this is a beautiful game, and a great creative take on the roulette concept. looks, feels and sounds lovely <33

Thank you so much!

A very impressive concept! It makes perfect sense that a gambling addict would only be able to say the words their mental roulette lands on.

The roulette animation and sound effects feel very realistic. The UI is clean and professional, and the story is quite educational. The voice acting is also excellent!

I wasn’t entirely sure whether choosing among the three characters affects the odds of the wheel, or how the betting rules actually work. So in my first three runs, Jessica ended up leaving. On my fourth playthrough, I bet all my money on “Guarantee” + “I’m sorry,” and Jessica stayed. I’m not even sure how I won, but I felt proud and happy, like a real gambler! :D

Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience~

Great game! The CRT effect was so cool. The music is also really fitting.

Not to take away from the seriousness of the game's theme, but that CRT monitor was a cool effect :) Visuals and audio was great, and it's a great concept of placing bets on words while gambling, on the topic of gambling. I'm just unsure on 3 game play aspects; 1) how does choosing a personality type affect the game? I'm not sure if there were any advantage/disadvantage behind the scenes (it would have been great to show those on screen). 2) Were the bets on word choices completely random? Or was i suppose to bet on the probable outcome of the conversation? Or bet on the words that matches the thought bubble of the player?

All in all, tt's a good game and it's well polished, and it's a great job by your team!

Cute game! Really liked the music :)

Really liked the soundtrack and the general atmosphere

As soon as I heard the lo-fi hip hop start playing, I knew this would be a banger and I was right! Super polished, and the voice acting was the cherry on top. PLEASE FORGIVE ME, JESSICA

Wonderful game. I wish there was more endings/dialogue options! Good work!

Developer

Thank you :)

It's a really cool idea, but you might end up always giving the same answers, and I'm not sure how much that impacts the story's progression.

Thank you for the comment.
It was a game design choice, when i play tested it at first it felt like the player had no control, and a lot of times you couldn't get your words picked at all and it felt frustrating, so i've made the choice to help it along a bit, it is nowhere near 100%, and if it wasn't for a jam and I had a lot of criticism like yours, i would've changed it.
Just for a jam like this and a very short game, i prefered giving players a bit more control :)

Yeah. It makes sense

If the rng would be less obviously rigged, then i would've enjoyed it more, like i've seen that the ball was getting faster at times, and i basically have 100% win rate from 2 playthroughs. So this way I didn't become so invested in the game, as it felt like i was just selecting my action and waiting for it to resolve. The crt made it look worse i think, especially from a readability stand of point, but great choice to make it easy to deactivate.

But it's a nicely made game, just didn't really fit the theme for me, so i didn't really got involved for too long. The art and music is great, the voice acting was a great addition, although it felt a bit too much for me and sometimes was different from what was written.

Developer

First of all thank you for the comment.
Secondly i accept the criticism and thank you for that as well.
As for not fitting the theme of the jam in your opinion, what would you have done differently to fit it better? than a roulette where you spin a wheel to win, and having a serious conversation hehe.

Submitted(+1)

Well it's because no matter what i bet on, it always won, apart from 1-2 instances (even then the same group of words was chosen), like i'm not even kidding, and i didn't just play once. So that way even if you have a roulette wheel, if the outcome is set, then the spinning is just cosmetics. A serious conversation doesn't equal spinning the conversation in my understanding.

I don't think i'm just that lucky, i've seen others say that their bet won significantly more times.

Great voice acting! This game is beautifully made and it shows a lot of effort went into making it. The art, sounds, SFX, all great!
One question though... is the game rigged? because 95% of the time the ball fell on what I selected, meaning I won almost every time I spun haha. My character was very apologetic and a 'yes' man haha.

Developer

haha ty, you got lucky, believe me, you can also get 95% on words you didnt want to say ;)

This is one of my favorites so far! Extremely creative take on the spin theme and also genuinely very serious. The music, sounds, and VA created an incredible atmosphere. I think the idea is great because, as a game, my instinct was to try and figure out how to win on the wheel but in the end the relationship fell apart anyway because I was focusing on gambling.

Very well done!!

Developer

thank you very much

I did not expect a wheel gambling game to be used as a relationship choice scenario. Each character you choose has a different personality, so the choices vary. BGM is very fitting too. Really solid work!

Developer

thank you

I'm genuinely amazed by the creativity of this game. Top marks on this aspect for sure!

The art is fire, the mechanic of betting on what our character's personnality wants to say is something I could absolutely never have thought of myself, the music and SFX really matched the vibe of the game, and I loved the story, even though I was a bit disappointed that the different personalities don't trigger different dialogues from Jessica, but I can't ask for too much from a 6 days game.

The money aspect felt a bit bland after buying the upgrades, but that really is a minor issue in the end.

Congratulations!

Developer

I appreciate your review!
I can agree with the things you have raised, like you said, they were products of having 6 days to make the game :)

Very creative, a seriousness worthy of this jam, very polished...

i get a bit stressed with bets, but appart from that all I can say is just congratulations for your game :3

thank you

Might even be the most creative use of this theme I've seen. The voice acting was great, the CRT filter is great, and I can't find any flaws with it.

Thank you <3

What a unique yet fun take you did with this! I didn't think I would gamble my life away too. 10/10

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it!

Very unique and interesting,  in the end it didn't matter how much I won, because I lost myself and my relationship. Great writing and really well put together. This is the sort of gaming experience I LOVE.

Developer

Thank you
