, since there is no way to influence the RNG, it can become a really really frustrating experience to waste spins into what basically ends in a back to back "damage" zone or trap zone, sometimes the slot feels like it stop in a good spot just to move one more time and land in a bad spot, might be a delivered choice by the developer, but still, you end with a sour taste in your mouth.
Regardless was a really fun game, visuals and audio are great choices, and the way the slots spins feels really good to watch
Yeah, I get what you mean. I really wanted it to be a nice combination between rng and strategy but couldn't implemented it in time. I actually already code in some stuff that helps to strategies more but couldn't find a time to use them properly(consumables that locks slot so traps couldnt reroll them, luck increasing mechanics etc.) Which is why if I decide to develop it little more to polish it after the jam I will prioritize the strategic mechanics. Thanks for the feedback!
I would die for Gloomy. Very good entry! I really liked the boss fight at the end. The audio was also really really good!
Thank you so much! I'm really happy that people liked Gloomy. He is actually the reason I even started to learn pixel art properly for game development.
That was a very fun and cute game! I really like the idea and core mechanics, it was fun to gamble a bit with my spins and I also enjoyed the boss fight at the end, great work! :)
Thank you! I'm happy that you like the boss fight. That was one of my favorite part to develop.
Very cute. I love Gloomy :)
Thank you for playing!
I really enjoyed it, couldn't finish it all because for some reason I got stuck on a round. I ended a round getting poisoned, and the next starting one I was stuck on "Moving" and gloomy refused to move.
Art, sfx and music were all good!
Oh, very interesting. I tried to get rid of the bugs as much as I can during playtesting but it seems this one escaped my sight. Thanks for the feedback!
One of the best games I've played in this jam so far! The concept was super creative and eliminating enemies by getting 3 in a row was a really cool mechanic. Amazing job!
Thank you! I actually wanted to do a lot more with matching mechanic but the idea came little late to me so couldn't add more interactions like that. Glad you liked it tho!
I was not expecting the boss fight :D
I enjoyed risking spinning each area in hopes of getting a good path.
The concept leaves a lot of room for expansion
I'm glad I got Gloomy to safety <3
Thank you so much! I've worked really hard on the boss and had to leave a lot of things out from his move set because of the time. I'm happy that you enjoyed it. I wanted to add a lot more content but artwork took much more time than expected but im thinking of expanding it.
i love the art style + gloomy!! the game feels really polished both in terms of design and in the gameplay itself -- i really like the various elements that you've added to elevate the slot machine gameplay loop like the boss fight, the different items, and the various boons and hazards each slot may hold. you have sm gamedev potential!!
my one q would be: do the dice at the top do anything or are they just showing the probabilities for each slot? maybe i'm just silly but the dialogue seems to indicate that you can do more with them than just inspect them, but i could only inspect. either way, good game >:)
Thank you! Glad you liked the art style! This was my first game that I also did art for so I was worried if it was good enough. For the question: No it only for showing the probability of the slots but you are right the dialogue I added kinda points at like there is something more. Maybe I could add an item that if you possess it you can reroll the chances for slots as well. Thanks for the feedback!
I love the vibe here, and it's got an overall finished feel to it too.
Thank you! The vibe I was going for was more of a casino style with neon colors but I ended up doing it much more cartoonish lol. Glad you enjoyed it tho.
An ultra polished and fun game! Frist game in this jam I played through to the end! Great work, would be curious to see what the developer (or the team) does next!
Thanks a lot! Glad you see the ending! I was worried if anyone gonna keep playing enough to see the boss lol. I am a solo dev but I'm thinking to work with teams on the later jams.
Such wonderful art, and cute little ghost guy , this one fuels my gambling addiction to a t, only issue is that the damage tiles are a little to common maybe its just my luck haha..
Yeah, it became a lot more luck depended than I expected lol. When I playtested it sometimes I get to the finale with more than 200 health but sometimes im barely alive. Definitely needs much more improvement to make it more strategic. Thanks for the review!
It's really fun to gamble your way out of danger. I enjoyed reward and punishment mechanics of the slots and enemy behaviors, and Gloomy looks adorable and funny. I enjoyed playing this game.
