I would say that this is a great example of how one can bring a simple mechanic and package it into a game. Great work! There's also a nice foundation there with the shop/ticket system for future additions .

One of the more creative ideas I've seen this jam, I love the art, and gameplay, the only thing bad is I want more. For being your first game, this is great, and I see you might keep working on it after the jam, and I hope to see what comes next. It feels like an early flash game right now in the best way possible, feels like I could just play this so much.

Definitely would be cool to see this expanded on, it reminds me of that one DS exclusive plants vs zombies minigame. Moving the ferris wheel feels pretty cool!

Cool game idea, it has potential, you submitted it 4 days early, and it’s your first game jam, very well done!

I got up to a 100 ticket score, then decided to throw in the towel.

A cool idea I would do is to have different people who are in a travelling carnival to be the turrets, like a fire breather, cannon, ringmaster with a whip and even a freakin tiger.

Anyway, great job ByteSizedBrownies!

Very unique concept and really cute art! I see the vision and look forward to what you could build this into.

Such a cool and creative concept ! I'd love to see this game fleshed out more with new enemies, tower types etc.

The visuals are so good! And the Ferris elements even have physics when you spin the wheel around violently!! :D
Hope you can design some cool towers and enemies in the future ^^

Like the game and the idea of using the ferris wheel to setup weapons, but I feel it's a bit too easy to trivialize any enemy with a small wall of guns

Thank you so much for playing!! The difficulty drop of is my biggest regret lol but I thought it would be better to submit something over nothing T^T hopefully I'll have time later when i'm less busy to add more difficulty, turret and enemy types, etc.

Very creative use of the theme, I could definitely see this becoming a really fun Cookie Clicker type game with more upgrades. One criticism I have is that the controls are a bit finicky. Maybe adding keyboard support for up and down arrows to spin the ferris wheel clockwise and counter clockwise?

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and the feedback!! I'll definitely try to add it after the jam ends and I have more time :>

This was a creative use of the theme! I really liked the hand drawn aesthetic, the core gameplay loop was definitely interesting, I had to remind myself it was a ferris wheel and I had to go backwards a little bit toward the bottom rather than just straight up and down a few times. It did get a little boring after a while as there isn't any variety in enemy patterns and once ive got a bunch of turrets the can't really get very far. That said though, I really liked it for what it was.

Thank you so much for playing and the kind feedback!! Another commenter also addressed the wheel, so i'll probably add arrow controls or smth to make it more intuitive. I really wanted to add more enemy and turret types but life just got in the way :( but hopefully I can fix it after I get some more free time!
