A fine game, but somehow I keep spinning a zero 😭

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! I just fixed that annoying wheel, along with a couple of other things

Submitted

It takes a while to get going, but it's pretty fun! The art is really well done in particular!

Developer

I'm glad you liked it!

Submitted

Fun game, spent a good 20 minutes without noticing. It's a bit of a slow start, there's a little gap close to the player where enemies don't get hit.

Developer

Thanks for the compliment and feedback!

Super cute art style and easy-to-understand gameplay. Stopped around level 111, the end-game prices get pretty steep haha. Love the little characters and the vfx. As other people pointed out, the spin upgrade doing nothing was a little confusing at first. Also, the spinning wheel seemed a little inconsistent at times? Sometimes it would slide, and sometimes it would just stop abruptly

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'll be rolling out a patch that fixes those issues as soon as the jam is over

Submitted

Slow start, but I'm glad I stuck with it! Hit level 100, though I'm starting to think there's no end / win mechanic. Only afterwards did I read the part about the spin upgrade not doing anything, but I'd like to imagine it was giving me emotional support while I cooked spaghetti noodles (which wasn't great). I had a lot of fun in the core game play loop, and it's really nice once you get about level 50~ with several upgrades, the pacing becomes more enjoyable.

Beyond that, all the visuals were great! I loved the UI and enemies, and the animations were fluid. Very well designed, great submission!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for all the feedback and compliments! It was just one misplaced variable that caused the spin to do nothing ಠ﹏ಠ I have it fixed along with a couple of other things. Just waiting for the jam to end to upload the changes

Submitted

I feel you 😭 some of our stuff broke in the last hour. We're gonna have to do some polishing too. Good luck!

Submitted

Longest playtime I spent playing entire game jam! I still waiting when I can start cooking the spagetthi though XD

Developer

Thanks! I couldn't think of a time-effective minigame for making spaghetti, so wheel it is!

Submitted

This is a really cool game! I love the art style too. The game feels a bit slow at first, and I keep getting the 0 on the wheel? Might be a skill issue but I feel like when the wheel keeps spinning after I stop it and lands on 0, or when I start the stop on 0 it instantly stops. I think this might be because when I stop the wheel very soon after starting spinning, it has no momentum and stops on whatever you start at. This was very fun to play, and I had a great time! Great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you had a great time despite the wheel. Yeah, it does have a tendency to land on 0 as it is now. I have it fixed and am awaiting the end of the jam to update the game

The art style is very charming, and the gameplay loop is interesting. However, after a while it starts to feel repetitive, and the game feels too easy. I also encountered a bug where, after upgrading Speed to level 9, the sword stopped moving. Aside from that, this is a great entry that feels very polished. Great job!

Developer

Thank you! I definitely have to take a look at that speed perk. Lots of other players reported the same issue. And maybe if I feel like, I'll spice up the gameplay a bit

Submitted

Such incredibly charming artwork.

Thought it was going to be too slow after the first couple of waves, but getting just a few damage and speed upgrades and I became immediately addicted.

Only issue I had was with the spin wheel landing on 0 far too frequently at one point, but then felt like I could avoid that by clicking he spin and stop buttons in very quick succession.

Fantastic game and going back to play more now.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the kind words and feedback! I'll be sure to address the wheel's issues after the jam

I think by far the strongest aspect of this game, is the visuals. Everything has transitions, the meatballs fly to the corner, the experience bar dissolves really nicely, the border of the monster field is wavy, the coins that fly out when you get your final money count. It is blatantly obvious that so much love has been put into making the feel of the game as good as possible by trying to include as much juice as possible to make the rest feel good.

I think the audio is also very satisfying, it is a good mood mix of each phase of the gameplay and the sound of the monsters getting slashed is really nice!

However, I do think the gameplay is built on a lot of pretty tropey things, nothing wrong with that of course. but the game design and the way spinning was incorporated was a little standard and with a title and thumbnail like those, I was just expecting a little more. But that's ok! I still played it for a good 20 minutes and the loop was pretty fun brain off gameplay! really well made game and congrats on having the #1 thumbnail (in my opinion)

Developer

Wow! Those are some of the nicest compliments I've received (〃^▽^〃) Thank you! And your criticisms are pretty fair. I wasn't exactly innovative or ambitious with this entry, but simplicity was also my goal. I do have ideas, however, for how I'd expand this game if I ever felt like making it something more interesting after the jam

Submitted

Absolutely loved this game! The art style is great, the music is goofy very serious, and the gameplay is fun, and I know its a listed issue, but the amount OF TIMES THAT DAMN SPAG-YETTI WHEEL LANDED ON ZERO MAKES ME WANNA

Developer (1 edit)

I'm glad you got some enjoyment out of the game despite that fricking wheel!

Submitted

This game is amazing! I've spent way too much on this already! I would love to see a proper release of this!

Perfect implementation of the theme, great music, art and gameplay!

I don't know if its intentional, but I felt like quite often the wheel just instantly stopped on 0, while it was turning for quite a while on otherwise.

But all in all a great game, good work!

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you! Maybe one day I will turn it into something more!

The wheel is unintentionally terribly designed, but also intentionally left that way. During testing, I liked that the bug weighted the results, and I didn't have time to fix it after I identified the issue anyway. When I edit the game, I'll be sure to make the wheel more fair or replace it entirely

Submitted

This remind me of brotate, good art and music, the sound effects are nice, i don't know if its my luck but i keep hitting 0 on the wheel a lot. This can be a good game if you work and expand it. Its a good entry for the jam.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I might expand this game and iron out some flaws after the jam, like that wheel, if all goes well

Submitted (1 edit)

I love goblins and upgrading this cutie's arsenal was very fun (fork -> knife -> chopping knife). It is fun survivors-like game! If only you had special sfx for hitting enemies (mine also missing many sfx I also suffer from this self-critic) other than that It is great in all categories my personal favorite survivors-like in this jam!

Developer(+1)

Goblins are the best! You can expect to see even more goblin characters from me in the future. And I'm happy to hear you liked my game so much. Thank you for your kind words and feedback! Audio is one of the things I wish I could've spent more time on. It was kinda last-minute 😅

Submitted

This is one of my favorite entries in the jam, it's super pollished and feels very satisfying to play. If you'd expand on this with some more upgrades and challenges for later rounds this can turn into a dangerously addictive game!

Developer

Thank you! That's encouraging to hear because I have been wondering if I should make a full incremental game, especially after participating in this jam

Submitted

I like the background pattern that feels incorporated into the itch page (the shop)

Developer (1 edit)

Thank you for noticing that little detail ^_^ I have done that for several other games too, but I don't think anyone else has ever commented on it

Submitted

Very fun incremental! The art, animations and music are amazing!! Before I knew it, I was playing for 10 minutes, very addictive.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! About a 10-minute session is what I was aiming for

Submitted

The amount of polish in the game is crazy for only being made in a week! This was really fun to play :D

Developer

Thanks! It was certainly a lot to get done in a week, with everything else I had going on

Submitted

Love the aesthetic, and the gameplay was nice and juicy! It almost felt like two different games, which was strange. Like, I enjoyed the shop and the battlegrounds separately, and each time I switched, it felt like I was leaving the other one prematurely. Idk how to describe it. Anyway, good game; would eat it's balls again.

Developer(+1)

I think I know what you mean. Not about the balls, well... maybe. I think it may feel like separate games because the vibes and pacing between the two scares are pretty different from one another, and the transition comes abruptly. Anyway, thanks for playing!

Submitted

I really like the art stye and how to music adapted when the timer went to 0! I think it would be cool to have a bit more time between spins to take out enemies, but still had a lot of fun!

Developer

Thanks! Yeah, maybe I could've made the default time for rounds a little longer
